Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Jessica Cegarra, Bryant (Jr., OH, Danville, NH) - Tallied 41 kills and 10 blocks in three matches to earn MVP honors of the Bryant Invitational. For the week, had 51 kills (.581) after notching 10 in a 3-0 win over AIC. Had 17 kills in the win over Wilmington and had 14 kills and four service aces in a 3-0 win over Mercy.

Northeast-10 Setter of the Week

Tiffany Garry, Bryant (So., S, Frankfort, IL) - Averaged 12.33 assists in three matches to earn All-Tournament honors at the Bryant Invitational. Had 39 assists in a 3-0 win over Wilmington and added 37 against Saint Anselm. For the week, she had 146 assists and 15 service aces with six coming in the win over Wilmington.

Northeast-10 Libero of the Week

Katie Markstein, Bentley (Sr., L, La Jolla, CA) - Averaged 5.3 digs and 1.20 aces with three wins in four matches. Had 25 digs versus Mercy. Had four aces against both Mercy and Southern Connecticut.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Nicole O'Sullivan, UMass Lowell (Fr., MH, Quincy, MA) - Posted averages of 3.88 kills and 0.93 blocks in a 4-0 week. Registered 10 kills, three aces and two blocks in a 3-1 win over Southern New Hampshire. Followed with six kills, four digs and four blocks in a 3-1 win over Pace; and six kills and five blocks in a 3-0 win over C.W. Post. Closed the week with nine kills, four blocks and two aces while hitting .412 in a 3-2 victory over Bridgeport.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

Tess Wurm, Assumption (Sr., OH, New Bedford, MA) - In a 3-0 week, had 43 kills (4.78 avg.) and 14 digs. Collected 30 kills (5.00 avg.) and 11 digs in the Worcester City Tournament, named to the All-Tournament team.

Becca Rector, Bentley (Fr., RS, Greenwood Village, CO) - In a 3-1 week, averaged 3.17 kills, 1.92 digs, 0.75 blocks and 0.42 service aces while hitting .245. Highs of 13 kills,10 digs and five blocks versus Mercy, three aces versus Merrimack, and a .588 hitting percentage vs. Wilmington.

Christina Sadowski, Bentley (So., MH, Salem, NH) - Averaged 3.6 kills and 1.8 blocks with a .343 hitting percentage, in a 3-1 week. Had 13 kills and 10 blocks in a 3-1 loss to Mercy, put down 11 kills in a 3-0 win over Merrimack. Hit at least .500 in all three wins, including .750 (6-0-8) versus Southern Connecticut. In two conference wins, averaged 4.25 kills and 1.75 blocks while hitting .583. Named to All-Tournament Team at Bryant Invitational.

Christina Collett, Franklin Pierce (Jr., OH, Tombstone, AZ) - Collected 22 kills and four blocks in a 3-1 victory over Stonehill College.

Tara Vece, Franklin Pierce (Sr., L, Clinton, CT) - Contributed 28 digs, one assist and one service ace in the 3-1 victory over Stonehill College.

Julie McLaud, Le Moyne (Jr., S, Pine Bush, NY) - In a 1-1 week, averaged 12.67 assists and 1.67 kills per game. Recorded 38 assists in a three-game win over Saint Michael's.

Emily O'Hara, Le Moyne (Jr., MH, Altamont, NY) - Had 25.5 points, landed 19 kills (3.17/game) and combined for 10 total blocks (1.67/game) in a 1-1 week.

Julie Handy, UMass Lowell (Sr., OH, Yorba Linda, CA) - Posted averages of 4.56 kills, 3.31 digs and 0.50 service aces while hitting .336 (73-24-146) in a 4-0 week. Had 20 kills, 12 digs and four service aces in a 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire. Followed with 16 kills and 16 digs while hitting .406 in a 3-1 win over Pace. Had 13 kills and 11 digs while hitting .400 in a 3-0 sweep over C.W. Post. Finished with 24 kills, 14 digs and four blocks in a 3-2 win over Bridgeport.

Caitlin Harte, UMass Lowell (Jr., S, East Rochester, NH) - Averaged 11.63 assists, 2.63 digs and 0.75 service aces in a 4-0 week. Dished out 55 assists, 15 digs and three kills in a 3-1 win over Southern New Hampshire and followed with 48 assists, 11 digs and three aces in a 3-1 win over Pace. Had 33 assists and five kills in a 3-0 win over C.W. Post, and finished with 50 assists, 11 digs and a career-high seven aces in a 3-2 victory over Bridgeport.

Lindsey Larson, Merrimack (Sr., OH, Mission Viejo, CA) - Posted 29 kills and 13 digs in a 3-1 win over Pace, posted nine kills in a 3-0 win over C.W. Post. Had 16 kills and 26 digs, in a 3-2 loss to Bridgeport.

Ashley D'Agostini, Pace (Fr., S, San Diego, CA) - Averaged 9.31 assists per game for the week. Against Bridgeport, finished with 52 assists, and 13 digs. Against UMass Lowell, finished with 29 assists and 11 digs. Against Merrimack, totaled 40 assists and eight digs.

Jessica Mulroy, Saint Michael's (Sr., S, Marcellus, NY) - Assisted on 28 points, and scored eight of her own during the loss to Le Moyne.

Shannon Campbell, Saint Rose (Jr., S, Charlton, NY) - Averaged 11.72 assists, 0.83 aces and 1.33 digs throughout a 4-1 week. Had 28 assists and nine digs in a 3-0 victory at Le Moyne.

Stephanie Brink, Saint Rose (So., OH, Port Ewen, NY) - Averaged 4.00 kills and 0.94 blocks with a .331 attack percentage during a 4-1 week. Registered a .357 attack percentage and averaged 3.93 kills and 1.07 blocks during four matches en route to being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Kutztown Challenge.

Alyssa Gosnell, Saint Rose (Sr., L, Peru, NY) - Averaged 4.11 digs and 0.28 aces throughout a 4-1 week. Had 13 digs in a 3-0 victory at Le Moyne.

Michaela Jorgensen, Saint Rose (Jr., MH, Candor, NY) - Averaged 2.22 kills, 1.27 blocks, 0.56 aces and 0.67 digs to go with a .370 attack percentage throughout a 4-1 week. Averaged 2.27 kills and 1.33 blocks throughout four matches and to a second place finish at the Kutztown Challenge. Named to the All-Tournament team.

Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

Bentley Bentley?s season-opening six-match winning streak included a 3-0 victory by default over Wilmington. The Falcons were winning 23-13 in the second game when injury hit the Wildcats, and Bentley was awarded a 30-18, 30-13, 30-0 win. Sophomore Christina Sadowski earned her second All-Tournament Award of the season at the Bryant Invitational? Assumption Assumption won its seventh Worcester City Tournament last Saturday, posting 3-0 scores over WPI and Worcester State. It?s the third straight time Assumption has won the tournament and the fourth in the last six years (tournament not held last year).
