Northeast-10 Player and Freshman of the Week

Brittany Shields, Pace (Fr., F, Cold Spring, N.Y.) - Averaged 24 points and nine rebounds, while shooting 26-for-41 (63.4%) from the field in a 2-1 week. Totaled 10 points and six rebounds against Saint Michael's. Scored a career-high 32 points, while grabbing nine rebounds in a win over Bloomfield. Recorded a double-double with 30 points and 12 boards in a NE-10 first round win over Merrimack, while shooting 12-for-19 from the field.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Bethany Plasski, Assumption (Sr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - In two games this past week, averaged 16.5 points. In the final regular season game against Bentley, scored 13 points had three rebounds, two assists and one steal. In the first round playoff of the NE-10 Championship game against New Haven, scored 20 points, two rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Colette Josey, Bentley (Jr., F, Boston, Mass.) - In only 18 minutes off the bench, poured in a career-best 25 points and pulled in 11 rebounds in the 71-60 win at Assumption. Was 6-of-10 from the field, set a school record by hitting all 13 of her free throws, and also had three blocks.

Kristy McLean, Bentley (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - In a 71-60 win at Assumption, had 13 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals. Was 5-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 at the free throw line.

Courtney Coryea, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Mooers Forks, N.Y.) - Averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in an 0-2 week. Scored a team-high 14 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked two shots in a 46-45 loss at Southern Connecticut. Posted 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in a 58-38 loss against Southern New Hampshire in the first round of the NE-10 Championship.

Hannah DeGraffinreed, Merrimack (Fr., C, Raleigh, N.C.) - Averaged 10 points and 8.5 rebounds this past week. Tallied a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds against Pace in the Northeast-10 Championship First Round.

Casey Miller, Merrimack (Jr., G, Fairbanks, Alaska) - Averaged 11 points and four rebounds in two games this past week.

Lauren Hood, New Haven (Sr., F, Ashland, Mass.) - Led the Chargers in two victories, including an 80-74 win in the NE-10 Championship First Round. Averaged 24 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Tallied a week-high 26 points in a win at Merrimack. Shot 52.4 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three-point territory and 80 percent from the charity stripe.

Megan Howard, Saint Anselm (Fr., F, St. Paul, Minn.) - In the team’s lone game of the week, finished her rookie season with her league-leading 18th double-double of the season. Posted 20 points and 13 rebounds in the loss to Saint Rose.

Michelle Otey, Saint Michael's (Jr., F, Southborough, Mass.) - In a 1-1 week, posted averages of 16 points and six rebounds per game. The week was highlighted with a career-best 24-point and nine-rebound effort in a 57-56 win at the buzzer over Pace in the regular season finale. Also shot 10-of-20 from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe in the win.

Ashley Anderson, Saint Rose (Sr., F, Portland, Maine) - Averaged a double-double behind 13.0 points and 11.5 rebounds throughout a 2-0 week, while shooting 57.1 percent (12-for-21) from the floor. Finished with seven points and four rebounds in 18 minutes of action in a 75-61 win at Saint Anselm. The procured a double-double by halftime and wound up tying her career-high with 19 points and setting a career mark with 19 rebounds to lead Saint Rose past Saint Michael's 66-46.

Julia Houghtaling, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., F, Franconia, N.H.) - Averaged a double-double (12.0 points, 10.0 rebounds) while shooting .571 from the floor in a pair of wins last week. Finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds on 6-of-9 shooting in the NE-10 championship first round win over Le Moyne.

BENTLEY:
When Bentley hosts New Haven in the NE-10 quarterfinals Tuesday, it’ll not only mark the Falcons’ 28th straight appearance in the conference playoffs, but will be the 28th consecutive year that Bentley will have a home game in the tournament. With her 13-for-13 performance at the line Tuesday at Assumption, junior Colette Josey set a Bentley record for single game free throw accuracy. Senior Kristy McLean (Staten Island, N.Y.) became the first Bentley player selected for the All-NE-10 first team since Shevon Gibbons in 2005, and second-team selection Kim Brennan (Locust Valley, N.Y) was the first Falcon sophomore to earn All-Conference honors since 2002.

PACE: Freshman Brittany Shields moved into second place on the Pace freshman record list with 421 points and 246 rebounds.

SAINT ROSE:
Senior guard Dana Brown (Elmont, NY/Elmont Memorial) became the 21st player in school annals to reach the 1,000 point plateau Tuesday night. After finishing with 18 points Tuesday and adding 14 Saturday, Brown now has 1,028 career points.

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Penmen earned the first NE-10 Tournament win in program history Sunday at Le Moyne. It marked SNHU's first postseason triumph since a 92-90 win over Bridgeport in the 1998 New England Collegiate Conference tournament.
