Saint Rose: 'Egbert Garners Another Award; Senior Forward Named NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-America'

ALBANY – Kailey Egbert (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity), a senior
forward on The College of Saint Rose women’s soccer team, has
added another award to her impressive resume. Egbert was recently
tabbed a National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA)/Adidas first-team Scholar All-American. Egbert was one of
only of 11 student-athletes from NCAA Division II and III schools
to be so recognized. She maintains a 3.63 GPA (4.00 scale) as a
biology major.
A 2008 College Division ESPN The Magazine District 1 Academic
All-America® honoree, as selected by the College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Egbert was also named a
third team All-American by the NSCAA and was further recognized as
both a Daktronics/CoSIDA and NSCAA/Adidas All-Region pick. The
three-time team captain also garnered All-League accolades from the
Northeast-10 Conference for the second time in her career this
fall.
Egbert had 18 points on seven goals and four assists for the Golden
Knights who strung together an historic 2008 campaign. Saint Rose
posted a 20-4-2 mark, set a school record with its 20 victories and
became only the fourth team since 1985 to win back-to-back NE-10
Championships. The Golden Knights furthermore earned their sixth
NCAA Tournament berth within a seven year stretch, wound up as the
nation’s fourth ranked team in the final NSCAA poll and won
the NCAA Tournament East Regional Championship that propelled them
to the “Final Four”.
Egbert concluded her distinguished career in a Golden Knights
uniform among the College’s top-15 in all three major scoring
categories with 67 points, 25 goals and 17 assists.
