Week
Mike Young, Merrimack (Fr., RB, Norwood, MA) - Tallied a game-high
193 rushing yards in Merrimack's 18-0 win over Pace. Carried the
ball 24 times and scored two touchdowns, including a long of 54
yards and an average of 8.0 yards per carry.
Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week
Scott Hayden, Merrimack (So., LB, Chicago, IL) – In an 18-0
win at Pace, tallied 10 tackles, including three for a loss of 14
yards. In addition, recorded two sacks, one forced fumble, and one
fumble recovery to lead the defensive unit that held Pace to 38
offensive yards on 54 plays.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Marlon Beckles, American International (Sr., RB, Brooklyn, NY) -
Carried 28 times for 160 yards and had an 80-yard touchdown run
against C.W. Post.
Todd Norley, Bentley (Jr., WR, Sudbury, MA) - In a 14-6 win at
Saint Anselm, caught four passes for 98 yards, including a
49-yarder for a touchdown.
Paul Tetzel, Bentley (Jr., FS, Millbury, MA) - In a 14-6 win at
Saint Anselm, had three tackles, an interception, two pass break
ups and a blocked extra point.
Josh Amaro, C.W. Post (So., RB, Staten Island, NY) - Carried the
ball 22 times for a team-high 107 yards and one touchdown in the
win over American International.
Kurt Ellis, C.W. Post (So., LB, Valley Stream, NY) - Posted a
team-high nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, and was one of
four players to notch an interception in the win over American
International.
Bobby Guy, Pace (Sr., LB, Fair Lawn, NJ) - In a loss to Merrimack,
totaled 12 tackles, six solo and one tackle for a loss. Forced one
fumble and recovered two.
Casey Larson, Saint Anselm (Sr., DL, Pascoag, RI) - Recorded
10-tackles (8 solo) in a 14-6 loss to Bentley. Also had three
tackles for a loss of a total of 12 yards, one forced fumble and
two sacks for a loss of 11 yards.
Tom Kelleher, Saint Anselm (Sr., LB, Wakefield, MA) - Recorded a
game-high 11 (4 solo) tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss and
one interception against Bentley.
Brandon Toles, Southern Connecticut (Jr., RB, Washington, MD) -
Rushed 32 times for 116 yards, accounting for more than half of
Southern Connecticut’s 215 total yards of offense.
George Whetstone, Stonehill (So., LB, Westwood, MA) - Recorded 10
total tackles (7 solo), including three tackles for losses of eight
yards, in a 14-0 setback to Southern Connecticut.

<>AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: Senior running back Marlon
Beckles (Brooklyn, N.Y.) moved into fifth place on AIC's career
scoring list Saturday, with his 30th career touchdown giving him
180 career points… ASSUMPTION: junior wide receiver JAKE
BEERS (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) became the third player in Assumption
College history with 100 career receptions. With his five
receptions against Nicholls, he now has 101 catches in his career
for 1,182 yards. He has also moved into third place on the season
list with his 44 catches---only Eric Mauer (1997-00), who caught 50
in both 1998 and 2000 and Billy DeMalia (2000-01), who caught 45 in
2001 have had more. His 576 yards receiving this season is the
ninth best in Hounds history.
