Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Week

John Wiechman, Southern Connecticut (So., RB, Buxton, Maine) - Set new career-highs in rushes (43), rushing yards (212) and touchdowns (three) in the win over Merrimack. It was his second straight game with at least 180 yards on the ground.

Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week

Michael Duffy, Bentley (Jr., LB, Plymouth, Mass.) - Had his second straight 13-tackle game in the 17-14 win over Stonehill. Had 3.5 tackles for losses totaling 15 yards, including an eight-yard sack.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Mike Mayo, American International (Fr., RB, Roosevelt, N.Y.) - Carried the ball 24 times for 189 yards and two touchdowns in his collegiate debut in the 35-7 win over Husson.

Weekly Honor Roll:


Rob Parent, American International (So., QB, West Warwick, R.I.) - Completed 12-of-22 passes for 201 yards and had three touchdowns - two passing and one rushing – in the 35-7 win over Husson.

Herbert Woodard, Assumption (So., RB, Salem, N.J.) - Rushed for 105 yards on 24 carries, and scored a touchdown in the win over Saint Anselm. Had three punt returns for a total of 24 yards and had a long return of 18 yards.

Richard Johnson, Merrimack (Jr., RB, Brockton, Mass.) - Totaled 172 total yards against Southern Connecticut. Tallied 41 rushing, 33 receiving, and 98 on kick returns and picked up one touchdown.

Marc Wilson, Saint Anselm (Fr., QB, Farmington, Conn.) - Rushed for a career-high 149 yards on a single-game school record 36 rushing attempts in a loss at Assumption. In addition, completed 10-of-21 passes for 87 yards.

Chris Bergeski, Southern Connecticut (Sr., WR, Mountainside, N.J.) - Finished with seven catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Merrimack.

Chris Roberts, Southern Connecticut (Sr., RB, New Britain, Conn.) - Completed 20-of-34 passes for a career-high 262 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Merrimack.

David Pringle, Stonehill (Jr., WR, West Haven, Conn.) - Hauled in four catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns in the 17-14 loss at Bentley. His first score was an over-the-shoulder 1 yard grab and his second was 70-yard reception.

Greg Sanzari, Stonehill (Sr., LB , Centerport, N.Y.) - Racked up a career-high 15 tackles (2.5 for loss) and a sack, giving him two games this season with 10+ tackles in the 17-14 loss at Bentley.

Weekly Notes:

AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: The 35-7 win over Husson was the team’s 10th in a row, a streak that began with a 44-21 win over Merrimack on October 6, 2007. This current winning streak is tied for the second-longest winning streak in program history. The Yellow Jackets also won 10 consecutive games spanning the 1979-80 seasons and won a school-record 11 straight contests spanning the 1974-75 campaigns. The win was also the Yellow Jackets 12th consecutive home victory, which dates back to November 5, 2005 when AIC recorded a 51-28 win over Saint Anselm, and marks the second-longest home winning streak in program history. The Yellow Jackets won a school-record 13 consecutive home games spanning the 1999-2002 seasons.

ASSUMPTION: Herbert Woodard became only the third sophomore in Assumption history to score his 100th point and eighth overall to reach the plateau. With his touchdown versus Saint Anselm he scored his 102nd point. Jake Longnecker became only the eighth player in Assumption history to reach 1,000 yards receiving in a career. With his 11 yard reception versus Saint Anselm on Saturday, he now has 1,006 yards receiving.

BENTLEY:
John White (Kingston, Mass.) became the third QB in Bentley history to compete at least 500 passes. He’s currently 12 attempts shy of 1,000 and 117 yards away from 6,000. With his next reception, John Studley (Needham, Mass.) will become the sixth Falcon to reach the century mark in that category.

SAINT ANSELM:
Freshman quarterback Marc Wilson surpassed the 100-yard mark for the third straight game, making him the first Saint Anselm player to do so in three straight since 2003. He is also the only Saint Anselm QB to ever rush for 100 yards in a game.
