Northeast-10 Men’s Athlete of the Week

Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (Sr., Boston, Mass.) - Placed second individually and led UMass Lowell to its second New England Cross Country Championship in three years. Ran the five-mile course in 24:36, just one second behind winner Tim Ritchie of Boston College, as UMass Lowell scored 79 points.

Northeast-10 Women’s Athlete of the Week

Christina DaLomba, UMass Lowell (Sr., Marstons Mills, Mass.) - Placed 32nd overall and 31st among scoring runners at the New England Cross Country Championship. Ran the 5K course in 18:34 and led the River Hawks to 23rd in the 45-team field.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Jeff Veiga, UMass Lowell (Fr., Lowell, Mass.) – Placed 96th overall and helped lead UMass Lowell to the team title at the New England Championships with a time of 26:12.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week

Gina Micaroni, Le Moyne (Fr., Blossvale, N.Y.) - Finished in first place in a home dual meet with Saint Rose. Finished the three-mile course in 19:57 as the Dolphins fell to the Golden Knights by one point, 28-27.



Weekly Honor Roll:

Eddirise Gaye, American International (Fr., Pawtucket, R.I.) – At the New England Championships finished with a time of 24:08.

Brian Mulwo, American International (Fr., Kenya) - Paced the Yellow Jackets at the New England Championships, placing 161st with a time of 26:53 in his collegiate debut.

Patrick Erban, Assumption (Fr., Attleboro, Mass.) - Led all male Assumption runners at the New England Championships with a time of 26:52.

Heather Gostyla, Assumption (Sr., Bloomfield, Conn.) - Was the leading runner for the Greyhounds with a 20:07 time in 160th place at the New England Championships.

Melissa Nash, Bentley (Sr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Posted her second straight top-40 finish at the New Englands, with her time of 18:39 good for 38th overall and fourth amongst Northeast-10 competitors.

Andy Watson, Bentley (Jr., New Milford, Conn.) - Was 10th amongst Northeast-10 runners at the New Englands, placing 45th overall with a time of 25:34. Improved on his 2007 performance by 98 seconds and 79 places.

Jason DeDonato, UMass Lowell (Sr., Nashua, N.H.) - Placed 16th overall and helped UMass Lowell to its second New England Cross Country Championship in three years. Ran the five-mile course in 25:05.

Rex Radloff, UMass Lowell (Jr., Dedham, Mass.) - Placed third overall and led UMass Lowell to the New England Cross Country Championship for the second time in three years. Ran the five-mile course in 24:43 as UMass Lowell scored 79 points.

John Doherty, Merrimack (Fr., Chelmsford, Mass.) - Placed 240th overall at the New England Championships in a time of 27:57.

Ashley Sarris, Merrimack (Fr., Shelton, Conn.) - Placed 164th overall in a time of 20:09 at the New England Championships.

Jefferson Welch, Merrimack (Sr., Haverhill, Mass.) - Placed 81st at the New England Championships in a time of 26:02.

Mary Lynn Denholm, Saint Michael's (Sr., Sparks, Md.) - Placed 35th (and third among Division II runners) at the New England Championships in Boston's Franklin Park, running the 5,000-meter course in 18:35.

Meaghan Lucie, Saint Rose (So., West Islip, N.Y.) - Took third overall to help Saint Rose take a slim 27-28 victory at Le Moyne. Covered the trek in 21:02 as 18 runners competed in the race.

Jacob Edwards, Southern Connecticut (Sr., North Stonington, Conn.) - Helped the Owls finish in 14th place in the New England Championships with a time of 25:15, placing him 22nd overall in the 316 runner field.

Kevin Gill, Stonehill (So., Brockton, Mass.) - Earned All-New England accolades with a fourth place finish at the New England Championships. His time of 24:54 marked the first time a Stonehill runner has completed the course in under 25 minutes.
