Northeast-10 Men's Basketball Weekly Report For Contests Through March 18, 2008
Bentley's Nate Fritsch was named the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Northeast Regional after averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and four assists for the champion Falcons. Fritsch shot 53 percent from three (9-17) and 79 percent from the line (11-14), and played 89 minutes in the tournament without a turnover. He scored 17 points against both Bryant and Assumption, and 16 versus Merrimack.

Bentley College: 'Unbeaten Bentley Earns 2nd Straight Trip to Elite Eight, 88-72'

All of those apply to what the Bentley mens basketball team achieved with an 88-72 win over Assumption College in the 2008 NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championship game Tuesday night before a standing room only crowd of more than 3,200 at the Dana Center.

Saint Rose head coach Brian Beaury has built the mens basketball team into one of the elite programs in all of Division II. He has never had a losing season during his 22 years at the school and got his team to the NCAA tournament 11 times.

Northeast-10 Men's Basketball Weekly Report For Contests Through March 9, 2008
Bentley's Jason Westrol helped undefeated Bentley repeat as Northeast-10 tournament champions, averaging 17.7 points, six rebounds, five assists and 2.7 steals while shooting 55 percent from the field and 89 percent from the line. Westrol scored 20 points in a first-round overtime win over Le Moyne, and had 23 points (6-9 FG, 11-11 FT) in the championship game against Assumption.

Bentley College: Career-Bests by Westrol & Dowling Propel #1 Bentley to 30-0 & NE-10 Crown
Undefeated Northeast-10 Conference playoff champions for the second straight year. Incredible! Sophomore guard Jason Westrol scored 23 points, matching his career-best, and freshman guard Tom Dowling came off the bench to produce a career-best 20 points, along with eight rebounds, as Bentley ran its record to 30-0 with a 93-77 win over third-seeded Assumption College in the championship game of the NE-10 mens basketball championships.

Michael Gore sat on the bench his first two seasons with the University of Massachusetts at Lowell men's basketball team. He was frustrated, and wondered whether he would see any playing time. But he was also patient, and attentive, while waiting for his opportunity to make a contribution.

Northeast-10 Men's Basketball Weekly Report For Contests Through March 2, 2008
UMass Lowell's Mike Gore posted averages of 23.5 points and five rebounds while shooting .667 from the field in a 1-1 week. Gore dropped 23 points (10-14 FGs) in a 61-60 loss to Saint Rose in the regular season finale. He then followed with 24 points and six rebounds (10-16 FGs) in the upset win over Merrimack in the NE-10 Tournament first round.
