Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Kellie Brown, American International (Jr., 1B, Gill, Mass.) - Batted .500 (9-18) with 10 RBI, eight runs scored, four doubles, one triple and two home runs. Went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth in the 11-1 win over Queens and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored a triple and a two-run walk-off bomb in the bottom of the eighth in a 5-3 win over Ferris State. Was also 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored against Rollins.

Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week

Sara Swepston, American International (So., SP, Dallas, Pa.) - Went 2-0 with two complete games in three appearances with 0.79 ERA in 17.2 innings this past week. Allowed just two earned runs in the 5-3 extra innings victory over Ferris State and went seven innings without allowing an earned run in the 5-2 win over Bentley. Also tossed 2.2 scoreless innings in relief against Rollins.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Michelle Franey, American International (So., 2B, Abington, Mass.) - Batted .368 (7-19) with six runs scored and two RBI from the leadoff spot this past week. Was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and one RBI in the win over Queens and went 1-for-4 with a pair of runs in the extra innings victory over Ferris State. Went 2-for 4-with a run scored against Rollins.

Diane Morrison, Bentley (Sr., SP, Massapequa, N.Y.) - In two starts, was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in eight innings. Allowed only five hits, one unearned run and one walk with six strikeouts.

Kimberly Breton, Bryant (So., OF, Leominster, Mass.) - Served as the catalyst for the Bryant offense, collecting eight hits from the leadoff spot. Was on base at a .417 clip and scored five runs.

Anne Dobmeier, Bryant (Jr., 1B, Buffalo, N.Y.) - Collected five hits this past week for a .417 batting average and walked six times for an on-base percentage of .588. Knocked in four runs and slugged .500 on the week.

Kate Thomas, Bryant (Jr., OF, Bedford, N.H.) - Knocked three extra base hits this past week and slugged .667, including a grand slam in the win over Hillsdale.

Stacey Lajoie, UMass Lowell (Jr., OF, Gardner, Mass.) - Batted 3-for-5 with one run, one RBI and a walk in losses to Georgian Court (6-1) and Tiffin University (17-4) to open the season. Highlighted with a 2-for-3 effort with one run in the loss to Georgian Court.

Megan Caporossi, Southern Connecticut (So., DH, Northford, Conn.) - Batted .345 (10-for-29) with two home runs and eight RBI in nine games this week. Also converted one stolen base attempt.

Khristle Lee, Southern Connecticut (Jr., SS, Aztec, N.M.) - Had a .385 batting average (10-for-26) in nine games this past week. Also drove in two runs and stole two bases.

Katie Mottau, Stonehill (Jr., SP, Woonsocket, R.I.) - Pitched six strong innings striking out three in the 5-4 win over Dowling. Allowed only four runs on eight hits with two walks.

Courtney Young, Stonehill (Jr., DH, Danvers, Mass.) - In the DH spot, went 2-for-4 and 3-for-4 in the two wins over Dowling. Also belted in five RBI.

BENTLEY: Bentley finished its Florida trip with a 4-4 record, doubling last year's win total for the season, and the best start for the Falcons since 1999.
