Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Caitlin O’Neill, Le Moyne (Sr., 3B, Pittsford, N.Y.) - Hit
.750 (6-for-8) with two doubles and a run batted in to lead the
three victories at the EastRegional and advance the team to the
NCAA East Super Regional. Opened the regional with two hits against
Dominican in a 3-2 victory. Capped the regional with three hits,
including a double, and drove in a run in 7-1 win over Caldwell in
the finals.
Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Week
Jennifer Farrelly, Le Moyne (Sr., SP, Latham, N.Y.) - Hit .429
(3-for-7) at the plate with a double, a home run, two RBI and a run
scored and went 1-0 with a save and a 0.70 ERA in 10 innings
pitched in a 3-0 week. Tossed three innings to pick up the save,
while allowing just an unearned run, in the 2-1 win over Caldwell
in the semi-finals. Capped the regional a home run, and struck out
five over seven innings pitched to record the victory in 7-1 win
over Caldwell in the finals.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Alyssa Pagano, Southern Connecticut (Fr., OF, Monroe, Conn.) - Went
2-for-5 with a walk in two games in the NCAA Tournament last week.
Against Georgian Court, blasted a go-ahead solo homerun and tallied
an on-base-percentage of .500. Collected five total bases as well
(1.000 slugging percentage).
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kelcie Cashel, Le Moyne (Fr., OF, Lacona, N.Y.) - Hit .273
(3-for-11) with a double, a run batted in and two runs scored in a
3-0 week. Opened the regional with a hit and a run scored against
Dominican in a 3-2 victory. Drove in the first run of the game in
the 2-1 win over Caldwell in the semi-finals and capped the
regional with a double and a run scored in the 7-1 win over
Caldwell in the finals.
Nicole Downs, New Haven (Jr., 3B, Seymour, Conn.) - Hit a
game-winning home run to defeat C.W. Post in the opening game of
the NCAA Championship. Finished the week with a .308 batting
average. Went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and one RBI in two wins
over C.W. Post. Hit an RBI triple against Georgian Court.
Breanne Gleason, New Haven (Jr., SP, Bristol, Conn.) - Pitched two
complete game shutouts in the NCAA Regional, both against C.W.
Post. Finished with eight strikeouts while allowing just four hits
in the first contest. Struck out four and allowed three hits in the
second game against C.W. Post. Finished with a 1.62 ERA for the
week.
Weekly Notes:
NEW HAVEN: The Chargers concluded their season in
the NCAA East Regional Championship round for the second-straight
season. Junior Nicole Downs became the Chargers all-time leader in
home runs with a one-run homer on Friday. The team finished with 34
wins this season, third most in program history and the most since
1995.
