Northeast-10 Player and Pitcher of the Week

Sarah Reed, Le Moyne (Sr., OF, DeWitt, N.Y.) - In capturing the program's second NE-10 Championship, was named the tournament's MVP hitting .538 with two doubles, four home runs and drove in seven. Additionally, earned two of the Dolphins' four wins in the circle. Threw 15.1 innings, holding the opponents to 14 hits and a 2.74 ERA.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Elena Anderson, Southern New Hampshire (Fr., OF, Salem, Wis.) - Batted .571 (4-7) with two doubles and two runs batted in a doubleheader against Assumption

Weekly Honor Roll:

Amanda Monge, Assumption (Sr., C, Wilmington, Mass.) - In the team’s lone doubleheader of the week, went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and three RBI in a split with Southern New Hampshire.

Korina Salafia, Assumption (Sr., DH, Leominster, Mass.) - In the team's lone doubleheader of the week, went 3-for-6 with two doubles, a run scored, and two RBI in a split with Southern New Hampshire.

Lauren Symonick, Assumption (Sr., SP, Northbridge, Mass.) - Pitched a complete game victory over Southern New Hampshire in game one, allowing two runs, no walks, and four strikeouts.

Dina Ferriero, Bentley (Jr., OF, Tewksbury, Mass.) - Hit .385 (5-13) in the final four games of the season with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Reached the century mark in career hits.

Christina Pane, Pace (Jr., OF, Stony Point, N.Y.) - Went 3-for-5 with one run scored and one stolen base in a 1-1 weekend at the NE-10 Tournament. Went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the opening round win over UMass Lowell. Went 1-for-2 against Le Moyne in the semifinals.

Kiryl Shada, Pace (Jr., SP, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) - Posted a 1-0 record with a 0.75 ERA, while striking out seven in 9 1/3 innings as the Setters went 1-1 in the NE-10 Tournament. Tossed an eight inning complete game four-hitter, while striking out seven in the opening round win over UMass Lowell. Pitched 1.1 innings in relief against Le Moyne, allowing one unearned run on one hit.

Ashley Harkins, Saint Michael's (Jr., SS, Colchester, Vt.) - Helping Saint Michael's snap a 20-game losing streak, went 3-for-6 against Franklin Pierce with four RBI to grab a 12-1 win in the opener. In the win, knocked in a three-run triple as part of 10-run sixth inning.

Karissa Bettencourt, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., OF, Norton, Mass.) - Batted .571 (4-7) with a triple and an RBI in a doubleheader against Assumption.

Jessica Dempsey, Southern Connecticut (Sr., SP, Stratford, Conn.) - Surrendered only 10 hits and one earned run in 18.2 innings of work to post a 0.38 earned run average. Hurled two complete game, four-hit shutouts in the week. Struck out nine batters and walked only two.


Weekly Notes:

PACE: With 29 wins they tied for the third most in school history, tying the 1989 and 1999 teams. Junior outfielder Christina Pane finished the season with a .438 batting average, good for third on the school single season record list. Head Coach Claudia Stabile ends the season with 495 career victories.

SAINT ROSE:
The Golden Knights earned their first berth in the NE-10 Tournament since joining the league at the outset of the 2001 campaign. Furthermore, Saturday marked the first postseason appearance for Saint Rose since 1996. Junior right-hander Tracy Chesebrough closed out the year with a single-season school record 224 strikeouts. Additionally, senior right-hander Kristen Calahan is the College's all-time leader in strikeouts with 519.
