April 30, 2008 Northeast-10 Championship Participants Selected to NCAA Women's Tennis Division II Tournament
The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee has selected the teams and 16 first- and second-round sites of the 2008 NCAA Division II Womens Tennis Championships. Northeast-10 Champion Bryant hosts Philadelphia, while Saint Michael's visits California (Pa.) in the First Round. MORE >>
The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2008 Men's and Women's Tennis All Academic Teams. The Northeast-10 All Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
Bryant's Emma Czarnecki helped lead Bryant to the conference title this past week with four wins at No. 1 doubles including all three in conference tournament matches. Czarnecki picked up a straight-set win over Queens top player and added doubles victory in Bryants 6-3 win.
Southern New Hampshire's Catalina Echeverry was a perfect 6-0 last week, going 3-0 at No. 1 singles with wins over Assumption, Saint Michael's and Bentley. She also teamed up with Lauren Nigrelli to post a 3-0 mark at first doubles.
Stonehill's Daniella Granato completed a 7-1 week (4-0 in singles 3-1 in doubles). Granato defeated Merrimack 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, and Southern New Hampshire 7-6 (9-7), 6-3, Bryant 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 and Saint Anselm 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 singles.
Pace's Natalija Subotic went undefeated at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in three matches against Saint Rose, Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's this past week. Subotic won in straight sets against Saint Rose 6-1, 6-1.
Pace's Natalija Subotic won all four matches at No. 1 singles against American International, Le Moyne, Bentley and Stonehill. Subotic won one match at No. 1 doubles in a win over American International.
Southern New Hampshire's Lauren Nigrelli recorded a pair of victories in the teams 6-3 victory against Pace. Nigrelli took down a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles and teamed with Catalina Echeverry for a 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Bryant's Emma Czarnecki helped lead the Bulldogs to three wins last week with a pair of wins at number one singles and four wins at number two doubles. Czarnecki earned a 6-2, 6-4 win in the teams win of Bloomsburg.
Saint Rose's Rachael O'Brien came away with two wins in a 6-3 victory over College of the Desert. O'Brien took her third singles match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1, and also chalked up an 8-1 win in third doubles action.
