Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Kelsey O'Keefe, Bryant (So., F, Warren, Mass.) – Averaged 22
points in a 2-0 week, while shooting 13-for-16 from the line and
15-of-33 from the field. Recorded a double-double against
Merrimack, scoring 21 points and collecting 10 rebounds in the
62-58 win. Then scored 23 points and grabbed seven boards in the
73-60 win over Saint Michael’s in the NE-10 Tournament
first-round contest.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Siamone Bennett, Bryant (Fr., F, Newburgh, N.Y.) – Scored
seven points, grabbed 10 boards and added four blocks in the 62-58
win over Merrimack. Also added four points and seven rebounds in
the NE-10 Tournament first-round win over Saint Michael's.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Alexis Castro, American International (Sr., F, Chula Vista, Calif.)
- Averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds this past week. Netted 16
points with 12 rebounds in the regular season finale against
Franklin Pierce and poured in 14 points with 12 boards in the NE-10
first round win over Saint Rose.
Alissa Rubino, American International (Gr., G, Port Jefferson,
N.Y.) - Averaged 14 points, 5.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds this past
week. Scored 13 points and dished out six assists in the regular
season finale against Franklin Pierce and then scored 14 points
with six rebounds, five assists and two steals in the NE-10 first
round win over Saint Rose.
Erica Kirwan, Bentley (Sr., F, North Kingstown, R.I.) - In the
final regular season game of her career, exploded for 25 points, on
10-of-12 shooting, in an 82-61 win over Southern Connecticut. Made
all five free throw attempts, and also recorded seven rebounds, two
assists and two steals.
Kristy McLean, Bentley (Jr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - Helped
Bentley to an 82-61 win over Southern Connecticut with 19 points,
nine rebounds and two steals. Was six-of-ten overall, two-of-four
on three’s and five-of-six at the line.
Lynne-Ann Kokoski, Bryant (Sr., G, Hatfield, Mass.) - Averaged 14
points per game and collected nine rebounds in a 2-0 week. Scored
17 points in a 62-58 win over Merrimack, going 9-for-14 from the
line in the game. Added another 11 points in the NE-10 Tournament
first-round win over Saint Michael's, grabbing five rebounds, seven
assists and three steals.
Jennifer Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., G, Ellesmere Port, England)
- Posted 15 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds in
the win at American International in their lone contest of the
week. Made 6-of-10 shots from the field, including 3-of-5
three-pointers on the night.
Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (So., F, Ellesmere Port, England)
– In a 66-64 victory over American International in the
regular season finale, scored 25 points, including the game-winning
basket as time expired, nine rebounds, two steals, a blocked shot
and assist. Made 8-of-20 shots from the field and converted 7-of-8
free-throws.
Katie Dunn, Le Moyne (Jr., G, Whippany, N.J.) – Scored 16
points in a 53-39 victory over Southern New Hampshire in the first
round of the NE-10 Tournament. Shot 4-for-4 from the field,
including three 3-pointers, and added 5-of-6 from the free throw
line. Also added a steal and two rebounds.
Revital Carmon, UMass Lowell (Jr., C, Bat-Yam, Israel) - Scored 22
points and grabbed 18 total rebounds in the regular season finale,
an 80-72 win over Saint Rose. Shot 9-of-15 from the field and
grabbed seven offensive rebounds.
Stephanie Klingele, Pace (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - Averaged
12.5 points, five rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week. Tallied
14 points, five boards and three assists in a win over Assumption.
Totaled 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists against Southern
Connecticut in the opening round of the NE-10 Tournament.
Ashley Anderson, Saint Rose (Jr., F, Portland, Maine) - Averaged a
double-double behind 16 points and 12 rebounds in an 0-2 week,
while shooting 13-of-25 shots from the floor. In an 80-72 loss at
UMass Lowell, tossed in 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and pulled
down 11 boards. Also registered a double-double with 15 points and
13 caroms in a 62-52 setback at American International.
Emily Gottstein, Saint Rose (Sr., F, Albany, N.Y.) - Averaged 22.5
points and 6.5 rebounds in an 0-2 week. Shot 50.0 percent
(16-for-32) from the floor and hit 13-of-17 foul shots. In an 80-72
setback at UMass Lowell, scored 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting to
go with eight boards. Tossed in 19 points and grabbed five boards
in a 62-52 loss at American International in the first round of the
NE-10 Tournament.
Rochelle Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Sr., F, Norwalk, Conn.) -
Averaged 10.5 points, 10 rebounds and one block per game in a 1-1
week. Scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, blocked a shot and
recorded two steals at Bentley. In the first round of the
conference tournament, scored eight points, grabbed 14 rebounds,
dished out four assists and blocked a shot in the victory at
Pace.
Kate Lynch, Southern Connecticut (Sr., F, Rumford, R.I.) - Averaged
14 points, five rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and one block per
game in a 1-1 week. Scored 15 points, grabbed two rebounds, dished
out two assists, blocked a shot and recorded three steals at
Bentley. In the first round of the conference tournament, scored 13
points, collected eight rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked
a shot and recorded two steals in the win at Pace.
Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill (Jr., F, Middleboro, Mass.) - Scored 25
points and recorded 10 rebounds and three blocks in a 63-57 win at
Saint Anselm. Scored 19 of her 25 points came in the second half on
6-for-9 shooting from the floor. Shot 8-for-12 from the field and
9-for-9 from the free throw line.
Weekly Notes:
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: Alissa Rubino recorded her
500th career assist against the Golden Knights and her 501 career
assist in the first round of the Northeast-10 tournament which
ranks her second all-time at AIC.
BENTLEY: When Bentley hosts American International
in the NE-10 quarters on Tuesday, the Falcons will be looking for
their record 25th trip to the conference semifinals.
PACE: Head Coach Carrie Seymour, who won her 300th
game on February 23 against Le Moyne, finished the season with 301
career victories. Senior guard Stephanie Klingele finished her
collegiate career with 1,411 points, good for fifth all-time in
school history and is tied for third in career games played with
121.
SAINT MICHAEL’S: Senior Amy Pitchers (Oxford Mills,
Ontario) finishes her career with 109 career blocks, fifth-best in
program history. Classmate Allison Dunn (Whippany, N.J.) played in
her 100th and final game for Saint Michael's at Bryant on Sunday.
SAINT ROSE: Senior forward Emily Gottstein became the 20th
player in program history to score 1,000 career points after
tossing in 26 at UMass Lowell on Tuesday. She closed out her career
at Saint Rose with 1,024 points and 667 rebounds.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT: With a three-pointer from the right
wing with 4:02 to play in the first half at Bentley on Feb. 26,
senior forward Kate Lynch pushed her career point total to 1,741,
tying Kristen Breen (1995-99) for SCSU’s all-time scoring
lead. Lynch would make the record her own 1:35 later when she hit a
step-back jumper from just inside the arc on the left wing. Lynch
currently has 1,761 career points.
SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: SNHU finished with its most
victories (13) since the 1990-91 season when the team was 18-13 and
set a school record for Northeast-10 victories (9).
