Northeast-10 Men’s Athlete of the Week

Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (Sr., Boston, Mass.) - Placed 45th overall and 37th among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock University. Ran the 10K course in 32:22 and led the River Hawks to 13th in the team standings.

Northeast-10 Women’s Athlete of the Week

Melissa Nash, Bentley (Sr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Was the number one Northeast-10 Conference runner at the NCAA Division II Championships, placing 63rd amongst 189 runners overall with a 6,000-meter time of 23:17. Bested the number two NE-10 runner by 18 places and 14 seconds.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Jeff Veiga, UMass Lowell (Fr., Lowell, Mass.) - Placed 65th overall and 55th among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock University. Ran the 10K course in 32:42 and helped UMass Lowell to 13th in the team standings.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week

Susan O'Connell, Stonehill (Fr., East Greenwich, R.I.) - Was Stonehill's top freshman finisher at the Division II Cross Country Championships, completing the 6K layout in 24:37, good for 123rd place.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Sarah Brassard, UMass Lowell (Sr., Oxford, Mass.) - Placed 86th overall and 63rd among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock, Pa. Ran the 6K course in 23:31 and helped UMass Lowell to 22nd.

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (Jr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Placed 164th overall and 141st among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock, Pa. Ran the 6K course in 25:05 and helped UMass Lowell to 22nd.

Christina DaLomba, UMass Lowell (Sr., Marstons Mills, Mass.) - Placed 107th overall and 86th among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock, Pa. Ran the 6K course in 23:52 and helped UMass Lowell to 22nd.

Angus MacDonald, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, Mass.) - Placed 87th overall and 75th among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock University. Ran the 10K course in 33:01 and led the River Hawks to 13th in the team standings.

Steve O’Brien, UMass Lowell (Jr., Groton, Mass.) - Placed 103rd overall and 87th among scoring runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at Slippery Rock University. Ran the 10K course in 33:18 and helped the River Hawks to 13th in the team standings.

Kristina Coriaty, Stonehill (Sr., Brockton, Mass.) – Stonehill’s top performer, finished the 6K course in 23:43, good for 77th place at the Division II Cross Country Championships.

Matt Meagher, Stonehill (Sr., Mansfield, Mass.) - Was Stonehill's top finisher at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. Finished in 58th place with a time of 32:45 over the 10K layout.

Stephen Polito, Stonehill (Fr., Worcester, Mass.) - Was Stonehill's third finisher at the Division II Cross Country Championships. Wrapped up the 10K layout in 33:25, good for 93rd place.

Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: Senior Melissa Nash finished her career by placing 61st in the NCAA Division II Championships. It was a career-high and her third straight top-75 finish. Nash, in 25 career cross country races, was Bentley’s number one finisher 24 times.
