Northeast-10 Co-Players of the Week
Ashley Ferrandiz, New Haven (So., M, West Sayville, N.Y.) - Scored
13 goals and dished out eight assists for a team-high 21 points in
a 3-0 week. Caused five turnovers and picked up 15 ground balls and
had a .650 shooting percentage and collected seven draw
controls.
Michelle Kelly, Stonehill (Sr., M, Mendham, N.J.) - Had 12 goals
and 11 assists for 23 points (7.67 pts per game) in three games
last week. Also scored three times and dished out a school record
eight assists in a 26-4 win over Southern Connecticut.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Maureen Spellman, New Haven (Fr., G, Trumbull, Conn.) - Finished
the week with a perfect 3-0 record and had 17 saves and a .447 save
percentage. Allowed just 21 goals in three games and finished with
10 saves while allowing only seven goals against Bentley.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Leyla Kuz-Dworzak, Stonehill (Fr., M, Norwalk, Conn.) - Scored six
goals and dished out an assist in her first collegiate contest. In
three games on the week, had 10 goals and an assist for 11 points
(3.67 per game).
Weekly Honor Roll:
Alyssa Ritchie, Bentley (Sr., A, North Andover, Mass.) - Scored
four goals against No. 8 New Haven and broke the program's record
of 144 career goals. Added seven ground balls and seven caused
turnovers in Bentley's two games over the weekend.
Lauren Stille, Franklin Pierce (So., A, North Quincy, Mass.) -
Totaled 11 goals and two assists for 13 points in three games last
week. Also contributed nine ground balls and three draw controls.
Posted a season-high six goals, including the game-winner, and
dished an assist for seven points in the 16-7 win over Saint
Michael's. Opened the season with four goals against #9 New Haven.
Chipped in a goal and assist against #10 Rollins.
Mallory Ferrandiz, New Haven (Sr., M, West Sayville, N.Y.) - Scored
10 goals on 14 shots (.714 shooting percentage) in a 3-0 week.
Added three assists for 13 points in three games and also had a
team-high 15 draw controls and seven caused turnovers.
Sarah Magnone, New Haven (Fr., A, Yardley, Penn.) - Ranked third on
the team with nine points in a 3-0 week, while scoring seven goals
and two assists. Collected five ground balls and caused three
turnovers and finished with a team-high four goals in victory
against Bentley.
Michaela Rocha, Saint Anselm (Sr., A, Rye, N.H.) - Had consecutive
nine point games and 19 points this past week. In the 18-8 win over
Southern Connecticut, netted her 100th career goal on a free
position shot late in the first half. In the 19-10 loss to
undefeated Dowling, scored nine of the teams 13 points with eight
goals and an assist.
Meghan Smith, Saint Anselm (Fr., M, Pittsford, Mass.) - Tallied 10
goals and three assists in three games this past week. Scored five
goals and added two assists in the loss to Stonehill and then had a
three goal, one assist effort in the 18-8 win over Southern
Connecticut.
Carole Lee, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., A, Derry, N.H.) - Scored
four goals in a victory over Assumption.
Justine Ferland, Stonehill (Sr., G, Portsmouth, N.H.) - Went 2-1 on
the week, making 27 saves (9 per game) and giving up 23 goals (7.67
per game) with a .540 save percentage.
Mary Maloney, Stonehill (Sr., A, Great River, N.Y.) - In three
games this past week had 11 points (3.67 per game) with six goals
and five assists. Had two goals and three assists in a season
opening win over Saint Anselm.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: After breaking Bentley's record for
career goals on Saturday, Alyssa Ritchie now holds the school's
three major career scoring records. She has 146 goals, 104 assists
and 250 points. Bentley has played three straight games against
teams ranked in the top-10.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Sophomore attack Lauren Stille
became just the third player in program history to reach the 100
point plateau for their career with her 13 points in the Ravens
three season-opening matches last week. Her 100 career points is
good for third all-time, while senior Carla Savini (Danvers, Mass.)
is currently ranked fifth all-time with 93 career points after
netting a goal last week.
SAINT ANSELM: In the 18-8 NE-10 victory over
Southern Connecticut State senior attack Michaela Rocha (Rye, N.H.)
netted her 100th career goal for Saint Anselm College.
SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: With two goals against Assumption,
senior Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT) became the first player in
program history to record 200 career points.
