Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Jason Westrol, Bentley (Jr., G, Brielle, N.J.) - During a 3-0 week that included two wins over first-place teams, averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.7 steals. Shot 54 percent overall, made three of six three-pointers and knocked down nine of ten free throws. Had 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists at Merrimack, 19 points (7-8 fg) and seven assists against Saint Michael’s, and 14 points and five rebounds against Saint Anselm.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Kyle Caiola, UMass Lowell (Fr., G, Parma, Ohio) - Posted averages of 21.3 points, five rebounds, 3.3 assists and two steals while shooting .594 from the field (19-32), .471 from 3-point range (8-17) and .857 from the free throw line (18-21) in a 3-0 week. Opened the week with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 76-65 win over Le Moyne; followed with 23 points and four rebounds while shooting 7-of-9 from the floor, 2-of-4 from long range and 7-of-8 from the line in an 81-70 win at Saint Rose. Closed the week with 25 points and five rebounds while shooting 7-of-10 from the field, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 6-of-8 from the line in a 71-64 win at Pace.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Isiah Wallace, American International (Fr., G, Springfield, Mass.) - Averaged 17.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in a 2-1 week. Scored 21 points and grabbed five rebounds in a win at Southern Connecticut, netted 14 points with three boards in a win over New Haven and notched 17 points and six boards at Assumption.

Mike Baldarelli, Assumption (So., G, Sutton, Mass.) - In a 2-0 week averaged 16 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. In a win over Pace scored 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one steal. In a win over American International had 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot.

Savoy Fraine, Assumption (So., C, Grenada Hills, Calif.) - In a 2-0 week, averaged 13 points and five rebounds per game. In a win over Pace had 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. In a win over American International had 14 points, five rebounds, one assist and two blocked shots.

Brian Tracey, Bentley (So., F, Bow Mar, Colo.) - Helped Bentley to three wins by coming off the bench to average 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, two steals and 1.7 steals. Shot 59 percent overall and made 15 of his 19 2-point FGA. Had 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals at Merrimack and 17 points and eight rebounds against Saint Anselm.

Jeff Manchester, Franklin Pierce (So., G, Gorham, Maine) - Averaged 15.3 points, four rebounds and 1.7 assists in a 3-0 week. Made 47.1-percent (16-34) of his shots from the field, including 52.2-percent (12-23) from three-point range, for the week. Matched a career-high with 24 points, hitting 6-of-12 three-pointers, to go with five rebounds and three rebounds in the win over Pace. Posted 16 points, hitting 4-of-7 three's, and three rebounds in the win at Saint Michael's.

Rimas Varanauskas, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Kaunas, Lithuania) - Averaged 13.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, two assists and 2.33 blocked shots in a 3-0 week. Made 43.3-percent (13-30) of his shots from the field, including 4-of-9 (44.4%) three-pointers for the week. Posted a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds to go with four assists and career-high six blocked shots in the win over Pace. Totaled 11 points in the win over Southern Connecticut and chipped in 14 rebounds and nine points in the victory at Saint Michael's.

Laurence Ekperigin, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) - Tallied three double-doubles in averaging 18.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and two blocks per game in an 0-3 week. Opened the week with 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in a 76-65 loss at UMass Lowell. Registered 15 points and 11 rebounds in an 81-70 loss at Merrimack. Closed the week with 28 points (16 in the first half) and 16 rebounds (12 in the second half) in an 86-77 home loss to Stonehill.

Kevin Carr, UMass Lowell (Jr., G, Lancaster, Ohio) - Registered averages of 14.7 points, 4.3 assists and two steals in a 3-0 week. Highlights included a season-high 21 points and five assists while shooting 7-of-14 from the floor and 5-of-12 from long range in a 76-64 win over Le Moyne. Also chipped in 15 points in an 81-70 win at Saint Rose, as well as eight points and six assists in a 71-64 win at Pace.

Darren Ducnan, Merrimack (Jr., G, Briarwood, Mass.) - Averaged 17 points, nine assists, 2.3 steals, and four rebounds leading Merrimack to two wins in three games.

Darin Mency, Merrimack (So., G, Hagerstown, Md.) - Averaged 18 points and six rebounds leading the Warriors to a 2-1 week.

Cassius Chaney, New Haven (Jr., F, Old Saybrook, Conn.) - Averaged 14 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games this past week. Scored a game-high 17 points and added eight rebounds against American International. Had a double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds, against Post and scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in victory over Saint Rose.

Laurence McGhee, Pace (Jr., G, Linden, N.J.) - Averaged 14 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and three steals in three games. Scored 21 points, while adding two rebounds, four assists and five steals against Assumption. Tallied 15 points, six boards, four assists, and three steals against Franklin Pierce.

Greg Vetrano, Saint Anselm (Jr., G, Andover, Mass.) - Averaged 15.7 points per game, along with 2.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. Shot 42.5 percent from the field, including nine three-pointers.

Malcolm Williams, Saint Rose (Jr., F, Schenectady, N.Y.) - Averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds and three assists throughout a 1-2 week. Shot 60.0 percent (15-for-25) from the floor and was also 12-of-15 from the stripe. Tossed in a career-high 20 points in a 62-61 loss at New Haven and then contributed nine points, seven boards and three assists in an 81-70 setback versus UMass Lowell. Closed out the week with 13 points, three caroms and four helpers in a 76-72 triumph at Southern New Hampshire.

Matt Hall, Stonehill (Sr., G, Springfield, Mass.) - In a 2-0 week, averaged 15.5 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. In a win over Saint Anselm, had 12 points, six rebounds and three steals. In a win at LeMoyne finished with 19 points, two rebounds and two steals. In the two games, shot 55 percent from the field and committed just three turnovers.

BENTLEY: Senior Lew Finnegan (Lexington, Mass.) made eight steals against Saint Michael’s, breaking the Bentley single game record of 7 (Billy Holden, 1988, and Alexander Hall, 1991).
