Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Laurence Ekperigin, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) -
Scored a career-best 40 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the 82-61
victory over Saint Michael's. Knocked down 15-of-17 shots from the
field and 10-of-14 free throws. Also added three blocks and a pair
of assists.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Isiah Wallace, American International (Fr., G, Springfield, Mass.)
- Averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4.5 assists and two steals in a
2-0 week. Scored a career-high 29 points on 8-of-11 shooting from
the field and 12-of-13 shooting from the free throw line in a win
over Franklin Pierce. Also notched nine rebounds, four assists and
three steals against the Ravens. Then scored 15 points and grabbed
a career-high 15 boards with five assists in a win over
Dowling.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Adrian Hynes-Guery, American International (Fr., G, Montreal,
Que.) - Averaged 16 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists per game
in a 2-0 week. Scored a career-high 21 points with five rebounds
and four assists in a win over Franklin Pierce and netted 11 points
with five rebounds and three assists in a win over Dowling.
Savoy Fraine, Assumption (So., F, Granada Hills, Calif.) - In a
game against UMass Lowell scored 17 points, had four rebounds and
two blocked shots.
Lew Finnegan, Bentley (Sr., F, Lexington, Mass.) - In a 2-0 week,
averaged 24 points and five rebounds, tied the Bentley single game
record with eight threes against Saint Rose and became the 44th
1,000-point scorer in school history. Had a career-best 29 points
in the Saint Rose game, and scored 17 of his 19 points against
Concordia in the first-half of a 96-65 rout. Shot .517 from the
field, made 11-of -21 three-pointers and converted seven of eight
free throws. Also had four steals and four assists in the two
games.
Jason Westrol, Bentley (Jr., G, Brielle, N.J.) - In a pair of wins
this past week, averaged 21 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists and
three steals, and shot 60 percent from the floor (18-30). Had 21
points, seven rebounds and three steals in a 78-51 win at Saint
Rose, and 21 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals
against Concordia in a 96-65 victory.
Craig Shepherd, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Grantham, N.H.) - Posted
a season-high 12 points to go with six rebounds and two steals in
the team’s lone game of the week at American International.
Made 5-of-9 shots from the field, including 2-of-4
three-pointers.
Kyle Caiola, UMass Lowell (Fr., G, Parma, Ohio) - Scored 19 points
and recorded four rebounds and three steals in a 74-65 victory over
Assumption. Shot 6-for-11 from the floor (2-6 from 3-point range)
and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
Max Kerman, UMass Lowell (So., G, Watertown, Mass.) - Registered
15 points, eight rebounds and two steals in a 74-65 win over
Assumption. Shot 4-for 4-from the field (all from 3-point range)
and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.
Cassius Chaney, New Haven (Jr., F, Old Saybrook, Conn.) - Scored
23 points on 8-of-12 from the field, including 1-of-1 from
three-point range, and added six rebounds in a victory over
Southern Connecticut. Averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and one
block per game for the week.
Nate Birr, Saint Michael's (So., G, Burnsville, Minn.) - In a 0-1
week, scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go along with four
rebounds.
Shea Bromirski, Saint Rose (Fr., G, Cambridge, N.Y.) - Scored 19
points in a 78-51 setback versus Bentley in the team’s lone
game of the week. Connected on his first four 3-pointers of the
contest en route to a 5-for-9 effort from beyond the arc. Wound up
going 7-for-14 from the floor and added an assist.
John Mazzarella, Southern Connecticut (Jr., C, Wallingford, Conn.)
- Averaged a double-double in two games this past week with 10
points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Also totaled seven blocks and
six assists. Scored 12 points off 6-of-10 shooting from the field
and grabbed 13 rebounds in the loss to Stonehill.
Tory Stapleton, Southern New Hampshire (So., F, Rahway, N.J.) -
Averaged 13 points and 8.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Totaled 17
points on 8-of-17 shooting against New Haven, then finished with
nine points and 12 rebounds against Mercy.
Stephen Wood, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., F, South Jamaica
Queens, N.Y.) - Recorded a pair of double-doubles and averaged 17.5
points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals per game while
shooting .474 from the floor. Recorded 12 points, 10 assists and
six assists in a win over New Haven, then recorded career-highs of
23 points and 14 rebounds while also adding three steals in a win
over Mercy.
A.J. Rudowitz, Stonehill (Jr., F, Monroe, N.J.) - Averaged 14.5
points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting .542 in a 2-0 week. In a win
over Southern Connecticut had 15 points and eight rebounds then had
14 points and seven rebounds in a win over Concordia.
Randall Stallworth, Stonehill (Jr., G, Toms River, N.J.) -
Averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists during a 2-0
week. Pumped in 21 second-half points in a win over Southern
Connecticut, that included 13 straight and 19 in the final 6:54.
Then in a non-league win over Concordia, recorded eight rebounds,
seven assists and two steals.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Senior Lew Finnegan became the third player in
Bentley history to make eight three-pointers in a game, doing so in
Monday’s 78-51 win at Saint Rose. In the same game, Finnegan
became the 44th 1,000-point scorer in the program’s history.
Sunday’s 96-65 victory over Concordia extended
Bentley’s best-in-Division II home winning streak to 41
games. The Falcons dropped out of the top 25 this past week, ending
their string of consecutive appearances in the rankings at 30.
LE MOYNE: Junior Laurence Ekperigin scored a career-best
40 points in the 82-61 victory over Saint Michael's on Saturday.
His 40 points were one point short of the school’s individual
game points record of 41 shared by Richard Kenyon '56 and Philip
Harlow '73.
