In its first year back in the Northeast-10 Conference, the third-ranked and top-seeded LIU Post field hockey team took home the Northeast-10 Championship, holding off the fifth-ranked No. 3 seed Stonehill College by a score of 2-1.

LIU Post's Dani Crouse anchored the defense during a 2-0 week for the Pioneers. Her squad outshot its opponents (American Int’l and Stonehill) 45-22 and also held a 29-17 advantage in penalty corners. She registered a defensive save in each contest, including making the save on the lone Skyhawk shot in the overtime period.

LIU Post's Keliann Margiotta tallied 10 points (4g, 2a) on the week for the fifth-ranked Pioneers. Against East Stroudsburg, she scored the game-winner in overtime to secure the 2-1 win, and she added a hat trick and a record-setting assist in the Pioneers’ win over Adelphi as she set a new Pioneer record for assists in a season.

She totaled nine points on the week (4 goals, 1 assist), including the game winner in the Pioneers 4-3 double overtime thriller over Merrimack on Sunday.

LIU Post's Carlee Dragon led the No. 5 Pioneers to a 2-0 week with her second-straight 11 point week. She led the team in many categories on the week including points (11), goals (four), assists (T-three), shots (27), shots on goal (20), and game-winning goals (T-one). Against So. Connecticut, the senior tied her career-high with 10 points on four goals and two assists.

Stonehill's Erika Kelly led the 4th-ranked Skyhawks to a 3-0 week as she scored six of the team’s nine goals scored, including all three game-winners. She netted her third-straight hat trick with all three Stonehill goals in Tuesday’s 3-1 triumph at preseason NE-10 favorites Merrimack, and then scored the go-ahead goal in Thursday’s 3-1 victory over 10th-ranked American Int’l. Closed the week out with two goals in Saturday’s win at So. Connecticut.

She netted all three goals in Saturday’s 3-2 overtime triumph over #3 Bloomsburg, marking the first victory over the Huskies in program history, and scored four more goals in Sunday’s 6-5 comeback win at #9 East Stroudsburg.

Field Hockey Report: Week 10
UMass Lowell defeated American Int’l in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship to advance to the National Semifinals, where they will take on confernece foe, Merrimack. It will be the third meeting this year between the two teams, Merrimack won the regular season matchup, 2-1, while UMass Lowell won the Northeast-10 Championship final showdown, 3-2.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell defeated Merrimack College 3-2 in the 2011 Northeast-10 Field Hockey Championship Final. It marks the second consecutive year the River Hawks have claimed the title. UMass Lowell's Kayla Littig was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2011 Championships.

Bentley's Stephanie Sideris had seven goals and one assist for 15 points during a 2-1 week, including an impressive six goal, one assist performance in the regular season finale against So Connecticut. The 13 points was the most by a Division II player in 29 years, and the six goals tied the 2011 Division II season-high, and was just one shy of the Division II record.

Merrimack's April Daugherty helped #5 Merrimack to a 2-0 week to extend its winning streak to 14 games as she netted five goals on the week and added an assist. She scored four goals and dished out an assist in the Warriors’ 6-0 victory over Saint Michaels. Daugherty recorded her 100th career point in Merrimack’s 2-1 overtime-victory at American Int’l as she potted the game’s first goal. Daugherty became the first player in program history to amass 100 career points and it’s the second straight week she’s been honored.

Rogers broke the Division II points record with a goal and an assist in the Saint Michael's game, and scored her 79th and 80th career goals in the Southern Connecticut, breaking the Bentley record.

Jenee Clifford recorded seven points with two goals and three assists as Franklin Pierce defeated Saint Michael's and Southern Connecticut. Against the Purple Knights, Clifford netted the game-winning goal against #9 Saint Michael's, and added a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win over Southern Connecticut.

Lindsey Harrington scored the game-winning goal 4:56 into overtime to take a 1-0 road win over UMass Lowell. In a 2-0 victory over Stonehill, Harrington scored an insurance goal against the Skyhawks.

LIU Post's Carlee Dragon led the third-ranked Pioneers to a 2-0 week with a team high 11 points on four goals and three assists and was named NE-10 Player of the Week.
