Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Angela Cafarelli, Southern Connecticut (So., F, Enfield, CT) - In two Northeast-10 road wins last week, scored four goals and added two assists. Scored three goals in a 5-4 win at Bryant and added a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win at Saint Anselm.

Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Tina Nardi, Saint Michael's (Jr., GK, West Pawlet, VT) - Stopped 11 shots in earning a pair of shutout victories last week. Had five saves in her first career win, a 1-0 victory at Assumption, and added six stops (all in the second half) in a 2-0 victory versus Stonehill.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Grace Martha, Southern Connecticut (Fr., MF, Cheshire, CT) - In a pair of wins last week, registered a goal and three assists. Set up the first two goals and assisted on another score against Bryant. Scored the game-winner at Saint Anselm.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

Kaitlin Burke, Assumption (Jr., GK, Falmouth, MA) - For the week, made 17 saves and allowed just three goals (1.00 GAA). Had five saves in her first career shutout victory over Franklin Pierce.

Maureen Burns, Bryant (Sr., F, Derry, NH) - Had a goal and an assist last week. Scored versus Southern Connecticut and assisted on the overtime game winner against Franklin Pierce.

Kasey Kortz, Bryant (So., GK, Louisville, KY) - Made seven saves to record her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over Franklin Pierce.

Mary Beth Huszar, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Greenville, NH) - Scored two goals in a win over Saint Anselm College.

Courtney Hill, UMass Lowell (Sr., F, Newburyport, MA) - Scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 2-0 win against Assumption.

Missy Seeley, UMass Lowell (Fr., F, East Hampstead, NH) - Garnered an assist in a 3-2 loss at Bentley and scored her first collegiate goal in a 2-0 win against Assumption.

Amy Larrabee, Merrimack (So., GK, Stratham, NH) - Allowed just two goals in a 2-0 week. Made a save against Saint Anselm and two against American International.

Anne Rounce, Merrimack (Jr., MF, South Windsor, CT) ? Scored an unassisted goal in a 3-1 win versus AIC and added an assist against Saint Anselm in a 2-0 week.

Ashley Webb, Saint Michael's (Jr., D, Simsbury, CT) - Assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Assumption, and tallied the game-winning goal in a 2-0 shutout of Stonehill. Anchored a defense that allowed just 22 shots and no goals.

Julie Michalos, Stonehill (Sr., F, Norwood, MA) ? Had a hand in both goals in registering the game-winner and an assist on the insurance tally in a 2-0 victory over Bentley.

Dani Ryder, Stonehill (So., GK, Gloucester, MA) - Posted a 1-1 mark with 1.00 GAA and .778 saves percentage on the week, including three saves for her fourth shutout of season in a 2-0 victory over Bentley.

Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

STONEHILL: Stonehill, off to the best start in the program's 10-year history, snapped 2004 NCAA national runner-up Bentley's 21-match regular season winning streak and handed the Falcons their first shutout setback in nearly two seasons (34 matches) with Thursday's 2-0 victory at W.B. Mason Stadium. The win was the Skyhawks' second in 16 series meetings with Bentley dating back to 1996. Sophomore G Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) picked up her 13th career shutout in blanking Bentley and began the season with 329 minutes and 19 seconds of scoreless play in the Stonehill cage?BENTLEY: With a 2-0 loss at Stonehill Thursday night, Bentley?s 21-game regular season winning streak came to an abrupt end, two days after the Falcons had rallied from a two-goal deficit to edge UMass-Lowell in OT, 3-2. It was the first time in 34 games that Bentley had been blanked?SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: It was a big week for head coach Kelley (Kimball) Frassinelli, who was inducted Sunday into the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame. She was a four-year starter as a player for the Owls and was a first team All-America selection as a senior in 1991. Last season she guided the Owls to their first-ever NCAA Division II tournament berth.

UMASS LOWELL: UML lost to Indiana (PA) 3-2, then at Bentley 3-2 in overtime, marking the first time in nearly two years that the River Hawks lost back-to-back games. The last time UML lost consecutive games was in October 2003?SAINT MICHAEL?S: Saint Michael's won the first-ever field hockey game at its newly-built Christopher Duffy Artificial Turf Field at Doc Jacobs Complex on Saturday, 2-0, versus Stonehill. Junior Tina Nardi (West Pawlet, Vt.) earned her first two career victories last week, stopping a combined 11 shots in recording a pair of shutouts.
