Northeast-10 Schools Ready to Tip-Off 2009-2010 Season With Preseason Events

 



October 15

Pace University will kick-off the 2009-2010 basketball season at 9 p.m.  Activities include a three-point contest and two chances to win $15,000 in the Hot-Shot Contest.  The contestant must hit a lay-up, free throw, three-pointer and half court shot in 25 seconds.  The Pace cheerleaders will perform and there will also be a 'Greeks vs. Athletes' Relay races and player introductions of the 2009-2010 men's and women's basketball teams.

The University of New Haven will kick off the basketball season with a pep rally on Thursday, October 15.  The 'Madness' festivities are scheduled for 9 p.m. in Charger gym.  The evening will conclude with a midnight breakfast held at the cafeteria of Bartels. 

 

October 16


Adelphi University will be hosting its annual tip-off festivities starting at 7 p.m. at the Center for Recreation & Sport on Friday, Oct. 16.  For a quick preview of the event see the above video or  click here. 

 

October 22

The College of Saint Rose will hold its 'MidKnight Madness' event on Thursday, October 22 starting at 9 p.m.  The night consists of a few different contests, including a pizza eating contest, a :24 second progressive shot sponsored by the Saint Rose bookstore, as well as a chance for one lucky student to win $10,000.  Each student that enters the gym will also receive a 'MidKnight Madness' t-shirt.  The Saint Rose dance team, cheerleading squad and step team will perform as well to go along with the introduction of the men's and women's basketball teams.

 

October 23

Saint Michael's College will tip-off its 2009-2010 basketball season with preseason activities on Thursday, October 23.  Activities include a number of competitions, prizes, FREE Pizza and of course the introduction of the 2009-2010 men's and women's basketball teams.  This year's event will take place at Ross Gym beginning at 11:30 p.m.

 

October 29

Stonehill College will introduce its 2009-2010 men's and women's basketball teams on Friday, October 29.  Starting at 10 p.m. the action begins in the lobby of Merkert Gym with a DJ, face-painting booth, photo keychain booth, pictures with ACE along with food and Give-A-Ways.  At 11 p.m. the 'Madness' continues into 'The Hanger' (gym) for introductions of the men's and women's basketball teams with performances by the cheerleaders, dance team, Ruckus group and a variety of contests to include Suma Wrestling, frozen t-shirt, So You Think You Can Dunk, basketball shooting and knock out.  Prizes will be available for all contests with two grand prizes!
