MARCELLUS, N.Y. - Le Moyne leads with a team 293 and sophomore Joe Tesori (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) is the top individual at three-under after the opening round in the 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Championship at the Links at Sunset Ridge. Junior Dan McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) shot an even-par 72 and is fourth among individuals.
Le Moyne combined for a five-over par 293 to top the 12-team field. Two-time defending champion Bryant sits six strokes off the pace. The 19-time champion Bulldogs shot a 299 (+11). Bentley is third, followed by Saint Rose. Saint Michael's and Southern New Hampshire are tied for fifth, followed by Saint Anselm, Pace, Assumption, Franklin Pierce, UMass Lowell and American International.
Tesori was one of three golfers under par at the 6,700 yard course. Assumption's Mark Halibozek and Bryant's Jim O'Connell were one-under. McCarthy sits fourth at even-par. Jamie Bacon of Saint Rose and Jay Gargiulo are tied for fifth after the opening round, four shots off the pace.
A shotgun start is slated for tomorrow morning at the Links at Sunset Ridge.
