Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week

Nick Jones, Bentley (Fr., Great River, N.Y.) - Ran to victory in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Northeastern Husky Spring Open, with a time of 10:27.77.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (So., Marshfield, Mass.) - Placed second overall and tops among Division II and III runners in the 800 meters and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the season-opening meet, the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational. Posted a time of 2:13.93.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Corinne Flieger, Bentley (Fr., Hopkinton, Mass.) - Placed fourth in the 100 meter dash at the Northeastern Husky Spring Open, with a time of 13.75 seconds. Also tied for 10th in the high jump with a height of 4'10", and was part of the the 4x100 relay team, which posted a time of 52.01 while running without opposition.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Sutton Underwood, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Norwalk, Conn.) - Won the pole vault at the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational with a distance of 15'7".

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Freeport, N.Y.) - Won the pole vault at the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational with a distance of 11'1.75".

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week

Dave Kusmin, Bentley (Fr., Westwood, Mass.) - Finished 1st of 19 in the long jump at the Northeastern Husky Spring Open, with a distance of 20 feet, 4.5 inches. Was also fourth of six in the triple jump (39 feet, 9.75 inches).

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week

Bethany Staiti, UMass Lowell (Fr., Barre, Mass.) - Placed 15th overall and second among Division II-III throwers in the shot put at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitaitonal. Posted a distance of 38' 4.25'', placing behind only teammate Jacqui Barrett.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Rebecca Ciccarelli, Bentley (Jr., Natick, Mass.) - Finished second in the 100 meter dash at the Northeastern Husky Spring Open, with a time of 13.55 seconds. Also was part of the 4x100 relay team that posted a time of 52.01 while running without opposition.

Jacqui Barrett, UMass Lowell (So., Woburn, Mass.) - Placed fifth overall and first among Division II-III throwers in the shot put at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock invitational. Threw for a distance of 43' 3.0''.

Doug Caves, UMass Lowell (So., Oxford, Mass.) - Placed fourth overall and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in UMass Lowell's season-opener, the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational. Posted a time of 47.08 seconds.

Rocky LeFort, UMass Lowell (Sr., Nashua, N.H.) - Placed fourth overall and tops among Division II and III throwers in the shot put at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational. Posted a distance of 50' 2.75''.

Rex Radloff, UMass Lowell (Jr., Dedham, Mass.) - Captured the 5,000 meters at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational to open the season. Posted a time of 15:01.13, and created nearly a 17-second gap on the remainder of the field.

Olivia Thibou, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, Mass.) - Placed 10th overall in the triple jump and tops among Division II-III athletes at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational. Leaped a distance of 37' 3.0''. Also ran a leg on UML's 4X200 meter relay team which placed 10th overall (second) in 1:46.11.
