Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Mike Baillargeon, Assumption (Jr., 2B, Worcester, Mass.) - In a 3-0 week, batted .600 (9-for-15, 4 RS, 2 2Bs, 7 RBI) and slugged .733 (11 TB). Went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI in a win at Holy Cross. Followed with a 2-for-4 day with a run scored in a victory at UMass-Lowell. In the season finale win at Bryant, went 4-for-6 with three runs, four RBI and a double.

Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week

Jim Fuller, Southern Connecticut (So., SP, Marlborough, Mass.) - Threw eight innings, gave up just one infield hit, walked one and struck out 19 versus Stonhill. Retired 26 of the 28 batters faced and struck out the side three times.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Shawn Frigon, Assumption (Fr., SS, Worcester, Mass.) - In a 3-0 week, batted and slugged .636 (7-for-11, 5 RS, RBI). In a road win at Holy Cross, went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Followed with a 2-for-4 day with a run scored in a road victory over UMass Lowell. In the season finale win at Bryant, went 4-for-4 with three runs and a RBI.

Weekly Honor Roll:


Dan Mooney, American International (Fr., 3B, Bennington, Vt.) - Batted .462 (6-13) with five RBI in a 2-2 week. Went 4-for-8 with four RBI in a season-ending doubleheader at Pace, including a 3-for-4 performance with two RBI in the 6-4 victory. Was also 1-for-3 with an RBI in the win over Pace earlier in the week.

Michael Colebrook, Assumption (So., SP, Leicester, Mass.) - In his final outing of the season, pitched a complete game 5-hit shutout of UMass-Lowell, striking out four and walking just one.

Mike DiReda, Assumption (Jr. , 3B , Shrewsbury, Mass.) - In a 3-0 week, batted .600 (9-for-15, 4 RS, 2 2Bs, 2 HRs, 6 RBI) and slugged 1.133 (17 TB). Went 4-for-4 with two runs, two home runs, a double, and two RBI in a victory over Holy Cross. Followed with a 2-for-4 day with a run and a double in a win at UMass Lowell. In the season finale win at Bryant, went 3-for-7 with a run and four RBI.

Chris Dupay, Bentley (Sr., SP, Scotia, N.Y.) - Pitched a complete game seven-hitter against Southern New Hampshire. Allowed two earned runs and struck out two in the 8-3 victory.

Jason Alexander, Bryant (Sr., 3B, Simsbury, Conn.) - Hit .316 (6-for-19) with an RBI and three runs in five games this past week. Slugged .368 with an on-base pct. of .458. Hit a double and drew three walks while getting hit by a pair of pitches.

Mark Dondero, Bryant (Sr., DH, Medfield, Mass.) - Hit .615 (8-for-13) with three RBI and two runs in four games this past week. Also slugged .615 with two walks and a .667 on base percentage. Got the game-winning hit in Game Two against Pace to win 1-0 in the 10th.

Mike Adams, Franklin Pierce (Jr., SP, Orchard Park, N.Y.) - Pitched a complete-game shutout in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Saint Rose last week. Scattered four singles over the nine innings, striking out 11 batters and walking just one. Five of the first six outs he recorded were by strikeout.

Brian Maloney, Franklin Pierce (So., SP, Brockton, Mass.) - Allowed just an unearned run on two hits with 13 strikeouts over 6.2 innings to earn the victory in game two of a doubleheader sweep of Saint Rose. Yielded just one walk.

Anthony Santos, UMass Lowell (Sr., 2B, Chelmsford, Mass.) – Hit .409 (9-for-22) with three runs and four RBI this past week. Began the week with back-to-back three-hit, two-RBI games -- wins over Dominican and Merrimack.

Jack Cawley, Pace (Sr., C, Bronx, N.Y.) - Batted .400 (8-for-20) with five runs scored, three doubles, seven RBI and a stolen base. Went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored, a double and a stolen base in a win over New Haven. Went 5-for-12 in three games against American International with three runs, seven RBI and two doubles.

Vinny Dammann, Pace (So., 1B, Mullica Hill, N.J.) - Batted .381 (8-for-21) with four runs, three doubles and three RBI. Went 7-for-11 with three doubles, three RBI, three runs and a stolen base.

Troy Conklin, Saint Rose (Jr., RP, Chatham, N.Y.) - Went 1-0 in his lone relief appearance last week, a 2-1 non-conference victory at Caldwell. Came out of the bullpen to start the fourth and proceeded to hurl six innings of two-hit ball. Fanned four batters and walked only one.

Kevin Bowerman, Southern Connecticut (Jr., 2B, West Haven, Conn.) - Hit .500 (5-for-10) with a double, three RBI, two walks, three runs and three stolen bases in a 3-0 week.

Weekly Notes:

ASSUMPTION: Junior second baseman Mike Baillargeon (Worcester, Mass.) set a new single season record of 81 hits, breaking former Hound Dan McGowan's '00 old record of 78 in 2000. In Sunday's game at Bryant, sophomore Derek Migrants (Ayer, Mass.) became the 36th player in school history to have five hits in a game (5-for-7). Assumption’s 31 hit attack in its win over Bryant was a new game record (old record: 28 vs. Fitchburg State, 5/26/37). The Greyhounds finished the season winning 8 of its last 12 games.

BRYANT:
Bryant won the outright regular-season conference title for the first time since 1998 with a pair of wins over Pace Saturday afternoon.
