Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Michael Mashkevich, Stonehill (So., No. 1 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Framingham, Mass.) - Mashkevich posted a 6-0 week (3-0 singles, 3-0
doubles). He improved for 4-0 in conference play with three NE-10
victories at first singles. He also earned three wins at first
double with wins over SNHU, Franklin Pierce and Pace.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Neil Mirchandani, Pace (Fr., No. 2 Singles/No. 1 Doubles, East
Brunswick, N.J.) - Won six of eight matches played at No. 2 singles
and No. 1 doubles against American International, Le Moyne and
Bentley this past week. Won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2
singles versus Bentley and won 6-2, 6-1 versus American
International.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Miles Holman, Bentley (Jr., No. 1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, East
Longmeadow, Mass.) - Went 2-0 last week, winning at top-flight
singles and second doubles to help the Falcons to a 6-3 win over
Pace.
Matt Sansoucie, Bentley (So., No. 5 Singles, Tewksbury, Mass.)
– Won at fifth singles in straight sets to help the Falcons
to a 6-3 win over Pace.
Chris Schoder, Bentley (Fr., No. 6 Singles, Weston, Fla.) - Won a
straight sets victory at sixth singles to help the Falcons to a 6-3
win over Pace on.
Cristian Balestrieri, Bryant (Fr., No. 1 Singles, Mar Del Plata,
Argentina) - Had wins at No. 1 singles in back-to-back 9-0 team
victories over Le Moyne and Saint Michael's . Took a 6-3, 6-1 win
versus Le Moyne and followed it with a 6-3, 6-3 performance versus
Saint Michael’s. Also paired up with Kevin Gardiner for a 9-8
(7-5) win over Saint Michael's at No. 1 doubles.
Jose Rodriguez, Bryant (So., No. 2 Singles, Trujillo, Peru) - Led
the Bulldogs to back-to-back 9-0 wins this past weekend, beating Le
Moyne Saint Michael's. Took a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles versus
Le Moyne before taking a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win versus Saint
Michael’s. Also paired up with Thomas Novak for an 8-3 win at
No. 1 doubles against Le Moyne and an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles
against Saint Michael's.
Steve Viglione, Merrimack (Jr., No. 5 Singles, No. 1 Doubles,
Shelton, Conn.) - Posted a 2-2 record in singles in Orlando last
week to go with a 1-3 doubles record. Won the lone match for
Merrimack against Luther in singles.
Chris Darnowski, Saint Anselm (Sr., No. 4 Singles/No. 3 Doubles,
Barrington, R.I.) - Picked up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 4
singles in the Hawks' only match of the week, a 5-4 loss to
American International. Paired with Corey Boudreau to win 9-8 (7-1)
in the No. 3 doubles position before winning at No. 4 singles 6-0,
6-4.
Thomas Pickin, Saint Anselm (So., No. 5 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Newport, R.I. ) - Picked up wins at No. 2 doubles and No. 5 singles
in the team’s only match of the week, a 5-4 loss to American
International. Paired with Chris Tremblay to win at No. 2 doubles,
9-7. Then went on to a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles.
Jason Allegretti, Stonehill (Jr., No. 3 Singles, Lincoln, R.I.)
– Recorded three victories this past week. Won 6-3, 6-0,
versus Southern New Hampshire and versus Franklin Pierce won in
straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Came up with a win versus Pace, 6-0.
6-1.
Tim Fayed, Stonehill (Fr., No. 2 Singles, Glastonbury, Conn.) - Had
a 6-0 week (3-0 in singles competition, 3-0 in first doubles
action). Won versus Franklin Pierce 6-0, 6-0 and also won versus
Pace 6-2, 6-3.
