Northeast-10 Co-Players of the Week
Kevin Hoagland, Bryant (Jr., A, Glastonbury, Conn.) - Scored four
goals and added three assists in the 16-7 win over Adelphi. Had two
first quarter goals and later added two more tallies in the
fourth.
Chris Murphy, Saint Anselm (Jr., A, Winchester, Mass.) - Finished
with five goals and two assists in a 24-3 rout of Emerson in the
Hawks' season opener.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Michael Kennedy, Bryant (Sr., G, Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) -
Made 13 saves and allowed just seven goals in the 16-7 win over
Adelphi.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Matt Larson, Bryant (Fr., A, Cheshire, Conn.) - Had a goal and
assist to help lead Bryant past Adelphi 16-7. Tallied the team's
second goal of the game and added an assist in the team's fourth.
Also added a pair of ground balls.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Chris Bird, Assumption (Sr., G, North Andover, Mass.) - Made 19
saves (.576 save pct) in the season opener at C.W. Post.
Kevin Jurgens, Assumption (Jr., A, Needham, Mass.) - Scored two
goals, including a man-up goal, and added an assist in the season
opener at C.W. Post.
Nicholas Violandi, Assumption (Fr., A, Duxbury, Mass.) - Scored his
first collegiate goal in the season opener at C.W. Post.
Jim Long, Bryant (Jr., M, Durham, N.H.) - Recorded a hat trick with
three goals and added an assist in the 16-7 win over Adelphi.
Scored the team's first goal of the game and added back-to-back
tallies in the third quarter.
Ryan McDonald, Saint Anselm (So., M, Bow, N.H.) – Scored one
goal and recorded four assists in a 24-3 win over Emerson in the
Hawks' season opener.
Matt O'Connell, Saint Anselm (So., A, Charlestown, Mass.) - Had a
five-point afternoon with two goals and three assists in a 24-3 win
over Emerson.
Weekly Notes:
BRYANT: Bryant recorded its first win over Adelphi
in six tries Saturday with a 16-7 win. Bryant is ranked No. 6 by
the USILA Coaches Preseason poll. Kevin Hoagland's four goals
Saturday gives the junior 60 for his career.
