Northeast-10 Player of the Week
John Seaward, Merrimack (Sr., No. 3 Singles/No. 1 Doubles, Pomfret,
Conn.) - Was 7-1 this past week, including 4-0 in singles play,
finishing the season 10-0 in singles' conference action.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Rishi Rajpal, Merrimack (Fr., #1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, New Delhi,
India) - Picked up six wins in eight matches this past week, going
3-1 in both singles and doubles play. Finished the regular season
6-1 in singles conference matches.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Ryo Miyazaki, Franklin Pierce (Fr., No. 5 Singles, Tokyo, Japan) -
Posted a 2-0 record in singles matches last week. Notched a 6-1,
6-2 win in fifth singles at Assumption and recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win
in fifth singles at Saint Anselm.
Helder Noguiera, Franklin Pierce (Sr., No. 1 Singles/Doubles,
Dourados, Brazil) - Posted a 2-0 singles record and a 1-1 doubles
record last week. Recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win in first singles at
Assumption and followed that up with a 6-2, 6-2 win in first
singles at Saint Anselm. Teamed with Adit Phataraprasit to post a
9-7 win in first doubles at Saint Anselm.
Ben Jordan, Le Moyne (Sr., No. 6 Singles/No. 3 Doubles, Cassville,
N.Y.) - In a 9-0 win over Utica, won at the sixth singles position
in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Also teamed up with Chris Meeker at
third singles to pick up an 8-0 victory.
James Shelp, Le Moyne (Fr., No.3 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, Pittsford,
N.Y.) - In a 9-0 win over Utica, won at the third singles position
in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. Also teamed up with David Norton at
second doubles to pick up an 8-3 victory.
Tim Fayed, Stonehill (So., No. 1 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Glastonbury, Conn.) - Went 2-0 in two singles matches and also had
two wins at No. 1 doubles. His wins in singles and doubles against
Merrimack helped the team clinch their first NE-10 regular season
crown.
John Lescure, Saint Michael's (Sr., No. 1 Singles/Doubles,
Kennebunk, Maine) - In a 2-1 week, collected two wins at No. 1
singles and doubles. In a 9-0 team win over American International,
won at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0, and 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. In a 7-2
team win over Assumption, won at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1, and 8-4 at
No. 1 doubles.
Sean Steigerwald, Saint Michael's (Sr., No. 2 Singles/No. 1
Doubles, North Andover, Mass.) - In a 2-1 week, totaled two wins at
No. 2 singles and two wins at No. 1 doubles. In a 9-0 team win over
American International, won at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0, and 8-4 in
No. 1 doubles. In a 7-2 team win over Assumption, won at No. 2
singles 6-4, 6-4, and 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Luis Ramirez, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., No. 2 Singles/No. 1
Doubles, San Cristobal, Venezuela) - Posted singles and doubles
wins in the team’s lone match of the week against American
International.
David Spaggiari, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., No. 1
Singles/Doubles, Manizales, Colombia) - Posted singles and doubles
wins in the team’s lone match of the week against American
International.
William Herchel, Stonehill (Sr., No. 5 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Hampden, Mass.) - Went 2-0 with two straight set wins at No. 5
singles and won two matches at No. 2 doubles. Won in both singles
and doubles against Merrimack to help the team clinch their first
NE-10 regular season crown.
Jason Allegretti, Stonehill (Sr., No.4 Singles/ No.2 Doubles,
Lincoln, R.I.) - Won two singles matches in straight sets and also
went 2-0 in doubles this past week. Won 6-3, 6-4, and in doubles
against Merrimack to help clinch the team’s first NE-10
regular season title.
