Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (So., F, Ellesmere Port, England ) – Averaged 27.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and four steals to earn Most Outstanding Player honors at the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. Shot 51.9-percent from the field (28-54) and converted 22-of-25 free-throw attempts for the week. Posted 31 points and ten boards to go with three assists and three steals in the victory over Holy Family in the regional final. Scored 30 points after converting on all 14 free-throws, to go with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in the second round win over Stonehill. Had 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in the first round win over Dominican.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Tori Ahrens, Franklin Pierce (Fr., C, East Greenwich, R.I.) - Averaged 5.7 points and four rebounds and shot 66.7-percent (8-for-12) from the field in the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. Posted eight points and three rebounds in the opening round win over Dominican. Registered five points, eight rebounds and a blocked shot in win over Stonehill in the second round.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kayla Parker, Assumption (So., F, Sanford, Maine) - Averaged 15.5 points and six rebounds in the Northeast Regional tournament. In a first round win over Bentley, scored 15 points, had eight rebounds, and had a block. In the semifinal versus Holy Family, scored 16 points (5-9 FG, 2-2 3FG, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, and an assist.

Bethany Plasski, Assumption (Jr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - Averaged 13 points (14-17 FT) and five assists in the Northeast Regional tournament. In a first round win over Bentley, had 14 points (8-10 FT), seven assists, five rebounds, and a block. In the semifinal versus Holy Family, had 12 points and three assists.

Elise Caira, Bentley (Fr., G, Wakefield, Mass.) - Scored 11 points, to go along with seven rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist in a first-round loss to Assumption in the NCAA Northeast Regional. Was 4-for-10 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Kelsey O'Keefe, Bryant (So., F, Warren, Mass.) - Scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the NCAA First Round loss to Stonehill, 67-58. Shot 8-for-15 from the floor with two three-pointers.

Jennifer Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., G, Ellesmere Port, England) - Averaged 10.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, four assists and three steal to earn All-Tournament team honors at the NCAA II Northeast Regional. Connected on 5-of-11 (45.5%) three-point field goals. Posted 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in the victory over Holy Family in the regional final. Collected 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in the second round win over Stonehill. Grabbed 11 rebounds in opening round win over Dominican.

Josie Lidke, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Chaska, Minn.) - Helped lead Franklin Pierce to its first NCAA II Northeast Regional title in program history as she averaged 11 points, 3.7 rebounds, and a steal. Shot 66.7-percent (12-of-18) from the field, including 6-of-8 (75%) from three-point range, for the week. Totaled 15 points and four rebounds in the regional final win over top-seeded Holy Family. Collected ten points and five rebounds in the second-round win over Stonehill. Posted eight points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in opening round win over Dominican.


Weekly Notes:


ASSUMPTION: With the win over Bentley in the first round of the NCAA Northeast Regional last Friday night, Assumption recorded its program record 22nd win of the season.

BENTLEY: Bentley saw its Division II record string of consecutive 20-win seasons snapped at 24, finishing the season at 19-11.

FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce captured its first NCAA Division II Northeast Regional title with Monday's 88-71 victory over top-seeded and No. 4-ranked Holy Family University. The Ravens will face #9 University of Alaska-Anchorage in the NCAA II Elite Eight on Wednesday, March 26, in Kearney, Neb. Sophomore All-American Johannah Leedham was named Most Outstanding Player at the Regional and was joined on the All-Tournament team by junior Jennifer Leedham. Johannah Leedham broke Franklin Pierce's single-season scoring record with her 727 points to date, surpassing the previous record of 706 points set by Shelia Lindsay in 1987-88. Leedham has also broken her own program records for steals (106) and free-throws made (166). Leedham made all 14 free-throw attempts in the Ravens NCAA Tournament second round win over Stonehill on Saturday, surpassing her previous single-game program record of 13-for-13 also set against Stonehill in 2006.
