Northeast-10 Co-Players of the Week
Laurence Ekperigin, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) -
Averaged 22 points, while shooting at a 90.5-percent clip, 12
rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in a pair of victories for the
Dolphins. Scored 24 points (19 in the second half), grabbed 12
rebounds and blocked two shots in a 91-74 victory over Felician.
Tallied 20 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, while scoring his
1,000th career point, in a 70-53 win over Southern New
Hampshire.
Darren Duncan, Merrimack (Jr., G, Briarwood, N.Y.) - Averaged 24
points, nine assists and 5.7 rebounds during a 3-0 stretch. Scored
26 points and dished out eight assists in the win against Franklin
Pierce. In the win versus Bridgeport scored 24 points while
shooting 7-of-11 from the field. Recorded seven assists and five
rebounds. Recorded a double-double in the win versus Post with 22
points and 12 assists. Also grabbed six rebounds.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Adrian Mills, Pace (Fr., G, Woodbridge, Va.) - Averaged 17 points
and 3.8 rebounds, while shooting 49.1-percent (26-for-53) from the
field during a 2-2 span. Shot 10-for-18 from the field, finishing
with 22 points and four rebounds against Philadelphia. Went
6-for-11 from the field for 18 points, three boards and five
assists in a win over Mercy. Tallied 20 points and four rebounds on
6-for-10 shooting in a win over New Haven.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Mike Baldarelli, Assumption (So., G, Sutton, Mass.) - In a 2-1
week, averaged 19 points and five rebounds per game. In a win over
New York Tech had 24 points including a buzzer beater to win the
game. Added two assists and four steals as well as having seven
rebounds. In a game against C.W. Post scored 16 points, six
rebounds, two assists and one steal. In a win over Southern
Connecticut scored 17 points had two assists and one steal.
Kinard Dozier, Franklin Pierce (So., G, Dedham, Mass.) - Averaged
15 points, 8.5 rebounds, two blocks, two steals and 1.5 assists in
two games over the holiday break. Shot a combined 47.8-percent
(11-for-23) from the field. Recorded a double-double with 15 points
and career-high matching ten rebounds against Merrimack. Posted 15
points, a game-high seven rebounds, four blocked shots and three
steals against Adelphi.
Chris Johnson, Le Moyne (Fr., G, Lindenhurst, N.Y.) - Averaged 18
points and two assists in a pair of victories. Scored 17 points (14
in the second half) and dished out four assists in a 91-74 victory
over Felician. Tallied 19 points, while connecting on five
three-pointers, in a 70-53 win over Southern New Hampshire.
Kyle Caiola, UMass Lowell (Fr., G, Parma, Ohio) - Posted averages
of 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and two steals per game while shooting
.667 from 3-point range (4-6) in a 3-0 week. Opened the week with
17 points and seven rebounds in an 80-67 win over Bloomfield in the
Pace Holiday Classic opener (Did not play in the second round win
over Mercy - 85-41). Followed with 16 points (all but one in the
first half), six steals and three assists in the 83-47 win over
Saint Michael's.
Victor Colon, UMass Lowell (Jr., F, Chicago, Ill.) - Averaged 17
points and seven rebounds while shooting .450 from 3-point range
(9-20) and .714 from the free throw line (10-14) in a 3-0 week.
Opened with 16 points and five rebounds, hitting 4-7 3-point
attempts and followed with 16 points (4-8 FGs, 2-5 treys and 6-8
free throws) and eight rebounds in the 85-41 win over Mercy. Capped
the week with 19 points (7-15, 3-8, 2-2) and eight rebounds in an
83-47 victory over Saint Michael's.
Max Kerman, UMass Lowell (So., G, Watertown, Mass.) - Named Most
Valuable Player of the Pace Holiday Classic with averages of 16.5
points and 12.0 rebounds while shooting .500 from the field
(11-22), .600 from long range (3-5) and .727 from the free throw
line (8-11). Registered 14 points and 11 rebounds (4-8 from the
field, 6-8 from the line) in the 80-67 win over Bloomfield and
followed with career-highs of 19 points (7-14 FGs, 3-4 treys) and
13 rebounds in an 85-41 win over Mercy. Also chipped in four points
and two rebounds in the 83-47 win over Saint Michael's.
Cassius Chaney, New Haven (Jr., F, Old Saybrook, Conn.) - Averaged
15.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game over a three-game span.
Recorded a double-double against Pace, scoring a game-high 28
points and collecting 12 rebounds. Shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the
free throw line and averaged two assists over the last three
games.
Laurence McGhee, Pace (Jr., G, Linden, N.J.) - Averaged 14.8
points, 5.5 assists, three rebounds and 2.3 steals during a 2-2
stretch, while shooting 51.4-percent (18-for-35) from the field.
Recorded 12 points, three rebounds and five assists against
Philadelphia. Tallied 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting to go along
with seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals against
Bloomfield. Also shot 10-for-14 from the free throw line. Posted 20
points, two rebounds and six assists in a win over New Haven. Shot
6-for-10 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity
stripe in the win.
Thomas Baudinet, Saint Anselm (So., G, Watertown, Conn.) -
Averaged 18 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a
2-0 week, while shooting 6-for-11 from three-point land. Had 17
points and six rebounds versus Bloomfield, followed by an 18-point,
nine-rebound, five-assist showing versus Holy Family.
Pat Luptowski, Saint Anselm (So., G, Keene, N.H.) - Averaged 18.5
points, four rebounds and one steal in a 2-0 week. Shot 55 percent
from three-point land, hitting 11-of-20 attempts. Had 16 points,
four rebounds and three steals in a win over Bloomfield. In a win
over Holy Family, knocked down seven second-half three-pointers in
a 21-point outburst to defeat the Tigers.
Branimir Zeko, Saint Anselm (Jr., F, Mississauga, Ontario) -
Averaged a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double in a 2-0 week, while
shooting 56.3 percent from the field. In a win over Bloomfield, had
16 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. Followed that with a
14-point, 13-rebound effort in a victory over Holy Family.
Jermaine Clark, Saint Rose (Jr., G, Perth Amboy, N.J.) - Averaged
15 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in a 2-1 stretch over the
holiday break. Shot 47.2 percent (17-for-36) from the field,
including a 7-for-18 effort from beyond the arc. Poured in a
career-high 28 points in a 68-49 triumph over New York Tech at the
C.W. Post Holiday Invitational. Hit 10-of-14 shots from the field
and was 5-of-8 from long range. Converted the front end of a
one-and-one with three seconds left to give the Golden Knights a
74-73 overtime win versus American International. Finished with 13
points, seven boards and six assists in the contest.
Tory Stapleton, Southern New Hampshire (So., F, Rahway, N.J.) -
Averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game in a 1-2 week.
Poured in a career-high 23 points while grabbing nine rebounds in a
one point setback to Bridgeport.
A.J. Rudowitz, Stonehill (Jr., F, Monroe Township, N.J. - Averaged
17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, two steals and one block
while shooting 64 percent during a 3-0 stretch. Scored a
career-high 25 points and added 10 rebounds and five steals in a
win over Molloy. Posted 14 points and seven rebounds in the win
over Concordia. Recorded 14 points, eight rebounds and three
assists in the win over Bentley.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Bentley’s school-record and
best-in-Division II 42-game home winning streak ended on Saturday
with a 78-65 loss to Stonehill. In that same game, junior guard
Jason Westrol (Brielle, N.J.) became the 45th player in the
program’s history to reach the 1,000 career point plateau,
and the 16th to do so as a junior.
LE MOYNE: Laurence Ekperigin became the 35th
member of Le Moyne's 1,000-point club and 13th player to record
1,000 points and 600 rebounds.
MERRIMACK: Merrimack is 9-1, marking the best
ever start in the 29 year coaching history of Bert Hammel.
PACE: In a win over Mercy on December 29, senior
forward Randy Wilson became the 17th player in school history to
total 500 career rebounds. He currently has 517 for his career.
STONEHILL: The win for Stonehill over Bentley
ended a pair of streaks - a 15-game losing stretch to the Falcons
and Bentley's 42-game home court winning streak. Dave McLaughlin
now has 96 career wins at Stonehill Only three men have more in
program history. Randall Stallworth (Toms River, N.J.) now has 340
career assists.
