The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2008 Men's and Women's Lacrosse All Academic Teams. The Northeast-10 All Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
Stonehill's Amanda McGeachey made 23 saves during the NE-10 Championship Tournament. McGeachey connected on 11-of -13 clear attempts. She allowed only four goals on 16 free-position shots over the 2-0 week.
The Stonehill College Women's Lacrosse team (14-3, 10-0 Northeast-10 Conference) closed out their season with the program's ninth consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Championship after defeating the Southern N.H. Penmen (12-6, 9-1 Northeast-10 Conference), 17-10 on Sunday.
Bentley's Jaclyn Griffin scored 12 goals and added four assists in a 2-1 week while picking up eight ground balls, winning seven draw controls and causing four turnovers. Griffin tallied nine points in the win over Franklin Pierce and six points at New Haven.
Merrimack's Kelly Pasquantonio turned in a 22 point week in three games for the Warriors. Pasquantonio scored 19 goals on the week, including eight against the University of New Haven, and contributed three assists.
Franklin Pierce's Jordan Baillargeon scored 15 goals and added four assists in three matches last week. In the 25-20 win over Norwich, Baillargeon scored 10 goals and assisted on three for 13 points. The 10 goals tied for fourth in a single game in D-II history.
Bentley's Christina Guglielmo made 48 saves in three games for a .558 save percentage and 12.67 goals against average. Guglielmo earned the win after making 20 saves at Assumption.
Bryant's Caitlin Hansen scored 16 goals and had two assists in three games in a 2-1 week. Hansen had four goals at Bentley in an overtime loss and followed with seven goals in a win over Franklin Pierce.
Southern New Hampshire's Libby Parent totaled six goals and six assists in a 2-0 week. Parent notched three goals and three assists in each of two wins over Saint Anselm and Bentley.
Bentley's Alyssa Ritchie scored eight goals and added six assists in a 1-1 week. Ritchie tallied two goals and five assists at Dowling and notched six goals and an assist in the 15-14 win at Philadelphia University.
The Stonehill College Skyhawks are predicted to claim an unprecedented 10th straight Northeast-10 Regular Season Title as voted by the conferences 11 head coaches.
April Pollock has been named head womens lacrosse coach at American International College, it was announced by Director of Athletics Richard Bedard. Shes the first full-time coach in program history.
Carissa Medeiros, a former player and assistant coach at Stonehill, has been named head womens lacrosse coach at Bentley, athletics director Bob DeFelice announced earlier this week.
The Bryant University Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the appointments of Jessica Davos as women's lacrosse coach and Stephanie Reilly as interim head cross country / track & field coach. The announcement was made today by Athletics Director Bill Smith. Davos replaces Karen Rife who took a similar position at Wagner College last month. Reilly replaces Trish Hillery who resigned to pursue other career opportunities.
Katie Lambert, whose name is splashed all over the Stonehill and NCAA womens lacrosse record books, has been named the head coach of the Skyhawk program she helped build as a player, Stonehill athletic director Paula Sullivan announced Monday.
