Northeast-10 Names Men's and Women's Tennis All Academic Teams

The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2008 Men's and Women's Tennis All Academic Teams. The Northeast-10 All Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

Northeast-10 Champion Bryant Among NE-10 School's Selected in NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Tournament

The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee has selected the teams and 16 first- and second-round sites of the 2008 NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships. Three Northeast-10 team's selected including automatic qualifier Bryant University, Merrimack College and Stonehill College.

Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Weekly Report For Contests Through April 27, 2008

Bryant's Cristian Balestrieri helped lead Bryant to the men’s conference title with a pair of singles wins at No. 1 and three doubles wins this past week. Balestrieri defeated Le Moyne 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and defeated Stonehill 6-3, 6-3 in the finals.

Bryant University’s Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) has been named the 2008 Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Vern Cox Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

Bryant Claims Top Seed In 2008 Men’s Tennis Championship

The Bryant University Bulldogs finished the 2007-2008 Northeast-10 portion of their schedule undefeated at 10-0 and in doing so has claimed the top seed in the Men’s Tennis Championship presented by Webster Bank.

Merrimack's John Seaward posted a 6-0 record this past week, recording three wins in both singles and doubles. Seaward defeated American International, Stonehill and Saint Michael’s in second singles and first doubles.

Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Weekly Report For Contests Through April 13, 2008

Merrimack's John Seaward was 6-0 this past week, winning three singles matches and three doubles. Seaward led the Warriors to a 5-4 victory over Bentley, winning singles match 6-1, 6-3. He did not lose a set this past week.

Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Weekly Report For Contests Through April 6, 2008

Franklin Pierce's Austin Gardella won seven of eight matches last week, winning all four first-doubles contests and going 3-1 at first singles. Gardella finished with a pair of wins in the team’s 6-3 victory over Saint Anselm, posting an 8-4 first-doubles win and taking a 6-1, 6-3 decision at first singles.

Stonehill's Michael Mashkevich posted a 6-0 week (3-0 singles, 3-0 doubles). Mashkevich also earned three wins at first double with wins over Southern New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce and Pace.
