Northeast-10 Players of the Week
Sami Brown, Saint Rose (Jr., F, Richland, Wash.) - Had seven points
via three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week. Scored twice in a
victory over UMass Lowell. Also scored and had an assist in the win
over Merrimack.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Brittany Ester, Franklin Pierce (Jr., GK, Toms River, N.J.) -
Posted a 0.48 GAA and .875 save percentage, while collecting a
shutout and averaging 3.5 saves per match in a 1-0-1 week,
including a double overtime draw with Bentley.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Kara Smith, Bentley (Fr., GK, West Springfield, Mass.) - Allowed
only one goal in two games this past week. Made 14 saves in a
shutout draw with Franklin Pierce. Also stopped five shots against
Adelphi. Had a 0.45 goals against average and .950 save percentage
for the week.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Cassie Ashwell, American International (Fr., D, Agawam, Mass.) -
Scored two goals with one assist in three games last week. Had one
goal and one assist in the 3-1 win over Post and tallied one goal
against Franklin Pierce.
Morgan Mastronardi, American International (So., M, Corunna,
Ontario) - Scored the game winning goal against Post and added a
goal against Merrimack.
Alex Dipippo, Bryant (So., D, Shelton, Conn.) - Scored the
game-winning goal in the 2-0 win at Southern Connecticut. Also
played a key role defensively for the Bulldogs, keeping opponents
scoreless in 200 minutes for the week.
Gabriela Demoner, Franklin Pierce (Sr., M, Curitiba, Brazil) -
Netted a pair of goals in a 4-2 win at American International to
cap a 1-0-1 week.
Jenna Giardina, Franklin Pierce (Sr., M, Pittsfield, Mass.) -
Recorded a goal and assist in a 4-2 win at American
International.
Hillary McGarr, Merrimack (Sr., D, North Dighton, Mass.) - Scored
two goals this past week, including the game-winner against
American International.
Lara Bodenstab, Pace (Fr., F, Kennett Square, Pa.) - Netted a pair
of goals in a win over New York Tech.
Sky Bryan, Saint Michael's (Jr., M, North Yarmouth, Maine) -
Tallied a goal and an assist in a 2-1 overtime win over
Assumption.
Liz Freiberger, Saint Michael's (Fr., F, South Walpole, Mass.) -
Scored the overtime game-winning goal 2:03 into the first overtime
to seal a 2-1 win over Assumption.
Lindsay Bove, Saint Rose (Sr., M, Holliston, Mass.) - Tallied six
points behind three goals in a 2-0 week.
Lauren Steinberg, Saint Rose (Sr., GK, Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) -
Made nine saves to account for a .900 save percentage in a 2-0
week. Had a 0.74 goals-against-average and was also part of one
shutout for the Saint Rose defense.
Lauren Boyd, Stonehill (Sr., F, Sandwich, Mass.) - Scored a goal in
the 2-0 victory over Pace.
Alex Eckhardt, Stonehill (Sr., GK, Marshfield, Mass) –
Recorded a shutout in the 2-0 victory at Pace. Has 18 saves during
the team’s four-game winning streak.
Stef Young, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., GK, Natick, Mass.) - Made
one save to earn a shutout in the team’s lone match of the
week, a 2-0 win over Saint Michael's.
Weekly Notes:
BRYANT: The Bulldogs need one more win to tie the
school record for wins in a season of 15 set last year.
SAINT ROSE: Senior midfielder Ashley McGuire
picked up her team-leading 10th assist in a 4-0 victory at UMass
Lowell on Wednesday. Is one of only three players in program
history to accomplish that feat and is just one assist shy of tying
the single-season school record. McGuire is eighth (22g, 24a) on
the all-time list in scoring and three assists shy of the school
mark. Senior midfielder Lindsay Bove is right behind her in ninth
(26g, 15a) with 67 career points.
