Northeast-10 Golfer of the Week
Adam Goinsalvos, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., Merrimack, NH) - Finished second out of 45 golfers at the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional, in addition he sat atop the individual leader board after day two. Recorded best round of the regional today with a two-over-par 73. Finished four strokes off the lead, as he posted a three-day score of 225 (77-75-73).
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Jamie Bacon, Saint Rose (Fr., Port Perry, Ontario) - Finished tied for 25th among 45 Northeast Regional competitors at the NCAA II Northeast/East Super Regional that concluded Wednesday. Fired an 11-over-par 82 on Wednesday, which came on the heels of Tuesday's second-round score of six-over 77. Carded a 13-over 84 at the 7,001-yard Speidel Jones Course in Wheeling, WV on Monday to wind up with a three-day total of 243.
Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:
Dan Peck, Bryant (So., North Kingstown, RI) - Finished in a tie for 12th-place at this week's NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in Wheeling, WV. Shot a second-round 75 and followed with an 81 on to help garner a second-place team finish.
Mike Philipp, Bryant (So., Bristol, CT) - Earned a top-10 finish at the NCAA Regional Championship in Wheeling, WV. Shot a third round 75 to finish in a tie for eighth place overall.
Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:
NORTHEAST-10: Bryant University claimed a share second place at the 2006 NCAA Golf Regional. Goldey-Beacom claimed the team championship with a three-day score of 929, 24 strokes better than Bryant and Saint Thomas Aquinas College, which tied for second place with a 952. Dominican College (957) and Pace University (968) rounded out the top five? BRYANT: The Bryant men's golf team finished second overall at this week's NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in Wheeling, West Virginia. The Bulldogs saw their streak of four-straight regional titles come to an end as Goldey-Beacom took first overall. Bryant will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships as a total of 10 at-large teams will be selected based on previous regional finishes.
