Stonehill is a selective Catholic
college located near Boston on a beautiful 375-acre campus in
Easton, Massachusetts. With a student:faculty ratio of 13:1, the
College engages over students in 70+ rigorous academic programs in
the liberal arts, sciences, and pre-professional fields. The
Stonehill community helps students to develop the knowledge,
skills, and character to meet their professional goals and to live
lives of purpose and integrity.
Academic Programs & Partnerships
Stonehill’s academic program is complemented by our Honors
Program, several Honor Societies and clubs and organizations. The
college recognizes and rewards excellence via several types of
scholarships, grants and academic awards for students and
faculty.
Several academic partnerships also serve to extend the Stonehill
experience beyond the boundaries of the physical campus. Stonehill
has cultivated several partnerships with institutions like
University of Notre Dame, Simmons College, the Marine Studies
Consortium and the Southeastern Association for Cooperation of
Higher Ed in MA (SACHEM) among others.
Each year, professors partner with students to do joint-research
through the Stonehill Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)
Program. Practical professional experience is also gained though
our international as domestic internships in Washington D.C., New
York City and the metro Boston Area. Stonehill, whose study-abroad
program is ranked among the top 20 in the nation, is recognized
among its peers as a leader in experiential and community-based
learning.
Faith & Service
Established by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948,
Stonehill’s educational philosophy is based on that of Holy
Cross Founder, Blessed Basil Anthony Moreau (1799-1873). Chief
among Moreau’s beliefs was that ‘education engages the
whole person—mind and heart.’
Throughout their four years at the College, Stonehill students live
that philosophy by participating in any one of the College’s
community service and volunteer programs where they continue to
develop the leadership skills and sense of social responsibility
that they brought to our campus as First Year Students.
Service-learning is also a component of selected courses at the
College.
