Weekly Notes:

STONEHILL: The Skyhawks claimed their eighth straight Northeast-10 tournament title with Sunday's championship round win over Bentley after collecting their ninth straight league regular season crown with a triumph over the Falcons last Monday. Stonehill has posted seven seven straight undefeated regular season league campaigns in conference play and will take a 68-match Northeast-10 winning streak into the 2008 season. Stonehill, which moved up to the number two spot in this week's IWLCA Division II national poll and is ranked in the top 10 for the 71st straight week, earned the program's fifth NCAA tournament berth on Sunday evening and will take on C.W. Post in the North Region national semi-finals on Saturday afternoon in Salem, Va. beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Skyhawks will be looking to avenge their lone setback of the spring suffered to the Pioneers just 10 days ago, as the two teams will meet for the fourth time in post-season play overall and for the first time in NCAA play since 2003. Stonehill has won its last two post-season match-ups with C.W. Post and is 5-2 in NCAA championship action, as the Skyhawks seek their third national crown in five years. Saturday's Northeast-10 semi-final win was Stonehill's 20th in post-season play, as the Skyhawks are 21-4 all-time in post-season action and now sport a 140-26 (.843) slate in Michael Daly's nine-year tenure as head coach. Junior M Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) became the fourth Skyhawk to earn Northeast-10 Player of the Year honors, as Stonehill has copped the award in eight of the league's nine-year existence, while sophomore M Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) became the third Skyhawk to earn Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year honors in the last four years...Senior A Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.) became the seventh player in school history to eclipse the 200 career point plateau with five points in Saturday's semi-final win over Merrimack.
