Northeast-10 Player and Goalkeeper of the Week
Brittany Ester, Franklin Pierce (Jr., GK, Toms River, N.J.) -
Earned All-Tournament team honors at the NCAA Division II
Championships. Set an NCAA Tournament record by not allowing a goal
in six matches. Made four saves in the 0-0 double-overtime draw
with the University of Tampa in the national title match before the
Ravens fell in penalty kicks. Matched her season-high with eight
stops as Franklin Pierce defeated Seattle Pacific 2-0 in the
semifinal.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Kelly Weygand, Franklin Pierce (Fr., D, Bridgewater, Mass.) - Key
member of a Ravens defensive unit which posted two more shutouts in
the semifinal and championship round of the NCAA Division II
Tournament over the weekend. The Ravens held undefeated Seattle
Pacific scoreless in the 2-0 semifinal round victory. Also assisted
on the Ravens second goal against Seattle Pacific. Posted a 0-0
double-overtime draw with Tampa in the final before falling in
penalty kicks.

Gabriela Demoner, Franklin Pierce (Sr., F, Curitiba, Brazil) -
Named Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the NCAA Division II
Championships as the Ravens finished as National Runners-up.
Rachel Smith, Franklin Pierce (So., D, Chichester, N.H.) - Earned
All-Tournament team honors at the NCAA Division II Championships.
Key member of a defensive unit which posted two more shutouts to
finish with six in as many NCAA Tournament matches. Held undefeated
Seattle Pacific scoreless in the 2-0 semifinal victory. Posted a
0-0 double-overtime draw with Tampa in the championship match
before falling in penalty kicks.
Weekly Notes:
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Advanced to its NCAA Division II
record seventh National Championship match over the weekend. The
Ravens quest for a record sixth National Championship were dashed
in a penalty shootout (3-1) against #14 Tampa. Franklin Pierce had
finished as runners-up in its last two championship appearances
(2003 & 2007). The Ravens won a Division II record five
national championships, with four coming from 1994-97 and the fifth
in 1999. Junior goalkeeper Brittany Ester did not yield a goal in
eight postseason matches, including an NCAA Division II record six
in the NCAA Tournament. She carried a scoreless streak of 788:11
into her senior season. Ester's 13 shutouts this season finished
just one shy of the program's single-season record.
