Northeast-10 Co-Players of the Week
Cassius Chaney, New Haven (Jr., F, Old Saybrook, Conn.) - Averaged
31.5 points, six rebounds, two assists and one blocks per game in a
1-1 week, while shooting 52.4 percent (22-of-42) from the field and
53.3 percent (8-of-15) from three-point range. Scored a career-high
33 points and added seven rebounds and three assists in win over
Saint Michael's. Had 30 points, five rebounds, one block, one steal
and one assist against UMass-Lowell.
A.J. Rudowitz, Stonehill (Jr., F, Monroe Township, N.J.) - Averaged
27.5 points and nine rebounds in a 2-0 week. Had 17 points and
three rebounds in a win at Pace. Then set career-highs with 38
points and 15 rebounds and made the game-winning shot as time
expired in a 73-72 win over Merrimack. For the week, shot 22-for-32
from the field (69 percent) including 15-for-19 in the win over the
Warriors.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Tyler Schilling, Saint Michael's (Fr., F, Excelsior, Minn.) - In a
1-1 week, posted averages of 19.5 points and 13 rebounds per game.
In a 77-65 win over Saint Anselm, had career-highs of 26 points and
14 rebounds. Recorded a second straight double-double with 13
points and 12 rebounds in 58-52 overtime loss to New Haven.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Lucius Millinder, American International (Sr., F, Belleville, N.J.)
- Averaged 22.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week.
Shot 64 percent (16-25) from the field, 85.7 percent (6-7) from
3-point range and 87.5 percent (7-8) from the free throw line.
Scored 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds in a
win over Southern New Hampshire and netted 25 points with eight
boards in an overtime win over Saint Anselm. Scored 12 of the
team’s 16 overtime points against the Hawks, draining four
threes.
Isiah Wallace, American International (Fr., G, Springfield, Mass.)
- Averaged 16.5 points and six rebounds per game in a 2-0 week.
Registered a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards with two
assists and two steals in a win over Southern New Hampshire and
netted 12 points in an overtime win over Saint Anselm.
Mike Baldarelli, Assumption (So., G, Sutton, Mass.) - In a 1-1
week, averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. In a game against
Franklin Pierce, scored 12 points had six rebounds one assist and
one blocked shot. In a win over LeMoyne, scored 17 points and had
11 rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Courtland Bluford, Assumption (Jr., G, Ft. Washington, Md.) - In a
1-1 week, averaged 15 points and four rebounds per game. Also had
10 assists and four steals on the week. In a game against Franklin
Pierce, scored 19 points had three assists, four rebounds, and two
steals. In a win over LeMoyne, had 11 points, seven assists and two
steals.
Lew Finnegan, Bentley (Sr., F, Lexington, Mass. - In
Bentley’s only game of the week, scored a game-high 21 points
while shooting six of nine overall in a 79-53 win over Southern
Connecticut. Sank three of five treys and was perfect on six free
throw attempts. Also had three assists, two rebounds, a steal and a
block in 29 minutes.
Laurence Ekperigin, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) -
Averaged a double-double of 22 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in
a 1-1 week. Tallied 21 points, including 19 in the first half,
three blocks and three steals in a 71-64 non-conference win over
Felician. Registered 23 points and 16 rebounds, including 20 points
and 11 rebounds in the second half, in a 90-79 loss at
Assumption.
Chris Johnson, Le Moyne (Fr., G, Lindenhurst, N.Y.) - Averaged 20
points per game off the bench in a 1-1 week. Tallied 21 points,
while hitting five three-pointers, in a 71-64 non-conference win
over Felician. Recorded 19 points in a 90-79 loss at
Assumption.
Kyle Caiola, UMass Lowell (Fr., G, Parma, Ohio) - Registered 12.5
points per game in a 2-0 week. Scored 16 points, grabbed four
rebounds and dished three assists in a 77-70 win at New Haven.
Followed with nine points in a 66-49 win over Franklin Pierce.
Victor Colon, UMass Lowell (Jr., F, Chicago, Ill.) - Posted
averages of 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists per game in
a 2-0 week. Opened the week with 14 points, seven rebounds and four
assists in a 77-70 win at New Haven and followed with 20 points and
11 rebounds in a 66-49 win over Franklin Pierce.
Darren Duncan, Merrimack (Jr., G, Briarwood, N.Y.) - Averaged 20
points, 8.3 assists, three steals and three boards in a 2-1 week.
Scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting against #13 Stonehill.
Thomas Baudinet, Saint Anselm (So., G, Watertown, Conn.) - Averaged
23.3 points and nine rebounds, along with 1.7 assists, in three
games last week. Shot 42.9 percent from three-point land, hitting
12 three-pointers in the week. Began the week with a 13-point,
12-rebound double-double at Saint Michael's. Matched a career-high
with 27 points, including six three's, in an overtime game at
American International. Then set a career high with 30 points, led
by six three-pointers again, in a home win over Bridgeport.
Greg Vetrano, Saint Anselm (Jr., G, Andover, Mass.) - Averaged 13.7
points and 8.7 assists, along with 1.7 rebounds, in three games
last week. Had 11 points, four assists and one steal to start the
week at Saint Michael's. In a loss at American International in
overtime, had a 15-point, 15-assist double-double. His 15-assist
outing is the sixth highest single-game total in Saint Anselm
history. Ended the week with 15 points, eight assists and two
steals in a home win over Bridgeport.
Jermaine Clark, Saint Rose (Jr., G, Perth Amboy, N.J.) - Averaged
20 points, 3.5 rebounds and two assists throughout a 1-1 week. Shot
46.2 percent (12-for-26) from the floor and was 12-of-13 from the
foul line. In an 83-66 setback at Merrimack, tossed in a game-high
27 points on the strength of four 3-pointers and a 9-for-15
shooting effort from the floor. Finished with 13 points, three
boards and two assists in the 66-58 win versus Southern
Connecticut. Was also a perfect 7-for-7 from the stripe.
Troy Bowen, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., G, Nashua, N.H.) -
Averaged 14.5 points in a 1-1 week, shooting .529 from the floor
(9-17). Totaled 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting in a 78-75 OT win over
Post.
Matt Hall, Stonehill (Sr., G, Springfield, Mass.) - Averaged 14.5
points and five rebounds in a 2-0 week. Scored 14 points, had five
rebounds and two steals in a win at Pace. With Stonehill winning by
one, he stole the inbounds pass and slammed home the game clinching
basket in the final seconds. Then in the win over Merrimack, scored
10 of his 15 points in the second half as the Skyhawks eraseed a
14-point deficit en route to a 73-72 win.
Weekly Notes:
STONEHILL: A.J. Rudowitz's 38-point performance
was the first 30+ point outing for a Stonehill player since Evan
Pellerin scored 32 in a win at St. Michael's on December 19, 2004,
a span of 130 games. The 16th win for the Skyhawks means that the
class of 2009 (Matt Hall, Colin Scanlon, Nick Smith, Kevin Wilkins
and Nikola Stevanovic) have won more games than any other
graduating class in school history (77). Nick Smith (Colonia, N.J.)
moved into 15th place on the school's all-time scoring list with
1,315 points.
