Northeast-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week
Tom Ferrigno, Bryant (Jr., West Chester, Pa.) - Was named the
Swimmer of the Meet after winning a trio of individual events all
in record time at the New England Championships. Won the 200-yard
backstroke with a time of 1:55.50 and won the 400-yard individual
medley in 4:08.52, while qualifying for an NCAA "B" cut. Took first
in the 1650-yard freestyle in a national "B" cut time of 16:09.76.
Also helped the Bulldogs get top-5 finishes in two relays and lead
Bryant to a 5th-place overall finish.
Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week
Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (Sr., Sherrill, N.Y.) - Captured first
place in the 200 yard butterfly and set a meet record with a time
of 2:03.72 in the finals. Also placed first in the 200 (1:55.22)
and 500 (5:05.82) yard freestyle in helping the Dolphins to a 3rd
place finish at the NYSWCAA Championships.
Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Brandon Birchak, Saint Rose (Sr., Latham, N.Y.) - Swept the one and
three-meter diving events at the Metropolitan Conference
Championships to help Saint Rose finish fifth overall. Captured the
three-meter board by breaking the 15-year old meet record with
557.33 points and took the one-meter by accumulating 489.38 points,
thus defeating the nearest competitor by 60 points. Was named Diver
of the Meet for the second consecutive year.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week
Egen Ouellette, Bentley (Fr., West Hartford, Conn.) - Attacked the
record book during the NEISDA Championships, taking possession of
the records in the 500 free (4:51.95), the 1000 free (10:07.42) and
the 1650 free (16:56.59). Was part of Bentley's winning 800 free
relay team and third-place 400 free relay team, and placed third in
the 1000 and fourth in the 500 and 1650.
Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week
Christine Lockwood, Saint Rose (Fr., Binghamton, N.Y.) -
Established two individual school records and was part of three
more school record setting relay squads at the Metropolitan
Conference Championships. Was sixth in the 400-yard individual
medley with a time of 4:46.13 and finished ninth in the 1,650 free
in 19:45.08.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Jon Andrews, Bentley (Fr., Southbury, Conn.) - During the NEISDA
Championships, captured gold in the one-meter diving with a score
of 404.45. Also finished second in the three-meter, with 362.65
points.
Sam Laden, Bentley (So., Cheshire, Conn.) - Finished first in both
the 100 breaststroke and 200 breast at the NEISDA Championships,
posting school records in the process (58.65 and 2:09.95,
respectively). Also placed second in the 100 IM (55.72), helped
Bentley win the 400 medley relay (3:31.07) and was a part of the
Falcons' 200 free relay team that twice set school records twice
while finishing second.
Bryan Stinchfield, Bentley (Sr., Darien, Conn.) - During the NEISDA
Championships, broke school records in the 100 individual medley
(twice, 54.60 and 54.20), the 200 IM (1:57.48) and the 200
freestyle (1:45.08). Also was part of three school-record setting
relays (200 free twice, 800 free). Earned gold in the 100 IM,
participated on two winning relays (400 medley, 800 free), finished
second in the 200 IM and the 200 free, and medaled in two other
relays (2nd in 200 free, 3rd in 400 free).
John Cieslewski, Bryant (So., Watertown, Conn.) - Took home three
top-5 finishes from the New England Championships, including a
first-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke. Set a new Bryant
record with that swim in a time of 27.20. Finished third in the
100-yard breaststroke (1:01.08) and took fourth in the 100-yard
individual medley, also setting a new school record by touching the
wall in 58.01 seconds
Steven Nguyen, Bryant (Fr., San Jose, Calif.) - Took home a pair of
top-5 finishes at the New England Championships, helping Bryant to
an overall fifth-place finish. Took third in the 500-yard freestyle
(4:47.94), and then earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard
freestyle in a Bryant record time of 1:46.74.
Ed Fennessey, Saint Michael's (Sr., Wilton, Conn.) - Placed sixth
in the one-meter diving event at the NEISDA Swimming & Diving
Championship.
Amy Lamparelli, Saint Rose (Fr., Burnt Hills, N.Y.) - Contributed
school record times in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard
breaststroke at the Metropolitan Conference Championships. Took
eighth in the 100 fly in 1:00.83 and was sixth in the 200
breaststroke with a 2:30.21 clocking. Was also part of school
record paces in the 200 and 400 medley relay along with the 400 and
800 free relay.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Bentley captured six gold medals (four
individual, two relays) en route to a fourth straight New England
Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championship. The
Falcons broke school records 14 times in 11 different events.
