NE-10 Cross Country Championships Set for Saturday at Stonehill

Stonehill Women, AIC Men Picked to Repeat in Coaches' Polls

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | RECORD BOOK

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The 36th annual NE-10 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will take place this Saturday, Oct. 22 at Stonehill College. Prior to Saturday's events, Stonehill was voted as the favorite on the women's side, while American International was selected on the men's front, as the NE-10 Pre-Championship Coaches' Polls were released on Thursday.

Stonehill, this year's host institution, took the top spot in the women's poll with 196 points and 14 first-place votes. The Skyhawks won their 14th NE-10 women's title last season with Nicole Borofski leading the charge as the individual champion. It was the team's seventh straight team title.

AIC was tabbed as the top team in the men's poll with 193 points and 12 first-place votes. The Yellow Jackets won their second straight NE-10 men's title last season after winning the program's first league crown in 2014. Last year's second place finisher Leakey Kipkosgei was part of a 1-2 finish for AIC. 

Assumption was second in the women's poll with 175 points and the other first-place nod. Bentley came in at No. 3 with 154 points, while Merrimack (145 pts.) and AIC (143) rounded out the top five women's squads.

Stonehill was slotted at No. 2 in the men's poll with 180 points and a pair of votes for first place. Bentley was also third on the men's side, garnering 166 points. Southern New Hampshire picked up 160 points and the other first-place vote, while Adelphi (138) rounded out the top five men's teams.
