South Easton, Mass. – The Skyhawks of Stonehill College will
be the top seed in this year’s Northeast-10 Women’s
Basketball Championship, presented by Spalding.
Stonehill (23-4, 19-3 NE-10) has won their first Northeast-10
Regular Season title since the 1995-96 season and first outright
title since 1994-95. The Skyhawks shared the regular season title
with Bentley College in 1995-96.
Franklin Pierce University will be seeded number two as the Ravens
finished one game behind the Skyhawks in the NE-10 standings at
18-4. Assumption College (21-8, 15-7 NE-10) received the third seed
after winning the tie break with Bentley (18-9, 15-7 NE-10) who
claimed the fourth seed. All four teams earn first-round byes in
the tournament. First round action begins on Sunday, March 2 with
four games starting at 2 p.m. The winners move on to the
quarterfinal round which is set for Tuesday, March 4.
First round games include #12 the College of Saint Rose (13-14,
9-13 NE-10) at #5 American International College (16-11, 12-10
NE-10), #11 Saint Michael’s College (13-14, 9-13 NE-10) at #6
Bryant University (17-10, 12-10 NE-10), #10 Southern New Hampshire
University (13-14, 9-13 NE-10) at #7 Le Moyne College (14-12, 11-11
NE-10) and #9 Southern Connecticut State University (14-13, 10-12
NE-10) at #8 Pace University (11-16, 10-12 NE-10).
Quarterfinal games on March 4 tip-off at 7 p.m. and will feature
the winner of Saint Rose/American International at #4 Bentley, the
winner of Saint Michael’s/Bryant at #3 Assumption, the
Southern New Hampshire/Le Moyne winner at #2 Franklin Pierce and
the winner of Southern Connecticut/Pace at #1 Stonehill.
The semifinal round will take place at the higher seeds on Friday,
March 7 at 7 p.m. The championship is slated for Sunday, March 9 at
1 p.m.
Northeast-10 Tournament contests can be seen over the internet on
pay-per-view basis on NE10.TV for a fee of $6.99. Check the

Northeast-10 is the second largest NCAA Division II athletic
conference in the nation and sponsors the most championships of any
