Northeast-10 Co-Players of the Week

Laura Hislop, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Belfast, Northern Ireland) - Played a role in four of the Ravens six goals as they captured their tenth NCAA New England Regional title with two goals and two assists for six points. Iced a 2-0 victory over Assumption with a goal in the 80th minute. Totaled a goal and two assists in a 4-1 decision over Merrimack.

Sonya Hughes, Franklin Pierce (Sr., MF, Balbriggan, Ireland) - Scored three goals for six points as the Ravens captured their tenth NCAA New England Regional title. Scored two goals, including the match-winner, in a 4-1 win over Merrimack. Netted the winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Assumption.

Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Lauren Matysiak, Assumption (So., GK, Holden, MA) - Collected seven saves and recorded a shutout in a 1-1 week. Made three saves to record her school record twelfth shutout of the season versus UMass Lowell in the NCAA Regional semi-final. Recorded four saves in the regional final at Franklin Pierce.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Kristen Cilley, Franklin Pierce (Fr., D, Belchertown, MA) - Assisted a match-winning goal and helped a Ravens defensive unit that yielded just four shots in collecting their tenth NCAA New England Regional title. Set up the winner in a 4-1 victory over Merrimack. Defense allowed just a goal and just one shot in a 2-0 victory over Assumption.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

Lindsay Bove, Saint Rose (So., MF, Holliston, MA) - Scored the game-winner to lead Saint Rose to a 2-0 semifinal win versus Philadelphia in the ECAC Championship.

Courtney Goess, Saint Rose (Sr., D, Chester, NY) - Named Most Valuable Player at the ECAC Championship after leading Saint Rose to its first such title. Anchored a defense that posted back-to-back shutouts and allowed eight shots collectively throughout two contests.

Mckenzie Hogan, Merrimack (Sr., MF, Glastonbury, CT) - Tied the score at one in a setback against Franklin Pierce in the NCAA New England Regional.

Holly McGrath, Assumption (Jr., MF, Naugatuck, CT) - Scored the game-winning goal in the NCAA Regional semi-final versus Mass.-Lowell.

Alex Scavo, Franklin Pierce (Jr., MF, Toronto, Ontario) - Netted the match-winner in a 4-1 victory over No. 25-ranked Merrimack in the opening round of the NCAA New England Regional.

FRANKLIN PIERCE: Franklin Pierce, ranked No. 4 in the final regular season NSCAA/adidas Division II poll, won its tenth NCAA New England Region title over the weekend. The Ravens will host No. 5-ranked West Chester University this weekend. Senior All-American Sonya Hughes (Balbriggan, Ireland) has netted six of Franklin Pierce's ten goals in five postseason matches so far, including three over the weekend. She became the tenth member of the program's 100-point club with her match-winning goal Sunday against No. 15 Assumption. She has totaled 31 goals (13th all-time) and 39 assists (9th) for 101 career points. Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Mello (Londonderry, N.H.) moved into fifth all-time with her 16th career shutout on Sunday. Franklin Pierce will be seeking its 13th Final Four berth in 14 seasons this weekend ASSUMPTION: Assumption, ranked #15 in the latest NSCAA/adidas division II national poll, advanced to its second straight NCAA New England Regional Final with a 1-0 victory over UMass Lowell in the regional semis. Sophomore keeper Lauren Matysiak (Holden, MA/Wachusett) posted her sixth career post-season shutout in the win. Matysiak has rewritten most of Assumption's goalie records after finishing her sophomore season. She finished the season allowing just 17 goals, two fewer than last season's total of 19 goals; her 0.70 goals against average was better than her 0.95 GAA in 2004; the shutout over UMass Lowell in the NCAA Regional Semi-final was her twelfth of the season, one better than her eleven in 2004 (currently owns the school record for most career shutouts with 23); played and started all 23 games this season, two more than last year's 21 games; surpassed her goalie minutes of last season (1808:25) by nearly 400 minutes (2181:48) and set the new career mark for most minutes (3990:13). Matysiak tied her own school record for most goalie wins a season (15) and broke the career win mark of 24, set by Heather McIntosh '00 (30-10-4). She will pass McIntosh next season for most goalie games (46) and starts (44). Senior striker Andrea Marcoccio (Warwick, RI/Pilgrim) finished her career as the second leading scorer in school history (40-26-106 points). Her career goals (40) and assists (26) rank as the second and third most in program history, respectively. Marcoccio's 18 game-winning goals is a new school record. Senior midfielder Lauren Ditolla (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) tied the career record for most games played (81) with former Hound Stephanie Martin ('99). Fellow senior midfielder Amy Ryan (Northboro, MA/Algonquin), 80 games, and Marcoccio, 79 games, also finished among the top 5 in most games played UMASS LOWELL: Despite a 0-1 loss to Assumption in its inaugural trip to the NCAA Tournament Friday, UMass Lowell enjoyed its best season in the program's 11-year history, achieving the school record for wins (12) and goals surrendered (17) in a season. UML also tied the school record for matches played in a season (20).
