Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Sarah Reed, Le Moyne (Sr., OF, Jamesville N.Y.) - In a 6-6 week at the Rebel Spring Invitational hit .415 and drove in 15 runs on 17 hits, including two doubles and one triple. Additionally, scored eight runs and stole one base.

Northeast-10 Pitcher and Freshman of the Week

Kelsey Vella, Bentley (Fr., SP, Hampden, Mass.) - In her collegiate debut, pitched a three-hitter in a 2-1 win over Queens. Did not allow an earned run, walked one and struck out five.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Briana Kneeland, Bentley (Sr., OF, Winthrop, Mass.) - Helped Bentley open the season with two wins in three games by hitting .545 (6-11) with a triple, two runs scored and three RBI. In a 2-1 win over Queens, scored the winning run and had three hits. Also had two hits in a 6-3 win over Shippensburg.

Nicole Baginski, Saint Anselm (Jr., 1B, Beverly, Mass.) - In a 6-4 Florida trip, was 13-for-33 at the plate (.393) with six runs scored, three doubles, five runs batted in and two walks.

Brittney Birch, Saint Anselm (Jr., C, Bradford, Mass.) - In a 6-4 Florida trip for the Hawks, was 18-for-35 at the plate (.514) with 10 runs scored, four walks, three runs batted in and one stolen base.

BENTLEY:
Two games into the 2008 season, the Bentley softball team had already matched its total win count from all of last season. It was the first time since 1999 the Falcons had won their first two games.
