Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Rhe-Ann Niles, New Haven (Gr., MH, St. Thomas, Barbados) - Averaged 4.10 kills per set, 0.40 aces per set and 1.00 blocks per set in a 3-0 week. Recorded 41 kills with only six errors on 65 attempts (.538 hitting percentage) and tallied 21 kills against Armstrong Atlantic in a 3-1 win. Was named Bentley Invitational Most Valuable Player.

Northeast-10 Setter of the Week

Yael Rosner, New Haven (Sr., S, Haifa, Isreal) – Led the team with 10.20 assists per set in a 3-0 week. Tallied 50 assists against Armstrong Atlantic in a 3-1 victory. Was named to the Bentley Invitational All Tournament team.

Northeast-10 Libero of the Week

Mary German, Saint Rose (Jr., L, Canandaigua, N.Y.) - Picked up 92 digs (6.13 per game) and also served up four aces during a 3-2 week. Finished with 19 digs or more throughout all five matches, including 26 in a 3-1 victory over Shepherd. Also chalked up 25 digs in a 3-0 setback to Clarion University, and held steady defensively with 21 digs in a 3-1 win over Philadelphia University.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Michelle Thornhill, Stonehill (Fr., OH, Canyon Lake, Calif.) - Had 37 kills (3.36 per game), 28 digs (2.54 per game) and nine service aces in victories against Colby Sawyer, Wheaton and Connecticut College to help the team improve to 6-0 on the season.

Weekly Honor Roll:


Kervelle Redhead, American International (Fr., S, St. James, Trinidad and Tobago) - Handed out 63 assists in four matches at the Lock Haven Tournament , Had 23 assists against Alderson-Broaddus in the final match of the tournament.

Ellisha Terry, American International (Fr., OH, Fort Worth, Texas) - Led the team with 27 kills and 33 digs in four matches at the Lock Haven Tournament this past week. Had nine kills and seven digs in the first match with Alderson-Broaddus and had 11 kills and 10 digs in the second match.

Marillisa Strand, Assumption (So., S, Sarasota, Fla.) - In a 1-1 weekend recorded 55 assists (9.17 per game). In addition had eight digs, as well as eight kills on 10 attacks with no attack errors.

Alex Kearney, Bentley (Jr., OH, La Jolla, Calif.) - Averaged 2.8 kills, 2.3 digs and 0.4 blocks while helping Bentley to a 2-1 record in its own invitational. Hit .216 in the three matches, and had her second double-double of the season (12 kills, 10 digs vs. Georgian Court).

Virginia Wong, Bentley (Fr., OH, Quincy, Mass.) - During the Bentley Invitational, helped the team to a 2-1 record by averaging 2.9 kills and 2.1 digs, and hitting .204. Had a season-best 12 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 loss to Armstrong Atlantic, and nine kills, seven digs and two aces in a 3-1 win over Georgian Court.

Kaylin Brainerd, Le Moyne (Jr., S, Liverpool, N.Y.) - Registered 25 assists in three matches in a 3-0 sweep of Dominican. Also recorded two service aces and three digs in the match.

Sarah Coscia, UMass Lowell (So., MH, Pittsfield, Mass.) – In three matches, registered averages of 2.55 kills and 1.55 blocks while hitting .286 in a 2-1 showing at the University of the Sciences Devils Classic. Highlights included 10 kills and four blocks in a 3-1 win over the host Devils; 10 kills and eight blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Seton Hill; and eight kills and six blocks in a 3-1 loss to Edinboro.

Shea Hansen, Pace (Fr., S, Mesa, Ariz.) - Averaged 35.8 assists per match (8.95 per game) in a 3-2 week. In a win over Mercy, posted 47 assists. In wins over Glenville State and Concord, recorded 37 and 38 assists. Against Charleston and West Virginia State, recorded 33 and 24 assists respectively.

Sianna Johnson, Pace (So., MH, Long Beach, Calif.) - Averaged 12.2 kills per match as the Setters opened the season 3-2 last week. Totaled 11 kills and two block assists in a win over Mercy. Posted team-highs in kills in four matches at the University of Charleston Tournament. Recorded 15 against Charleston and seven against West Virginia State. In wins over Glenville State and Concord, posted 12 and 16 respectively.

Marilyn Glamack, Saint Rose (Fr., OH, Victor, N.Y.) - Recorded 33 kills, 55 digs and seven aces throughout a 3-2 week while averaging 1.83 kills and 3.06 digs per game. In a 3-0 loss to Clarion University, finished with 10 kills, 12 digs and a pair of aces. Followed with 10 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 victory over Shepherd University.

Jaclyn Griffin, Saint Rose (Jr., RS, Glen Mills, Pa.) - Recorded 47 kills, 10 blocks and hit .354 during a 3-2 week, while averaging 2.47 kills and 0.53 blocks per game. In a 3-1 win over Philadelphia, finished with 12 kills and four blocks to go with a .300 hitting percentage. Contributed 13 kills, hit .565 and came up with five blocks in the 3-1 win versus Shepherd University.

Theresa Staulo, Saint Rose (Fr., S, Newton, Mass.) - Recorded 152 assists to go with 16 digs, 12 blocks and 10 kills throughout a 3-2 week, while averaging 8.00 assists and 0.63 blocks. In a 3-1 victory over Philadelphia, handed out 40 assists and also registered four kills and a like number of digs. Dished out 37 assists and contributed four digs and four blocks in a 3-1 win against Shepherd University.

Laura Noonan, Stonehill (So., MH, Hampstead, N.H.) - In matches against Wheaton and Connecticut College, recorded 18 kills on 23 attacks with only one error for a .739 hitting percentage as the team won both matches 3-0.

NEW HAVEN: Head coach Robin Salters won her 400th career match on Saturday against the University of Bridgeport. Salters became the 17th active coach to record 400 career wins and is in just her 15th season.
