Northeast-10 Player and Pitcher of the Week
Matt Guisti, Stonehill (Sr., SP, Hopkinton, Mass.) - Threw a
perfect game on just 65 pitches on his way to striking out six in a
9-0 seven inning win over Assumption. In his only other start of
the week, threw a shutout with six strikeouts against C.W.
Post.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Ryan Geffert, Southern Connecticut (Fr., 1B, Plymouth, Pa.) - Went
7-for-18 with a .389 average and .889 slugging percentage during a
4-1 week with two RBI, three doubles and two home runs including a
game-winning home run in the ninth against Caldwell.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Brett Damato, Bentley (Jr., OF, Commack, N.Y.) - Helped the team
to a 5-1 week by hitting .500 (13-26) and slugging .923. Scored
eight runs, drove in six, and had three doubles, a triple and two
homers. Recorded a .483 on base percentage and handled 15 chances
without an error. Had at least two hits in every game, and against
Saint Leo, hit a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the
ninth to tie the game at the time. Also had his 100th career
hit.
Jarrod Marchesi, Bentley (Sr., SP, Peabody, Mass.) - Pitched a
five-hit complete game shutout against American International. Did
not issue a walk, struck out five and allowed only one runner to
reach third base.
Charlie Pagliarulo, Bentley (Jr., 2B, Medford, Mass.) - In a 5-1
week, hit .478 (11-23) with five doubles, seven RBI and seven runs
scored. Had a .517 on base percentage and a .976 fielding
percentage (41 chances, one error). Hit safely in every game,
scored in five of the six, and had an RBI in five of the six as
well. Was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in a 10-6 win over
Saint Leo. Also recorded his 100th career hit.
Mike Baillargeon, Assumption (Sr., 2B, Worcester, Mass.) –
This past week batted .600 including nine hits, five extra base
hits including two home runs. Drove in four runs and scored seven
and had an on base percentage of .647.
Mike Adams, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, Orchard Park, N.Y.) -
Started, threw 6.2 innings, gave up one unearned run on two hits,
walked three and struck out a career-high 13, but took a tough-luck
loss against Dominican.
Mike Dowd, Franklin Pierce (Fr., C, East Bridgewater, Mass.) - Hit
2-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs in a win over Caldwell.
Went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a home run, three RBI and two
runs scored in a win over St. Thomas. Went 3-for-4 with a double
and a walk, drove in a run and scored another the loss to St.
Thomas.
Taylor von Kriegenbergh, UMass Lowell (Jr, 1B, Stoneham, Mass.)
-
In seven games this past week, batted .292 (7-24) with nine runs,
five RBI and three walks in a 5-2 week. Highlights include a
2-for-4 effort with three RBI and two runs in a 10-5 victory over
Dominican; and a 2-for-5 showing with two runs and one RBI in an
8-5 loss to Molloy.
Brendan Pyburn, Merrimack (Jr., 2B, Peabody, Mass.) - Tallied
seven hits in 15 at-bats this past week, driving in four runs and
hitting a homerun. Also scored seven runs.
Evan Okon, New Haven (Sr., 2B, Bellmore, N.Y.) - Hit .417
(5-for-12) in three games this past week. Led the team with four
runs scored and four RBI, while slugging .500 with an on-base
percentage of .467.
Joe Cotone, Pace (Sr., OF, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) - Batted .385
(10-for-26) with three doubles and a triples in seven games. Went
2-for-4 with two runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base in a win
over Molloy. Had two hits in four at-bats with an RBI double and
scored a run in a tie against Concordia. Recorded a run-scoring
double in a win over Caldwell. Went 5-for-13 with a double, one RBI
and four runs scored in a four-game series against Barry.
Nicholas DeMeo, Pace (Sr., SP, Farmingville, N.Y.) - Tossed 6.1
innings of scoreless ball, while allowing four hits and struck out
four, earning the win over Caldwell.
Jeremiah St. Louis, Saint Rose (Sr., SP, Tupper Lake, N.Y.) - Went
1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .148 batting
average throughout 7.2 innings of work covering two appearances.
Fanned 11 and scattered four hits in seven innings on the mound to
collect a victory against St. Thomas Aquinas. Also tossed 2/3
innings of hitless relief against Dowling.
Ed Bethke, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SP, Branford, Conn.) -
Pitched a complete game shutout against Caldwell with seven
strikeouts, zero walks and five hits.
Kevin Bowerman, Southern Connecticut (Sr., 3B, West Haven, Conn.)
– In a 4-1 week, went 5-for-12 (.389 BA.) with a double, five
RBI, two runs, two stolen bases, three walks and a game winning
triple against Bloomfield, driving in three runs.
Steve Golbranson, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., SP, Abington,
Mass.) - Pitched seven innings in a complete-game win over C.W.
Post. Allowed five hits and struck out five while giving up just
one run.

BENTLEY: Juniors Brett Damato (Commack, N.Y.) and Charlie Pagliarulo (Medford, Mass.) each notched their 100th career hit during the Falcons’ trip to Florida.

Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Jason Westrol, Bentley (Jr., G, Brielle, N.J.) - Earned
All-Tournament honors at the NCAA Division II East Regional after
averaging 24.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Shot 51
percent from the field and made 11-of-17 three-pointers, including
nine straight at one point. Nailed 22-foot three-pointer with 2.7
seconds left in 2nd OT to give Bentley 79-76 semifinal win over
Merrimack. Buried seven of eight three-pointers and finished with a
career-best 28 points in the regional final against C.W. Post.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Kyle Caiola, UMass Lowell (Fr., G, Parma, Ohio) - Compiled 20
points and three assists while shooting 7-of-14 from the floor and
6-of-6 from the free throw line in the 86-84 overtime loss to
Merrimack in the NCAA Tournament East Regional First Round.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Courtland Bluford, Assumption (Jr., G, Ft. Washington, Md.) - In
the NCAA East Regional, averaged 11.5 points and five rebounds per
game coming off the bench. In a win over Stonehill, scored 11
points and had four rebounds, three steals,one blocked shot and one
assist. In a game against C.W. Post he scored 12 points had six
rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Savoy Fraine, Assumption (So., C, Grenada Hills, Calif.) - In the
NCAA East Regional, averaged 13 points and six rebounds in two
games. In a win over Stonehill, had 15 points and five rebounds,
three blocked shots, one assist and one steal. In a game against
undefeated C.W. Post, scored 11 points and pulled down seven
rebounds and blocking two shots.
Patrick Shea, Assumption (Sr., G, Salem, Mass.) - In the NCAA East
Regional, averaged 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. In a win
over Stonehill, scored six points and had four rebounds and three
steals. In a game against C.W. Post, scored 15 points had nine
rebounds, four assists and one blocked shot.
Greg Twomey, Assumption (Gr., F, Groton, Mass.) - In the NCAA East
Regional, averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. In a win
over Stonehill, scored 12 points, pulled down nine rebounds, dished
out four assists and had one steal. In a game against C.W. Post,
scored nine points, had six rebounds, dished out six assists and
had one steal.
Brian Tracey, Bentley (So., F, Bow Mar, Colo.) - Was chosen to the
NCAA East Regional All-Tournament Team after averaging 16.3 points,
10 rebounds and two assists. Shot .645 from the field, made three
of seven three-pointers and was six of seven at the foul line. Had
double-doubles in each of the first two rounds, with 19 points and
a career-best 12 rebounds against Bridgeport, and 11 points and 12
boards vs. Merrimack. Had 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting in finals
vs. C.W. Post.
Kevin Carr, UMass Lowell (Jr., G, Lancaster, Ohio) - Registered 17
points and six assists in the 86-84 overtime loss to Merrimack in
the NCAA Tournament East Regional.
Max Kerman, UMass Lowell (So., G, Watertown, Mass.) - Scored 20
points and grabbed five rebounds while shooting 6-of-12 from the
field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the 86-84 overtime
loss to Merrimack in the NCAA Tournament East Regional.
Darren Duncan, Merrimack (Jr., G, Briarwood, N.Y.) - Tallied a
double-double on 25 points and 11 assists in an overtime win over
UMass Lowell, and tied his career high with 17 made free throws and
20 attempts. Added 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists
against Bentley.
Dee Mency, Merrimack (So., G, Hagerstown, Md.) - Tallied a pair of
double-doubles, including 29 points, which tied his career high,
and 11 rebounds against Bentley. Averaged 27 points and 11 rebounds
in the NCAA Tournament and scored his 1,000th point.
A.J. Rudowitz, Stonehill (Jr., F, Monroe Township, N.J.) - Scored a
team high 15 points while grabbing sevenrebounds and recording a
block and a steal in a loss to Assumption in the NCAA East Regional
Quarterfinals.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Reached the Sweet 16 for the fourth time
in five years, became the first team in Northeast-10 history to
string together three consecutive 25-win seasons, finishing at
26-7. Junior Jason Westrol and sophomore Brian Tracey were named to
the All-Tournament Team at the NCAA East Regional. Senior Lew
Finnegan (Lexington, Mass.) finished his career with 1,391 points,
good for 17th place all-time, and Westrol will begin his senior
year with 1,372 points, 19th in Bentley history. Westrol’s
603 points this season tied for the fourth most in the
program’s history, and his 18.3 average was the highest by a
Falcon in 13 years.
MERRIMACK: The Warriors won a NCAA Tournament game
for the first time since 1991. The 79-76 double overtime loss to
Bentley was their first double overtime game since 2003. Darin
Mency became the 36th player in school history to tally his 1,000th
career point on Saturday in a 86-84 overtime win over Lowell.

Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Johannah Leedham , Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Ellesmere Port,
England) - Earned Most Outstanding Player honors for the
second-straight year in leading Franklin Pierce to its
second-straight East Regional Championship. Averaged 21.7 points,
6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, four steals and two blocked shots during
the three-game tournament. Shot 57.6-percent from the field,
including 40-percent from three-point range, and converted
91.3-percent free-throw attempts for the weekend. Led all scorers
with 24 points to go with five rebounds, four assists and six
steals in the regional final victory over third-seeded
Stonehill.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Marielle Giroud, Franklin Pierce (Fr., F, Martigny, Switzerland) -
Averaged 6.3 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocked
shots. Shot 56.3-percent from the field for the weekend. Netted a
season-high 12 points to go with six rebounds, three assists and
three blocked shots in the regional final victory over 3rd-seeded
Stonehill. Chipped in six points (3-4 FGs), four rebounds and three
steals in the second round win over 5th-seeded American
International. Collected five rebounds, three assists and three
steals in opening round win over 8th-seeded Philadelphia.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Stacy Boisvert , American International (Sr., F, Agawam, Mass.) -
Averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game in a 1-1 week at the
NCAA tournament. Scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds with
three assists in the first round win over Bentley and netted 11
points with eight boards in the second round versus Franklin
Pierce.
Laechia Conley, American International (So., G, Urbandale, Iowa) -
Scored a career-high 25 points with seven rebounds and three
assists in the NCAA tournament win over Bentley.
Shatasia Kearse, Bentley (Fr., F, Framingham, Mass.) - In
Bentley’s 71-59 loss to American International in the opening
round of the NCAA tournament, contributed nine points, seven
rebounds and a steal.
Kristy McLean, Bentley (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - In her
final game as a Falcon, scored a career-best 27 points and also had
seven rebounds, three steals and a block in a 71-59 NCAA tournament
loss to American International. Was 6-of-12 from the field, 3-of-5
from three and 12-of-13 at the free throw-line.
Toby Martin , Franklin Pierce (Sr., G, Wayne, Maine) - Earned
All-Tournament team honors as she helped lead Franklin Pierce to
its second-straight East Regional championship. Averaged 13.3
points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and a steal in the three NCAA
Tournament wins. Made 55-percent of her shots from the field,
including 41.7-percent from three-point range, and converted all 13
free-throw attempts for the weekend. Canned 4-of-7 three-pointers
and made all six free-throw attempts for a season-high 18 points to
go with six rebounds in the regional final win over 3rd-seeded
Stonehill. Posted 13 points, two rebounds and two assists in the
second round win over 5th-seeded American International. Chipped in
nine points and four assists in the opening round win over
8th-seeded Philadelphia.
Jennifer Leedham , Franklin Pierce ( Sr. , G , Ellesmere Port,
England ) - Earned All-Tournament team honors for the
second-straight season in helping lead Franklin Pierce to its
second-straight NCAA II East Regional championship. Averaged 8.7
points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists for the week. Posted 11 points
and five assists in Monday's regional final victory over 3rd-seeded
Stonehill. Registered ten points, seven assists and five rebounds
in Saturday's second round win over 5th-seeded American
International. Dished nine assists to go with six rebounds and five
points in Friday's opening round win over 8th-seeded
Philadelphia.
Vanessa Power, Franklin Pierce (Sr., G, Mildura, Australia) -
Helped Franklin Pierce claim its second-straight East Regional
championship as she averaged 8.7 points per game, shooting
50-percent (10-for-20) from the field, including 6-for-15 (40%)
from three-point range, for the week. Opened the weekend with ten
points in win over 8th-seeded Philadelphia. Also netted ten points
(4-7 FGs, 2-5 3's) in the second-round win over American
International. Made 2-of-3 three-pointers for six points in the
regional final win over 3rd-seeded Stonehill.
Ashley Anderson, Saint Rose (Sr., F, Portland, Maine) - Registered
her fifth double-double of the year with 16 points and 10 rebounds
in a 62-58 NCAA Tournament setback to Stonehill. Also dished out
four assists and went 4-for-4 from the stripe.
Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill (Jr., F, Middleboro, Mass.) - Helped
lead the team to the NCAA Regional Finals by averaging 13 pts, 6.3
rebounds and two blocks over three games. In the Regional Semifinal
win over Holy Family. had 14 pts, eight rebounds, three blocks and
five assists.
Bethany Tighe, Stonehill (Sr., F, North Easton, Mass.) - Average
17 pts and 8.3 rebounds over three NCAA tournament games this past
week leading the team to the regional final. Had 22 points, eight
rebounds and two steals in a win over Holy Family in the Regional
Semifinals.
Weekly Notes:
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: AIC's 71-59 win over
Bentley in the first round of the NCAA tournament was the
first-ever win over the Falcons in an NCAA tournament game and
marked the first-ever NCAA victory for second-year head coach
Kristen Patterson. It also marked just the second time in program
history that the Yellow Jackets defeated Bentley twice in the same
season.
BENTLEY: Senior Kristy McLean set a career
scoring high of 27 points in her final game in a Bentley uniform,
accomplishing the feat in the Falcons’ NCAA Regional game
against AIC. McLean was named to both the WBCA and Daktronics
All-Region teams. Her 560 points were the fifth most in school
history, and her 17.0 scoring average was the second highest ever
for a Bentley guard. Sophomore Kim Brennan (Locust Valley, N.Y.)
finished the season with 1,195 minutes, the most in Bentley
history.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: The Ravens captured their
second-straight regional championship and berth in the NCAA
Division II Elite Eight next week in San Antonio, Texas. Franklin
Pierce is the tenth-straight NE-10 member to reach the Elite Eight
and 20th in 29 years of the Conference's existence. The Ravens are
the first team to repeat as East Region champs since Merrimack won
back-to-back titles in 2004 and '05. Franklin Pierce has matched
its program record for wins in a season (27) set during last year's
Elite Eight run. Junior All-American Johannah Leedham was named
Most Outstanding Player at the regional for the second-straight
year and she was joined on the All-Tournament team from Franklin
Pierce by seniors Jennifer Leedham and Toby Martin. Johannah
Leedham became the second player in program history and seven in
NE-10 history to reach the 2,000-point plateau during Friday's
opening round win over Philadelphia. Her 2,051 career points are
good for second all-time in program history and fifth in NE-10
history. Leedham also became the first player in program history to
net 700 points in a season twice. Her 715 points so far this season
are second only to her program record 758 points set last season.

Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Wyatt Couture, Bentley (Jr., M, South Hadley, Mass.) - Scored a
team-high three goals and was instrumental in Bentley's comeback,
upset win of No.5 Adelphi. With Bentley trailing 10-8 in the fourth
quarter, scored two straight goals less than two minutes apart to
tie the score.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Doug McIver, Le Moyne (Sr., G, Altamont, N.Y.) - Made 10 saves in
net in the 11-5 win over #4 Mercyhurst.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Nick Maggio, Merrimack (Fr., M, Winchester, Mass.) - Won 16 of 21
faceoffs, tallied a game-high 10 ground balls and added an assist
in a 11-8 win over #7 Dowling.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Nicholas Brett, American International (Fr. A London, N.H.)
– Scored three goals and dished out five assists this past
week. Had an assist against Pfeiffer and then tallied three goals
with four assists against St. Andrew’s Presbyterian.
Aaron McNab, Anerican International (So. A West Springfield,
Mass.) – Tallied six goals and three assists over two games
this past week. Netted a goal and dished out an assist in the
season opener at Pfeiffer, then recorded five goals and two assists
for seven points in the second game of the week at St.
Andrew’s Presbyterian.
Kevin Jurgens, Assumption (Jr., A, Needham, Mass.) - In a 1-0
week, recorded three goals in a win over MIT.
Kris Dambach, Bentley (Sr., G, Chester, N.J.) - Made nine saves in
the win over fifth-ranked Adelphi. Four of his saves came in the
fourth quarter.
Brendan Grant, Bentley (Fr., A, Walpole, Mass.) - Scored two goals
and one assist in the win over No.5 Adelphi.
Mike Byrnes, Le Moyne (Fr., A, Tully, N.Y.) - Scored two goals in
the 11-5 win over #4 Mercyhurst. Tallied one goal in the opening
quarter and added a goal in the third quarter.
Mike Rabbitt, Le Moyne (Jr., A, Simsbury, Conn.) - Scored three
goals and dished out an assist in the 11-5 win over #4 Mercyhurst.
Tallied one goal in the opening quarter and added a pair in the
second quarter, while dishing out an assist in the third
quarter.
Jo Pisano, Merrimack (Sr., M, Dedham, Mass.) – Netted four
goals in an 11-8 victory over #7 Dowling.
Jake Sheppard, Pace (Sr., A, Brunswick East, Melbourne, Victoria,
Australia) - Totaled eight points on three goals and five assists
in a 1-1 week. Posted four points (1G, 3A) against Dowling. Tallied
four points (2G, 2A) in a win over Seton Hill.
T.J. Urban, Pace (Sr., A, Kinnelon, N.J.) - Totaled seven points
on three goals and four assists in a 1-1 week. Posted four points
(1G, 3A) against Dowling. Tallied three points (2G, 1A) in a win

Ashley Ferrandiz, New Haven (So., M, West Sayville, N.Y.) –
In a 2-0 week with wins against Holy Family (18-2) and Merrimack
(20-7), scored six goals and handed out seven assists. Also grabbed
five ground balls, three draw controls and six caused turnovers.
Tallied a week-high seven points (five goals, two assists) in the
win over Merrimack.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Maureen Spellman, New Haven (Fr., G, Trumbull, Conn.) – In
two games this past week, allowed just nine goals in 90 minutes of
action. Recorded 12 saves and faced 27 shots in the two games.
Grabbed a week-high 11 saves against Merrimack.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Sarah Magnone, New Haven (Fr., A, Yardley, Pa.) – In a 2-0
week, tallied six goals and one assist. Scored three goals in each
of the wins and dished out one assist against Holy Family. Also
grabbed four ground balls, caused two turnovers and recorded one
draw control.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Morgan Mastronardi, American International (Jr., M, Corunna, Ont.)
- Scored five goals with three assists for eight points in two
games last week. Scored four goals and assisted on three others
against Chestnut Hill.
Katie Warner, American International (Sr., A, Westfield, Mass.) -
Scored seven goals with one assist for eight points in two games
last week. Scored six goals with one assist in the 21-18 loss to
Chestnut Hill.
Alyssa Ritchie, Bentley (Sr., M, North Andover, Mass.) - Scored
seven goals in two games against Belmont-Abbey and No.4 Limestone
this past week. Had three goals against Belmont-Abbey and four
against Limestone, which were both team-highs.
Kelly Pasquantonio, Merrimack (So., M, Plainville, Mass.) - Scored
three goals and added an assist against #7 New Haven.
Mary Pasquantonio, Merrimack (Fr., M, Plainville, Mass.) - Tallied
two goals, eight shots and two ground balls in her collegiate debut
against New Haven.
Katherine O'Hara, Saint Anselm (So., G, Norwell, Mass.) - Made 18
saves in the 15-13 win over the Molloy College. Faced 31 shots en
route to the Hawks first win of the season.
Michaela Rocha, Saint Anselm (Sr., A, Rye, N.H.) – Tallied
five goals and four assists in the 15-13 win over Molloy
College.
Meghan Smith, Saint Anselm (Fr., M, E. Rochester, N.Y.) - Netted
two goals and two assists in the 15-13 win over Molloy College.
Carole Lee, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., A, Derry, N.H.) - Totaled
seven goals and four assists in a 1-2 week. Notched four goals and
two assists in a setback to Bates and had two goals and two assists
in a win over Molloy.
Emily Mongeau, Southern New Hampshire (Fr., M, Westborough, Mass.)
- Totaled six goals in three games this past week. Had two goals in
each of the team’s games during the week while also recording
14 draw controls and seven ground balls.
Maura Murphy, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., A, Candia, N.H.) -
Finished with six goals and four assists in three games last week.
Totaled three goals and two assists against Bates and three goals
and an assist in a win over Molloy.

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: Senior Jennifer Parro
(Ipswich, Mass.) became the first SNHU player to reach 100 career
assists against Bates on Tuesday. In that same game, junior Carole
Lee became the sixth player in program history to record her 100th
career point.

Northeast-10 Player and Pitcher of the Week
Jenna Vanacore, Le Moyne (So., SP, Hicksville, N.Y.) - Went 4-0 in
four starts, while striking out 27 batters over 28 scoreless
innings in a 7-1 week. Recorded an 0.857 WHIP as opponents hit just
.161. Posted 11 strikeouts in a complete game performance in the
1-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. Registered eight strikeouts in a
3-0 win over #21 C.W. Post and struck out five batters in a 1-0
victory over #26 Minnesota State-Mankato.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Jennifer Lowrey, Assumption (Fr., SP, Assonet, Mass.) – This
past week, made four appearances and three starts. Recorded an
earned run average of 0.82, including one shutout. Had 22 innings
of work and struck out 19 good enough for a 3-0 record to close out
the team’s trip in Florida. Drove in the game winning RBI in
the top of the ninth inning against Hannibal-LeGrange in a 3-2
victory.

Ashley Deegan, American International (Sr., SP, Durham, Conn.) -
Went 2-1 with a 1.80 ERA and 12 strikeouts in five appearances last
week. Tossed a two hitter with four strikeouts in a 2-1 win over
Felician and tossed three scoreless innings of relief with four Ks
as the team rallied to beat Dominican in extra innings. Also earned
a save in the second game against the Chargers, tossing two
scoreless innings with one strikeout. Also batted .308 (4-13) with
a double, four RBI and four runs scored. Was 1-for-4 with one RBI
and two runs scored, including the game-winning run in the bottom
of the eighth, in a 6-5 win over Ohio Valley and was 2-for-3 with
two RBI and a run scored in the 7-6 extra innings win over
Dominican.
Tara DeMontier, American International (Gr., 3B, Amesbury, Mass.)
- Batted .304 (7-23) with four doubles, one triple, four RBI and a
.565 slugging percentage last week. Went 2-for-3 with two doubles,
one RBI and two runs scored in a 6-5 extra inning win over Ohio
Valley and went 3-for-5 with one double, one triple, one RBI and
two runs scored in a sweep of Dominican. Also went 1-for-3 with an
RBI-double in a win over West Liberty State.
Ashley Bilodeau, Assumption (So., 3B, Manchester, Conn.) - Led the
team with five RBI, while hitting .375 and recorded a slugging
percentage of .438 this past week. Scored three runs and had two
extra base hits. Defensively, had eight put outs and 16
assists.
Ashley DeRosa, Bentley (Sr., OF, Wethersfield, Conn.) - In a 3-4
week, hit .429 (9-21) with two doubles, a triple, three RBI and
four sacrifice bunts. Was 3-for-3 with two RBI vs. West Liberty,
and 2-for-2 against Felician.
Ashley Messina, Bentley (Jr., SP, Hanover, Mass.) - Was 2-1 with a
1.14 ERA in four appearances, including a two-hit shutout against
Felician. In 24.2 innings, did not issue a walk and allowed 22
hits, 10 runs (4 earned).
Courtney Jacobs, Franklin Pierce (Sr., SP, Fitchburg, Mass.) -
Started, threw all nine innings, gave up three runs on five hits,
walked six and recorded a program-record 14 strikeouts en route to
a hard-luck, extra-inning loss against Queens.
Leah Ford, Le Moyne (Fr., 1B, Pulaski, N.Y.) - Hit a team-best
.294 (5-17) with a .353 slugging percentage and two stolen bases in
a 7-1 week. Posted a pair of hits against Southern Indiana, while
driving in a run and scoring the winning run in a 4-3 victory over
Dowling.
Jill Gagnon, Merrimack (Sr., SP, Manchester, N.H.) - Led the team
to a season-opening two victories with five hits, six RBI, and four
doubles, while pitching a complete game, four hitter, and striking
out twelve.
Megan Caporossi, Southern Connecticut (Jr., 3B, Northford, Conn.)
– Led the team to a 4-2 weekend, including a game-winning
two-run homerun in the sixth inning against No. 17 Wayne State
College. Went 5-for-12 in the first four games with one homerun,
four RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base.
Khristle Lee, Southern Connecticut (Jr., C, Aztec, N.M.) -
Recorded five hits in the first four games of a three-day road
trip. Registered five runs and two stolen bases.
Kate Brides, Stonehill (Sr., OF, West Bridgewater, Mass.) - At the
Rebel Games in Florida, hit .394 over 10 games with two doubles and
two RBI. Went 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in a loss to
Dowling.
Chelsea Stryker, Stonehill (Fr., SS, Baldwin, N.Y.) - At the Rebel
Games, hit .294 with two stolen bases and scored five runs in ten
games at the leadoff spot. Went 3-for-4 with a run and stolen base
in a loss to St. Cloud St.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Junior Ashley Messina (Hanover, Mass.),
the stingiest pitcher in Division II last year in terms of walks,
has picked up where she left off. In 38.2 innings on the
team’s Florida trip, she didn’t issue a single free
pass.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Courtney Jacobs' 14 strikeouts
marked the 10th time she has recorded double digits in the
strikeout department and broke her own school record of 13, set on
March 17, 2007 against Wooster. Jacobs has also struck out 11
batters in a game twice and 10 batters six times. Brittany
Huntington is the only other Raven to strike out at least 10
batters in a game, as she struck out 11 against Keene State on
March 8, 2001.

Northeast-10 Men’ s Swimming Athlete of the
Week
Ricky Chidsey, Le Moyne (Sr., Liverpool, N.Y.) - Placed eighth in
the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:48.82 at the NCAA
Championships to earn First Team All-America honors. Also picked up
Honorable Mention All-America accolades with a 12th-place finish in
the 100-yard backstroke in 50.34 seconds.
Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the
Week
Cody Hall, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Parker, Colo.) - Collected
three All-America honors this past week at the NCAA National
Championships. Took fourth place in the 1650-yard freestyle and
eighth place in both the 1000-yard freestyle and 400-yard IM
events.
Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the
Week
Greg Simoneau, Southern Connecticut (So., Sandy Hook, Conn.) -
Earned two All-America accolades at the National Championships this
past week. Grabbed sixth place in the three-meter (401.45) and
eighth place in the one-meter (370.00) diving events.

Northeast-10 Men’ s Freshman of the
Week
Ryan Brauer, Saint Rose (Fr., Clifton Park, N.Y.) - Established
himself as a three-time All-American after setting his fifth school
record within a four-day span at the NCAA Division II
Championships. Sliced nearly five seconds off his own school record
on the way to an eighth place performance in the 200-yard
breaststroke (2:08.44). Earlier in the meet, swam a 1:51.88 in the
200 butterfly to remove three seconds off his mark with a 22nd
place performance. Finished 11th to garner honorable mention
All-America accolades in the 400 individual medley relay with a
3:59.02 clocking. Took a staggering 21 seconds off his own school
record with a 9:24.53 clocking in the 1,000 freestyle.

Week
Katie O'Donnell, Le Moyne (Fr., Delmar, N.Y.) - Placed 11th in the
200-yard backstroke in a school-record time of 2:03.94 at the NCAA
Championships to earn Honorable Mention All-America honors. Also
picked up Honorable Mention All-America accolades with a 16th-place
finish in the 200-yard IM in 2:07.99 after reaching the finals with
a school-record time of 2:06.77 in the preliminaries. Also set the
school record in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries with a time
of 57.56 to finish 17th.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Miguel Nesrala, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Santo Domingo, D.R.) -
Collected ninth place in the 200-yard freestyle event in day two of
the NCAA National Championships. For his performance he was awarded
an All-America honorable mention tribute.
Emily Sundel, Southern Connecticut (Jr., West Hartford, Conn.) -
Grabbed two All-America Honorable mentions at the NCAA National
Championships this past week. Notched 15th place in the 500-yard
freestyle event, touching the wall with a time of 5:03.68. Also
nabbed 14th place in the 1000-yard freestyle, swimming the heat in
10:18.93.

Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Tim Fayed, Stonehill (So., No. 1Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Glastonbury, Conn.) - Went 4-1 in five singles matches at No. 1
singles during the week. Defeated two opponents 6-0, 6-0 and only
dropped two sets, both in a loss to Palm Beach Atlantic. Also went
3-2 in No. 1 doubles matches.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Victor Suski, Bentley (Fr., No. 3 Singles/Doubles, West Hartford,
Conn.) - Went 4-4 this past week in Florida. Went 2-2 in #3
doubles, earning wins with partner Michael Dolan over Rochester and
Dowling. Also posted wins the same matches in No. 3 singles.

Natalija Subotic, Pace (Sr., No.1 Singles/Doubles, Bradenton,
Fla.) - Won at #1 singles 6-1, 6-0 and #1 doubles 8-1 in the team
win over Franklin Pierce.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Sarah Hickey, Stonehill (Fr., Lee, Mass.) - Went 5-0 without
losing a set, and only allowing one set to go to 6-4, switching
between no. 6 singles and No. 4 singles this past week. Also went
2-0 in No. 3 Doubles matches.

Donte Brown, UMass Lowell (So., Raynham, Mass.) - Earned
All-American honors in two events at the NCAA Championship. Placed
seventh in the 400 meter dash in 49.27 seconds and also ran a
48.4-second leg in the 4X400 meter relay to lead UMass Lowell to
fifth place.

Letecia Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Plainfield, N.J.) -
Captured All-America honors for the second straight year as she
placed sixth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.65 seconds at
the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. Was also
a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that place ninth in the
event with a time of 3:55.35.

Bidemi Balogun, American International (Fr., Providence, R.I.) -
Finished seventh overall in the weight throw at the NCAA Division
II Indoor Championship. By finishing seventh with a school record
toss of 17.29 meters she becomes the first All-American in track
& field in school history

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (Jr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Earned
All-American honors in the distance medley relay for the third
straight year. Ran the 800 meters in 2:15 to lead the foursome to a
time of 11:57.90, good for sixth place. Also finished 11th in the
800 meters preliminary in 2:15.18, up from her seed of No 16.
Andrew Grange, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, Mass. - Earned
All-American honors in two relays at the NCAA Championship. Ran the
400 meter dash in 49.6 seconds on the distance medley relay team
which placed eighth in 10:19.88. Also ran a 48.8-second leg on the
4X400 meter relay team, which placed fifth in 3:16.68.
Shannon Gagne, New Haven (So., Meriden, Conn.) - Finished seventh
in the 200-meter dash finals at the NCAA Division II National
Championship in a time of 24.91. Became the first women's track and
field student-athlete ever to score points at the national meet and
earn All-American honors.
Shaina Barr, Southern Connecticut (So., Manchester, Conn.) - Was a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:55.35.
Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Freeport, N.Y.) - Finished in a four-way tie for eighth place in the pole vault with a vault of 11 feet, nine and three-fourth inches to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Championships.
Danielle Moore, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Palmdale, Calif.) - Was a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:55.35.
Jennifer Munsey, Southern Connecticut (Sr., East Hartland, Conn.) - Was a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:55.35.
Kevin Gill, Stonehill (So., Brockton, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors as a member of the DMR which finished seventh at the national championships with a time of 10:19.69. Also placed 14th in the Mile with a time of 4:32.82.
