Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Laurence Ekperigin, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) -
Averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists per game, while
registering a 75-percent shooting percentage this past week.
Tallied a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 77-68
loss at American International. Scored 24 points and pulled down 11
more rebounds, including six offensive, while dishing out four
assists, blocking three shots and recording two steals in a 79-76
loss to Assumption.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Isiah Wallace, American International (Fr., G, Springfield, Mass.)
- Averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50
percent (14-28) from the field and 81.8 percent (9-11) from the
free throw line this past week. Scored 20 points to go with eight
rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Le Moyne and
netted 17 points with seven boards at Saint Anselm.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Greg Twomey, Assumption (Gr., F, Groton, Mass.) - In a 1-1 week
averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. In a game against Saint
Michael's scored 10 points and had 13 rebounds along with three
assists. In a come from behind victory over LeMoyne, scored 27
points had eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Brian Tracey, Bentley (So., F, Bow Mar, Colo.) - In a 2-0 week,
came off the bench to average 14 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5
steals. Shot .500 overall, made five of eight three-pointers and
sank three-of-four free throws. Had 18 points, eight rebounds and
three steals against Bridgeport and his second double-double (10
points, career-best 12 rebounds) at UMass-Lowell.
Jason Westrol, Bentley (Jr., G, Brielle, N.J.) - In a 2-0 week,
averaged 17 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists. Shot
57 percent from the field and made 9-of-11 free throws (.818).
Scored 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, and also recorded four
assists and four steals, in a 96-67 victory over Bridgeport. Netted
11 points in a 72-64 win at UMass-Lowell.
Jeff Manchester, Franklin Pierce (So., G, Gorham, Maine) - Averaged
16.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week. Shot
63.2-percent (12-for-19) from the field, including 8-13 (61.5%)
from three-point range, for the week. Netted a career-best 24
points as he made his first eight shots from the field, including
six three-pointers, before finish shooting 9-11 from the field (6-8
3's) overall against Lynn. Also added two rebounds and an assist.
Posted nine points, four assists and three rebounds in the win over
Eckerd.
Rimas Varanauskas, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Kaunas, Lithuania) -
Averaged 16 points and five rebounds in a 1-1 week. Shot 50-percent
(13-of-26) from the field for the week. Posted 20 points, seven
rebounds and a blocked shot against Lynn. Added 12 points, three
rebounds and an assist in 19 minutes of action in win over
Eckerd.
Kyle Caiola, UMass Lowell (Fr., G, Parma, Ohio) - Posted averages
of 18 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds while shooting .538
(14-26) in a 1-1 week. Opened the week with a season-high 26 points
in a 66-49 win at Stonehill, converting 10-of-14 field goals (3-5
from long range). Capped the week with 10 points and three assists
in a 72-64 loss to No. 13 Bentley.
Darren Duncan, Merrimack (Jr., G , Briarwood, Mass.) - Notched his
1000th career point and posted a double-double on 20 points and a
career-high 13 assists in a 89-71 win over Southern New
Hampshire.
Adrian Mills, Pace (Fr., G, Woodbridge, Va. ) - Averaged 18 points
and two assists in a 2-0 week. Scored a game-high 26 points along
with two asists and two steals in a win over Southern Connecticut.
Shot 10-for-11 from the free throw line. Netted 10 points, three
boards and two assists in a win over Saint Rose.
Thomas Baudinet, Saint Anselm (So., G, Watertown, Conn.) - In a 2-0
week, averaged 16 points, six rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
Posted a pair of 16-point games and was 8-for-9 from the free throw
line as well (88.9 percent).
Pat Luptowski, Saint Anselm (So., G, Keene, N.H.) - Averaged 14
points, six rebounds, two assists and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0
week. Shot 60 percent from the field and also 60 percent from
behind the three-point arc (6-for-10). Had 12 points in a home win
over American International.
Alex Berthiaume, Saint Michael's (Fr., G, Springfield, Mass.) - In
a 1-1 week, averaged 17.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per
game. Registered a team-high 19 points in win over Assumption.
Shea Bromirski, Saint Rose (Fr., G, Cambridge, N.Y.) - Averaged 19
points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game during a 1-1 week.
Shot 55.0 percent (11-for-20) from the floor, including a 6-for-12
effort from beyond the arc, and hit at a 90.9 percent (10-for-11)
clip from the stripe. Tossed in a season-high 23 points and buried
a pair of free throws with one minute remaining to propel the
Golden Knights over Concordia 64-63. Shot a perfect 8-for-8 from
the foul line and hit 3-of-5 from long range. Scored 15 points to
go with three boards and three assists in a 71-57 loss at Pace.
John Mazzarella, Southern Connecticut (Jr., C, Wallingford, Conn.)
- Recorded a double-double in the team’s only game of the
week. Had 20 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and five assists and
shot 9-for-11 from the field in the 70-69 loss to Pace.
Stephen Wood, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., G, South Jamaica Queens,
N.Y.) - Averaged 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two games last
week. Totaled 14 points and 11 rebounds in a setback at
Merrimack.
Randall Stallworth, Stonehill (Jr., G, Toms River, N.J.) - Averaged
19.5 points and three assists per game in a 1-1 week. Tied a
career-high with 28 points in a 72-55 win over Southern New
Hampshire. Then in a loss to UMass-Lowell had a team-high 11
points. For the week, shot 50 percent from the floor (13-for-26)
and 89 percent from the foul line (8-for-9).

MERRIMACK: Junior captain Darren Duncan became the
35th player in Merrimack history to reach 1,000 career points as
the Merrimack men’s basketball team improved to 5-0 with a
89-71 win over Southern New Hampshire Monday night at the Volpe
Gym. Merrimack's 3-0 league start is the program's best in 19
years, dating back to when the 1989-1990 Warriors opened the
conference season with seven straight wins.
