Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

McNeil Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Jr., East Hartford, Conn.) – Ran a time of 51.89 seconds bettering his qualifying time of 52.28 earlier in the weekend, to finish an impressive fifth in the 400 meter hurdles. Earned All-American honors with the finish.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Haley Catarius, UMass-Lowell (So., Marshfield, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors for the second time this year, placing sixth in the 800 meters at the NCAA Championship. Seeded ninth, shattered the school record with a time of 2:10.40 in the preliminary and ran the final in 2:12.07.

Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week

Kevin Gill, Stonehill (Fr., Brockton, Mass.) - Wrapped up a sensational inaugural season, turning in a tenth place finish in the 1500 meters at the 2008 NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships. Just missed out on earning All-America honors with his time of 3:52.73, less than a second off of the pace.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Lyra Clark, UMass-Lowell (Fr., Nashua, N.H.) - Placed 15th in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Championship in 4:40.24.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Kevin Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Bristol, Conn.) – Earned sixth place honors in the long jump to earn All-America status. Best jump of the weekend was 7.14 meters in the finals.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Yvonne Perkins, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Danbury, Conn.) – Placed 10th in hammer throw and 18th in shot put at the NCAA Championship this past weekend.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week

Robert Golabek, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Hamburg, N.Y.) – Finished 17th in the shot put at the NCAA Championship with a throw of 49’7’’.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Jacqui Barrett, UMass-Lowell (So., Woburn, Mass.) – Had first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championship, placing 12th in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 7.0 inches.

Andrew Grange, UMass-Lowell (Jr., Methuen, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors for the fifth time by placing sixth in the 400 meter dash at the NCAA Championship. Seeded 13th, posted a time of 47.07 in the preliminary and 47.65 in the final.

Tim Guerin, UMass-Lowell (So., Auburn, Mass.) - Seeded 14th, placed 11th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:42.78 at the NCAA Championship.

Rex Radloff, UMass-Lowell (Jr., Dedham, Mass.) - Placed 14th in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Championship in 14:51.31.

Letecia Taylor, Southern Connecticut (So., Plainfield, N.J.) – Finished seventh in 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.28 to earn All-America honors.
