Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Alaura Berry, Bentley (So., MH, San Diego, Calif.) - Hit an
incredible .885 and averaged 3.83 kills in a pair of 3-0 victories
this past week. Had a .929 success rate against UMass-Lowell, with
13 kills and no errors, and followed that two days later with
10-0-12 (.833) versus New York Tech.
Northeast-10 Setter of the Week
Yael Rosner, New Haven (Sr., S, Haifa, Isreal) - In a 3-0 week,
including a five-set victory over second ranked Dowling, tallied a
team-high 11.18 assists per set on 123 assists through 11 sets.
Also recorded six kills, one ace, 18 digs and six total blocks.
Northeast-10 Libero of the Week
Cassie Kraft, Bentley (Jr., L, New Braunfels, Texas) - Averaged
5.67 digs during a pair of 3-0 wins. Had 20 kills against
UMass-Lowell and 14 versus New York Tech.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Elizabeth Akinbiyi, New Haven (Fr., MH, Miami Gardens, Florida) -
In a 3-0 week, including a five-set victory over second ranked
Dowling, tallied a .345 hitting percentage through three matches
off 16 kills with six errors on 29 attempts. Grabbed eight total
blocks, seven assists and one solo stop.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Ellisha Terry, American International (Fr., OH, Fort Worth, Texas)
- Averaged 3.33 kills, 1.89 digs and 0.89 service aces per set in a
1-1 week. Hit .393 with 14 kills in 28 attempts to go with six digs
and four service aces in a 3-1 win over Pace and had 16 kills to go
with 11 digs, five blocks and four service aces against
Stonehill.
Kambryn Williams, American International (So., OH, Pomona, Calif.)
- Averaged 3.33 kills and 2.56 digs per set in a 1-1 week. Had 11
kills and nine digs in a 3-1 win over Pace and put down 19 kills
with 14 digs against Stonehill.
Alex Kearney, Bentley (Jr., OH, La Jolla, Calif.) - During a 2-0
week, averaged 3.5 kills, 1.83 digs and 0.5 blocks while hitting
.269. Had a season-high 17 kills versus UMass-Lowell, along with
five digs, a block and a .382 hitting percentage.
Chelsie Kohout, Franklin Pierce (So., L, Harrison Township, Mich.)
- Recorded four digs per set in a 1-1 week. Chalked up eight digs
in the loss to New Haven before recording 24 digs in the win over
NYIT.
Kaylin Brainerd, Le Moyne (Jr., S, Liverpool, N.Y.) - Registered
84 assists (10.50/gm), 14 digs (1.75/gm), four blocks (0.50/gm) and
four kills in a 2-0 week. Posted 33 assists, five digs and two
kills in a 3-0 win at Saint Rose. Registered 51 assists, nine digs,
four blocks and two kills in a 3-2 win over Pace.
Caitlin Richardson, Le Moyne (Sr., MH, Victor, N.Y.) - Hit at a
.419 clip, while landing 21 kills (2.62/gm) and recording six digs
and five blocks (0.62/gm) in a 2-0 week. Landed eight kills and
three service aces in a 3-0 win at Saint Rose. Posted a .500
hitting percentage, while registering 13 kills and posting four
blocks in a 3-2 win over Pace.
Jodi Smith, Le Moyne (Sr., OH, Angola, N.Y.) - Landed 25 kills
(3.12/gm) and recorded 17 digs (2.12/gm) in a 2-0 week. Posted 11
kills and nine digs in a 3-0 win at Saint Rose. Registered 14 kills
and eight digs in a 3-2 win over Pace.
Rhe-Ann Niles, New Haven (Gr., MH, St. Thomas, Barbados) - In a
3-0 week, including a five-set victory over Dowling, ranked second
in the region led the team with 3.91 kills per set and 1.00 blocks
per set. Tallied 43 kills on 63 attempts with three errors for a
three-match hitting percentage of .571. Also grabbed eight digs and
one aces.
Brittani Cotton, New Haven (Sr., OH, East Patchogue, N.Y.) - In a
3-0 week, including a five-set victory over second ranked Dowling,
led the team with 3.00 digs per set. Also averaged 2.18 kills per
set and tallied a .212 hitting percentage. Grabbed three blocks,
two aces and 24 kills.
Jenna Tammel, Southern Connecticut (Jr., RS, Spring Valley, Minn.)
- Had 25 kills in three matches, averaging 2.5 per set. Also
averaged 2.3 digs per, 23 total, and tallied six service aces this
past week.
Danielle Coffey, Southern New Hampshire (Fr., MH, Westboro, Mass.)
- Totaled 16 kills and 16 blocks (10 solo) in a 2-0 week.
Registered nine kills and nine blocks (four solo) in a 3-1 win over
Saint Michael's.
Stephanie Dluginski, Southern New Hampshire (So., MH, Floral Park,
N.Y.) - Totaled 26 kills (3.71 k/s) and five blocks (two solo) in a
2-0 week. Finished with 14 kills and a .667 hitting percentage in a
3-0 win over Saint Anselm. Finished with a .304 hitting percentage
for the week.
Brianna Doucet, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., OH, Danville, N.H.) -
Totaled 25 kills (3.57 k/s) and 25 digs (3.57 d/s) in a 2-0 week.
Hit .342 and totaled 20 kills and 18 digs in a 3-1 win over Saint
Michael's.
Therese Mance, Stonehill (So., L, Milwaukee, Wis.) - Averaged 4.2
digs per set in a 2-0 week, including 18 digs and three service
aces in a five set win over American International.
Michelle Thornhill, Stonehill (Fr., OH, Canyon Lake, Calif.) - In
a 2-0 week, hit .308 and averaged 4.38 kills per set and 2.38 digs
per set, including a career high 20 kills and seven digs in a five
set win over American International.
Andrea Wirth, Stonehill (So., S, Mesa, Ariz.) - In a 2-0 week
averaged 10.38 assists per set and 2.25 digs per set, including 44
assists, two service aces and 11 digs in a 3-2 victory over
American International.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Senior setter Tori Piskulick (San Diego,
Calif.), Bentley’s all-time leader in assists, is currently
three aces shy of 200 for her career, 28 digs away from 1200, and
18 assists short of 4500. The next dig for junior Cassie Kraft will
be the 1,500th of her career, and junior Alex Kearney (La Jolla,
Calif.) needs 39 digs to become only the fourth 1,000-kill,
1,000-dig player in school history. Sophomore Alaura Berry has hit
over .400 in nine of her last 11 region matches.
SAINT MICHAEL’S: With 12 victories, Saint Michael's
has matched its most wins in a season since 1995. With a win in one
if its final two matches this weekend, Saint Michael's clinches
it’s first .500 season since going 18-7 in 1994.
