Northeast-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week
Tom Ferrigno, Bryant (Jr., West Chester, Pa.) – Won the
200-yard IM and 200-yard backstroke in the team’s win over
Roger Williams. Also raced in the winning 400-yard medley relay
team and captured top honors in the 200-yard backstroke in the
Bentley Invitational.
Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the
Week
Jess Looney, Bryant (So., Goffstown, N.H.) - Captured first place
in the 200-yard IM against Roger Williams and took first in the
200-yard backstroke (2:15.43) at the Bentley Invitational along
with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle at Bentley.
Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Brandon Birchak, Saint Rose (Sr., Latham, N.Y.) - Set both meet
and pool records in the one-meter competition by accumulating
340.45 points. Also broke his own meet and pool standards on the
three meter board with a score of 367.70 points to help Saint Rose
take third at the Bentley Invitational.
Northeast-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Alex Bergantz, Bentley (So., Trumbull, Conn.) - Captured both
diving events in the Bentley Invitational, with scores of 203.90 on
the one-meter and 215.15 on the three-meter.
Northeast-10 Men’s Co-Freshman of the Week
Steven Nyugen, Bryant (Fr., San Jose, Calif.) - Swam to
first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard
freestyle in the team’s win over Roger Williams and was also
a member of the winning 400-yard medley relay.
Yoshi Kameyama, Pace (Fr., Goshen, N.Y.) - Won the 50-yard
freestyle with a time of 22.71 and 100-yard freestyle with a school
record time of 49.34 at the Bentley Invitational. Also won the
50-yard freestyle event in a dual meet with the College of Staten
Island.
Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week
Jill Squillante, Bryant (Fr., Sayville, N.Y.) - Took first-place
finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard backstroke as
well as led off the winning 400-yard medley relay in the
team’s win over Roger Williams. Also took second place in the
100-yard freestyle at the Bentley Invitational.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Liza Connolly, Bentley (Sr., Washington, Conn.) - In the
season-opening Bentley Invitational, swam the anchor leg on the
winning 400 medley relay team (4:13.78), placed second in the 50
freestyle (25.94) and was third in the 100 free (56.80).
Anne Kaduboski, Bentley (Fr., Dedham, Mass.) - Finished second at
the Bentley Invitational in both the 200 freestyle (2:00.72) and
the 200 butterfly (2:17.00) after swimming the third leg on the
winning 400 medley relay team (4:13.78).
Erin Johanson, Pace (So., Wakefield, Mass.) - At the Bentley
Invitational, placed sixth in the 200-yard back stroke with a time
of 2:21.57 and took seventh place in the 200-yard freestyle with a
time of 2:07.07. Was the second leg of the seventh place 400-yard
medley relay team.
Meaghan Morley, Pace (Sr., Delhi, N.Y.) - Finished fourth in the
200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:19.80 and placed eighth in the
50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.79 at the Bentley Invitational.
Was the first leg of the seventh place 400-yard medley relay
team.
Tierney Carey, Saint Michael's (Jr., Newton, Conn.) - Placed third
in both the one-meter diving and three-meter diving events, helping
Saint Michael's to a seventh place finish overall at the Bentley
Invitational.
Aidan Warhall, Saint Michael's (Fr., West Haven, Conn.) - Placed
third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.93 at the
Bentley Invitational, leading Saint Michael's in a seventh place
finish.
Michael Buyes, Saint Rose (Sr., Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) - Touched
third in both the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events and also
anchored the third place 400 free relay quartet. Swam a 5:09.28 in
the 500 and hit the wall in 10:50.63 in the 1,000.
Christine Lockwood, Saint Rose (Fr., Binghamton, N.Y.) - Finshed
fifth in the 200 IM and was sixth in the 500 free with respective
times of 2:23.01 and 5:44.16 at the Bentley Invitational. At the
Hartwick Relays, was part of second place 400 and 800 medley relay
squads that hit the wall in 4:23.23 and 10:28.80.
