Northeast-10 Co-Players of the Week

Lew Finnegan, Bentley (Jr., G, Lexington, Mass.) - Led Bentley to wins over Saint Anselm and Saint Rose by averaging 22.5 points, six rebounds and 4.5 assists. Shot 63 percent overall, including 82 percent from beyond the arc (9-11). Scored 20 points (7-14 FG, 4-4 3FG) with five rebounds and four assists in a 100-78 win at Saint Anselm, and netted 25 points (10-13 FG, 5-7 3FG) with seven rebounds and five assists in an 87-72 victory over Saint Rose.

Sam Carey, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., C, Manchester, N.H.) - Shot 80-percent (28-35) from the floor and averaged 22.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week. Was 10-of-11 from the floor and finished with 23 points and 18 rebounds in a win over Merrimack. Totaled 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting in a loss to Nyack.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Kinard Dozier, Franklin Pierce (Fr., G, Dedham, Mass.) - Averaged 21.5 points, three rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a 1-1 week. Shot 57.1-percent (16-of-28) from the field, including 9-of-19 (47.4%) from three-point range, while converting both free-throw attempts for the week. Had 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field, including 4-of-9 from three-point range, while draining both free-throws, in a 63-62 victory over Stonehill. Also added four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Followed up with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting (5-10 3FG) to go with three assists and two rebounds in a loss to Le Moyne.

Weekly Honor Roll:


Patrick Shea, Assumption (Jr., G, Salem, Mass.) - Averaged 11.5 points (12-12 FT), seven rebounds, and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week. Scored 13 points (3-6 FG, 6-6 FT), grabbed nine rebounds, and had four steals at UMass Lowell. Had 10 points (6-6 FT), five rebounds, and three assists in a win over Southern Connecticut.

Jason Westrol, Bentley (So., G, Brielle, N.J.) - Shot 65 percent while averaging 19 points, five rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a pair of wins this past week. In a 100-78 win at Saint Anselm, made of 10-of -11 field goal attempts en route to 23 points. Also had seven rebounds and two steals. Chipped in with 15 points in the Saint Rose game.

Chris Birrell, Bryant (So., G, Scituate, R.I.) - Averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 assists per game in a 1-1 week. Had 10 points on 4-of-8 (.500 percent) against Southern New Hampshire and followed with a 17-point, seven-assist performance in a win at Le Moyne. Made 6-of-11 shots from the floor and 3-of-6 from three-point range while adding five rebounds.

Laurence Ekperigin, Le Moyne (So., F, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) - Averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Chipped in with three blocks and two steals while converting on 14-of-17 free-throw attempts.

Dashon Harper, UMass Lowell (Sr., G, Columbus, Ohio) - Averaged 21 points and three steals while shooting .684-percent from the field (13-19), .429 from 3-point range (3-7) and 1.000 from the free throw line (13-13) in a 2-0 week. Opened the week with 23 points and four steals while shooting 6-of-8 from the field, 2-of-3 from long range and 9-of-9 from the free throw line in an 86-74 win over Assumption. Followed with 19 points (7-11 FGs, 4-4 FTs) in an 83-64 win at Saint Michael's.

Darren Duncan, Merrimack (So., G, Briarwood, N.Y.) - Tallied 26 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in a 86-79 win over Saint Michael's. Averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 assists in two games.

Darin Mency, Merrimack (Fr., G, Hagerstown, Md.) - Averaged 19 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games this past week. Tallied 25 points in a 84-75 win over Saint Michael's.

Desmond Quincy-Jones, Pace (Sr., F, Rye, N.Y.) - Totaled 22 points and eight rebounds in the team’s lone game of the week against Saint Rose. Shot 9-for-11 from the field and 2-for-2 from long range and chipped in a pair of assists.

Ryan Williams, Pace (Sr., G, Centreville, Va.) - Scored 25 points, while chipping in five rebounds and three assists in the team’s lone game of the week against Saint Rose. Shot 10-for-19 from the field for the game.

Brian Monahan, Saint Michael's (Sr., F, Kinderhook, N.Y.) - Scored 25 points on 12-of-20 shooting against Merrimack while grabbing seven boards. Also tallied 19 points and seven rebounds versus UMass Lowell.

James Sorrentine, Saint Michael's (Sr., G, Pawtucket, R.I.) - Averaged 18 points and 3.5 assists per game this past week, including a 25 point effort against UMass Lowell on 7-of-13 shooting from beyond the arc.

Steve Dagostino, Saint Rose (Sr., G, Schenectady, N.Y.) - Averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Shot 56.0 percent (14-for-25) from the floor, including a 7-for-15 effort from beyond the arc, and hit 12-of-13 foul shots. In a victory versus Pace finished with 24 points, five assists and four rebounds. Had 23 points in an 87-72 setback at Bentley, went 8-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-8 from long range in the contest.

Evan Lane, Saint Rose (Jr., F, Sharon Springs, N.Y.) - Averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds during a 1-1 week. Shot 60.0 percent (12-for-20) from the field in the process. In a 90-84 win versus Pace, recorded 18 points and 16 rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. In a loss to Bentley, chipped in with 10 points, six boards and four assists.

Preston Bell, Southern Connecticut (Jr., F, Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Averaged 15 points and 6.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds in a win over Nyack.

A.J. Rudowitz, Stonehill (So., F, Monroe Township, N.J.) – Averaged 14 points and six rebounds in a 1-1 week. Shot 61-percent from the field and 80-percent from the free throw line, while chipping in with two steals and 1.5 blocks per game. In the win over American International, scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds.


Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: Senior forward Nate Fritsch (Durham, N.C.) became the 27th player in the program's history to reach the 1,200 career point plateau. Bentley, which has maintained the number one ranking in Division II since Nov. 27, has now won its last 43 regular season games and its last 26 home games.

PACE: Senior Ryan Williams, who became the Setters all-time leader in three-pointers earlier this season against American International, netted his 300th career three-pointer against Saint Rose. The Setters currently have three players with over 1,000 career points with Ryan Williams (1,654), Desmond Quincy-Jones (1,101) and Gibraltar White (1,047). The last time Pace had three players with 1,000 career points on the same team was in 1990-91 with Bert Brisbane, Craig Crichlow and Chris Brown.

SAINT MICHAEL’S:
Senior co-captain James Sorrentine set the all-time program record at Saint Michael's for three-pointers made in a career (306) after shooting 7-of-13 from long range against UMass Lowell. Now with 1,278 career points, Sorrentine also holds school records in three-pointers attempted in a career (777) and foul shooting percentage (11-11) in a game, all set this season.
