Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Bentley, which moved to 16th in the
latest NABC Division II poll, captured an unprecedented fifth
consecutive Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship and
claimed sole possession of first place for the third straight year,
a feat previously achieved by only Assumption from 1990-92.
MERRIMACK: Merrimack set a school record with its 15th
conference win Saturday against Southern Connecticut. Darren Duncan
set the school for career free throws made and attempted.
SAINT ROSE: Junior guard Jermaine Clark became the
23rd player in school history to record 1,000 career points behind
a 14-point effort at Stonehill Saturday. Clark needed just seven
points heading into the game and thus has 1,007 career points at
this juncture.
STONEHILL: When Matt Hall scored 35 points in a
win over Pace on Wednesday, it marked the first time since the
1997-98 season that two different players scored 30+ points for
Stonehill in the same season. Shaun Fein had 45 against Bentley and
David Donnelly had 37 against American International. A.J. Rudowitz
scored 38 against Merrimack earlier this season. The Class of
2009's 80 career victories are the most by any graduating class in
school history. David McLaughlin became the first coach in school
history to lead Stonehill to three seasons of 20 or more wins.
