Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Lindsay Horne, Saint Michael's (Jr., No. 1 Singles/Doubles,
Scituate, Mass.) - In a 4-0 week, won all of her No. 1 singles and
No. 1 doubles matches. In a 9-0 team win over Saint Rose, won 6-3,
6-0 in her singles match and 8-3 in doubles. In a 9-0 team win over
American International, won 6-2, 6-2 in singles and 8-1 in doubles.
In a close 5-4 team win over Merrimack, posted a 6-4, 6-4 win in
singles and 8-6 in doubles. In a 9-0 team win over New Haven, won
6-0, 6-1 in singles and 8-1 in doubles.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Amy Toegemann, Stonehill (Fr., No.2 Singles/No.1 Doubles,
Narragansett, R.I.) - Against Queens, the region's fifth ranked
team, won at No. 1 doubles 8-3 and followed that up with a victory
at No. 2 singles 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kelly Fleszar, Bentley (Jr. No. 1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles, Larchmont,
N.Y.) - Was 3-1 on the week to help Bentley close out the regular
season with two wins. Won both her No. 2 doubles matches and
prevailed in No. 1 singles against Assumption.
Marcia Gilbride, Bentley (Sr., No. 3 Singles/No.1 Doubles) - Had a
perfect week for Bentley with a 4-0 record. Won both her No. 1
doubles matches and both No. 3 singles matches.
Heather Haggerty, Bentley (Sr., No. 2 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Hanover, Mass.) - Had a 3-1 week, prevailing in both of her doubles
matches and winning a singles match against Saint Anselm on Senior
Day.
Kara Murphy, Bentley (Fr., No. 5 Singles/No. 3 Doubles, Worcester,
Pa.) - Went 4-0 on the week. Had straight sets wins in No. 5
singles against Saint Anselm and Assumption, and also won both her
doubles matches.
Amanda Carroll, Merrimack (So., No. 3 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Tewksbury, Mass.) - Went 9-1 this week past week, leading the
Warriors to three wins in five matches.
Natalija Subotic, Pace (Sr., No. 1 Singles/Doubles, Bradenton,
Fla.) - Won 6-1, 6-0 at #1 Singles and 8-1 at #1 Doubles in a team
win over New Haven.
McAul Lindermuth, Saint Anselm (Sr., No. 3 Singles/ No. 2 Doubles,
Pepperell, Mass.) - Moved up to No. 3 singles this week due to
injuries and defeated Merrimack, Franklin Pierces and American
International in singles and the Ravens No. 1 doubles 9-8 (7-5) to
help push the Hawks into the playoffs.
Deahna Giguere, Saint Michael's (So., No. 2 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Oakland, Maine) - In a 4-0 week, won all of her No. 1 doubles
matches and won all but one of her No. 2 singles matches. In a 9-0
team win over Saint Rose, won 6-2, 6-2 in singles and 8-3 in
doubles. In a 9-0 team win over American International, won 8-0 in
singles and 8-1 in doubles. In a 5-4 team win over Merrimack, won
her doubles match 8-6. In a 9-0 team win over New Haven, won 6-0,
6-0 in singles and 8-1 in doubles.
Laura Nason, Saint Anselm (Sr., No 1 Singles/ No 1 Doubles,
Shelton, Conn.) - Has won her last four No. 1 singles matches en
route to clinching a playoff spot for Saint Anselm. Had the lone
win against Bentley, a 6-3, 6-4 win versus Merrimack.
Amber Chandronnait, Southern New Hampshire (So., No. 1
Singles/Doubles, Bow, N.H.) - Dropped just two games en route to
singles wins over Merrimack and Queens (NY), including a 6-0, 6-0
win against the Warriors. Also teamed with Catlina Echeverry for a
pair of doubles wins.
