Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Jeff Bercume, Merrimack (Jr., OF, Leicester, Mass.) - Batted .591
this past week with 13 hits and seven RBI, including a 6-for-6
outing at American International, which included four RBI and a
triple.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Dustin Corbett, Pace (Sr., SP, Vestal, N.Y.) - Posted a 0.69 ERA
with a 2-0 record, while striking out 11 in 13 innings pitched this
past week. Tossed seven innings, allowing two hits and no runs
while striking out seven, earning the win over Assumption. Pitched
six innings allowing one hit and one earned run, while striking out
four, picking up the win over Southern New Hampshire.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Chris Hardy, Bentley (Fr., OF, Warwick, R.I.) - Extended his
hitting streak to 20 and hit .435 (10-23) during a 3-3 week, with
three RBI, three runs scored, a double and a triple. Slugged .565
and had a .480 on base percentage. Was 4-for-4 with three RBI in a
3-2 win over UMass-Lowell.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kevin Farrell, American International (Jr., 1B, Wilbraham, Mass.) -
Batted .381 (8-21) with two doubles, two runs scored and five RBI.
Went 3-for-6 with two RBI and a run scored in a doubleheader at
Bloomfield and was 3- for- 7 with two RBI and a run scored in a
doubleheader split with Merrimack.
Mike Baillargeon, Assumption (Jr., 2B, Worcester, Mass.) - In a 4-4
week, hit .343 (12-for-35, 2B, 3B, 5 RBI, 2 RS) and slugged .429
(15 TB). Went 3-for-6 with four RBI, a double, and a triple in a
home win over UMass Lowell. In a doubleheader split against
Dominican, went a combined 4-for-9 with a stolen base, a walk, and
a run scored.
Michael Colebrook, Assumption (So., SP, Leicester, Mass.) –
In a 4-4 week, went 2-0 (13.0 IP) while allowing five earned runs,
two walks, had 11 strikeouts, and a complete game. In a win over
UMass Lowell, pitched six innings allowing three runs, two walks,
and had three strikeouts. In a complete game victory over Saint
Michael’s, allowed two runs, no walks, and had eight
strikeouts.
Ricardo Sullivan, Bentley (Fr., SP, Wayland, Mass.) - Was 1-0 with
a save and a 0.82 ERA in two appearances, covering 11 innings.
Pitched a complete game four-hitter for a 2-1 win over Southern
Connecticut, with four walks and four strikeouts. Saved a 3-2 win
over UMass Lowell, facing the minimum number of batters in his two
innings of work.
Nick Campbell, Bryant (So., OF, Raynham, Mass.) - In a 4-1 week,
hit .583 (14-for-24) with seven RBI and five runs scored. Hit three
doubles and a triple with a walk and two stolen bases.
Eric Loh, Bryant (Sr., SP, Old Greenwich, Conn.) – Earned the
win with a 9-1 victory over Saint Rose. Pitched a complete-game,
five-hitter while striking out seven and allowing just one run and
one walk.
Dave Muscatello, Bryant (Jr., 2B, Hopkinton, Mass.) - Hit .471
(8-for-17) in five starts in a 4-1 week. Scored seven runs with
four RBI and a trio of doubles.
Scott Savastano, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SS, Plymouth, N.H.) - Hit
.385 (5-for-13) with three runs scored, a double and three RBI in a
3-0 week. Slugged .467 and posted a .462 on-base percentage while
playing error-free in ten chances at shortstop for the week. Was
3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in the game two
win of a doubleheader sweep of Stonehill. Hit 2-for-3 with an RBI
and run scored in win at Southern Connecticut.
Tim Keene, UMass Lowell (Jr., 3B, Berlin, N.H.) - Hit .429
(6-for-14) with six RBI and three runs scored in four games this
past week, while collecting an RBI in each game. Went 4-for-5 with
two RBI and a run scored in the 7-4 win at Bentley.
Jack Cawley, Pace (Sr., C, Bronx, N.Y.) - Batted .455 (10-for-22)
with eight runs scored, five RBI and four stolen bases in a 5-1
week. Went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and one RBI with two
stolen bases in two win over Assumption. Went 3-for-5 with a run
scored, one RBI and a stolen base against Dominican. Went 4-for-12
with four runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base in a three-game
sweep over Southern New Hampshire.
Vinny Dammann, Pace (So., 1B, Mullica Hill, N.J.) - Batted .421
(8-for-19) and slugged .632 with a double, a homerun, seven runs
scored and seven RBI in a 5-1 week. Went 2-for-7 with a homerun and
three runs scored in two wins over Assumption. Went 3-for-5 with a
double and two RBI against Dominican. Had three hits in five
at-bats with four RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base in two
wins over Southern New Hampshire.
Ryan Gargan, Saint Anselm (Sr., 1B, Byfield, Mass.) - Went 4-for-10
(.400) between two games for the Hawks, both against Stonehill. Had
six RBI over the two games, belting a homerun and picking up two
doubles.
Javier Guzman, Stonehill (Sr., 3B, San Juan, P.R.) - Batted .529
and drove in seven runs in a 2-2 week, while slugging .647. In a
12-6, 13-inning win over Saint Anselm, went 4-for-6 with five RBI.
Then in an 8-4 win over the Hawks, he went 3-for-3 with two runs
and two RBI.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Freshman Chris Hardy has extended his
hitting streak to 20 games, a stretch in which he has hit .384. In
his career, he has hit safely in 23 of 24 games.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Head Coach Jayson King collected
his 300th win at the University last week. King is now 302-160-1
(.653) in his ten seasons with the Ravens.
